Elounda Krini

Very disappointed pictures were nothing like what it really is like. Bathroom was awful had cover of drain come away informed reception who said suppose to be like this but other members of my family did not have this problem. Shower curtain dirty and had to get reception up twice to unblock shower. When they did there was a horrible smell they came to put some disinfectant down but it came back. Food was terrible particularly evening meal had same thing i.e bolognse and pasta every night. No waiter service and was expected to clear own tables. Then had blue powder around edges where food containers were. Sunbeds badly stained and uncomfortable and when come out of pool had blue stains on skin. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

This is a lovely relaxed and quiet hotel with a happy and friendly feel to it. We stayed for 9 nights and enjoyed every aspect of our holiday at the Krini. The staff are all genuinely caring and want their guests to have a great holiday. Irina & Billjana had great suggestions for activities for us and Julietta was always friendly in the bar. The location is great and we walked into the square down the cobbled shortcut. It took about 20 minutes and you passed the salt pools and the cats on the way so it was an attractive walk. We went there to catch boats, the train and to eat at night a couple of times. We only did the suicide road walk once & didn’t repeat that route…. The hotel is spotlessly clean every where. The rooms are cleaned well and we got fresh towels whenever we put our dirty ones on the floor. This matters to us, as does a nice room with a lovely view and a quiet nights sleep: all of which we found at the Krini hotel. The breakfast was excellent, a nice selection of fruit, cooked food and continental items. We took our food outside every day and it was good to find a quiet shady place to eat. We lingered over breakfast, chatting to the cats and each other. Dinner was homestyle basic, but on the nights we ate in at the hotel we both found something to enjoy and satisfy us. Again, we took our food outside and enjoyed the calm vibe. I like the way that the hotel has trained the guests to take their empty plates to a table and stack them. This means that there are never dirty plates laying about and I never saw anyone not clear away after themselves. It was a good illustration of the mutual respect between staff & guests. The pool area is quiet and very clean. There were always free sunbeds and no reserving ever happened while we were there, which was a nice refreshing change! The pool is lovely and a fantastic place to cool off after a day out. The staff were strict about the usage times, which meant that there were no early morning or late evening shouty swimmers; bonus if you have a pool view room. We are sad to be going home today and wouldn’t hesitate to return here. It was a lovely hotel and gave us everything we wanted for our holiday. Thank you to all who work so hard at the Krini.

Our stay at Elounda Kirini was so much more than just a holiday. It was an experience filled with warmth, kindness and unforgettable people.

The staff are truly people with great hearts — kind, helpful, attentive and always smiling. From the very first moment, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. Their hospitality made us feel less like guests and more like friends.

A very special place in our hearts belongs to Biljana, the best guide we could have asked for on the island. She showed us Crete not only as a beautiful destination, but as a place full of tradition, soul and wonderful people. Thanks to her, we discovered the real Crete — the one you remember long after you return home.

And the olive oil we received from Biljana… ❤️ For us, it became the heart of this trip. Every time we use it at home, we will remember Crete, the people we met, the conversations, the laughter and the incredible warmth we experienced here.
