The first room I stayed in had electrical issues, took the hotel 3 days after reducing me to tears to move me to another room
The people working at reception had no customer service skills in fact I found them very rude., had no time for the customers
The bar restaurant and cleaning staff were fantastic
The food could have had more of Maltese cuisine rather than just fo using on the British cuisine

First of all I would like to say the pool bar staff and lounge bar staff were excellent throughout.

In respect of the restaurant staff they were fine initially but on the last couple of days the lack of glasses for Orange juice, cups for tea and bowls for soup became very irritating. However I would have given an overall rating of good but for what happened on our last day.

On the day of our departure we were told by the hotel rep that we would be able to have an early breakfast. We arranged this through reception for 5.30 and we're told we should go the restaurant. However when we went to the restaurant it was in darkness and the door was locked. Reception called security and the door was opened at around 540- still in darkness. By this time our driver had arrived. There was then a dispute over whether the door had been opened earlier. The security person was extremely hostile and said that it wasn't his problem if the door had not been opened. As a result of this altercation it is unlikely I would stay at the qawra Palace again and I am a repeat customer.

Always come to the same hotel. Retired widow and feel safe. I prefer to get private taxi transfer. Enjoy food, always something I like and do I do try other things. Entertainment good. I prefer half board because I only drink occasionally.

Food breakfast very good. evening meal fair. On booking told no sea view rooms, on arrival, asked again, given sea view room at extra cost £300. not to happy, rest of holiday was good.

Only downside, I reported that the chair on the balcony had a broken leg 4 times but nothing was done. I gave up after that and didn't use it. Reported it twice to the cleaner once verbly at reception and once via the telephone system.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Qawra, hotel based on an older generation which suited us fine, but as this was out of season maybe in the summer attracted families. The staff were always courteous to us especially Ruth in the restaurant, always a smile and nothing too much for her. In general staff were polite, our room was lovely, overlooking the bay and pool. Nice place to go and rest in lovely surroundings, would go there again.

Overall impression of hotel was very good, excellent location. Wasn't impressed with quality of food in restaurant, however there was always a varied selection, so we never went hungry. If we returned to this hotel we would ask for a sea view and pay the extra. The sun shone everyday apart from one, we had a great holiday and saw so much of the island.

When you arrive late other hotels have always provide. A cold meal my friend who was not allinclus was given a free lunch me nothing why could not give me a voucher for the coffee shop .lhave never known it before you had to pay for a bottle of water terrible

The Hotel was very impressive, the main entrance and communal areas had obviously been updated. Our room 606 was nice and bright, with a wonderful sea view, the furniture however was a little shabby, and dated.There was a kettle in the room, but no tea or coffee provided, which did seem a little odd, we would have preferred having facilities in our room instead of afternoon tea in the hotel dining room. Our room was always clean, and fresh towels provided when we requested them. All the staff were helpful and friendly.

All was pretty well at the Qawra Palace, all staff were helpful in all aspects, and queries put to them.
The cleaning and the dining room staff were nice and always happy and smiling. Always a good sign that all is well how the hotel is run.
I would return to the hotel for further holidays.

Have been going to this hotel for about 5 years. The recent makeover is a big improvement. The staff are pleasant. plenty of variety on buffet meals even for vegetarians. We always get a sea view room as it's right on the seafront.

This is a terrific hotel nothing too much trouble for the staff excellent food and drink clean in every way we enjoyed every minute of our stay here. Having read some of the comments about this hotel on trip adviser I was a bit apprehensive but I was very pleasantly surprised and would advise people to ignore the negative comments and judge for themselves.

Most of the time we didn't have hot water, if we let the tap run for a long time it came through Luke warm, sometimes in the evening we got hot water. We told reception and they reported it but didn't make any difference. Had to buy use of wifi.

Hotel adequate but "tired" despite recent "refurb". Our bathroom needed updating/repairing. Toilets in public areas need attention - often out of order and door unable to lock. Pool area very crowded - pool not large enough for the number of guests.
Dining room dark and depressing and bar area awful - more like railway waiting room! No ambience at all in this part of the hotel.
However recently refurbished reception hall lovely - light and airy with comfortable seating which creates very good (misleading) first impression.

I am writing to you in reference to our stay at the Qawra Place Hotel. It is not very often that I write to compliment people with the service they have given me but on this occasion I feel the need to do so. With respect I must admit I had never heard of Mercury Holidays therefore was a little reluctant to book ours with you for my wife and I to Malta. How wrong was I! My wife phoned to book our holiday and the gentleman on the other end could not have been more helpful. He talked my wife through everything and our holiday was booked within 15 minutes. We received regular updates about our holiday and we were checked in by yourselves for our outbound flight. We were met at Malta by a rep who directed us to our awaiting transfer. On arrival at our hotel, Qawra Palace, we were checked in by very helpful and polite staff. We were met by Eleanor on the Sunday and she made us feel welcome The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was extremely good with a lot of choice. Prior to departing Malta, Eleanor took our details and checked us in for our return flight. Everything went like clockwork. Our private taxi back to the airport was very good with the driver being extremely polite and knowledgeable, whilst telling us a lot about the history of Malta. All-in-all our holiday went perfectly. Would I book with you again? Without a doubt! Would I recommend you to all my friends and family? Certainly! So please pass on our thanks to all concerned for their excellent work and professionalism they all showed.

Excellent value for money. Room was clean and comfortable and definitely worth paying extra for a sea view room; amazing views at sunrise and sunset!
Staff very helpful and attentive.

Hotel is in good position and has a lovely pool area. Our room had side sea view but close to road so noisy at times. Liked the walk-in shower and good storage space too. Breakfast could have more variety but adequate and plentiful.

Should not have to pay for wi-fi or sunbed mattress if really 4*.

Very good hotel. Rooms were kept clean and tidy. Maids were very good. Nice room on second floor overlooking the sea. Food was of a good standard but lacked a bit in variety. Reception area good and staff on reception helpful.
Only complaints were that the room was noisy being on the front of the hotel. Entertainment went on till midnight on the pool terrace below our room. Also the main road was noisy most of the time.

Reception was the only bit that was not so good. Staff were slow when serving and there was often a queue. I left a recommendation that they get extra staff from elsewhere at busy times. Housekeeping was excellent. Bar and restaurant very good with a susstantial choice. Excellent value for money.

A good 4 star plus standard - especially the food.
Pool area was good but a little irritating to have to pay for sunbed mattresses (but it was only 1 euro per day). Entertainment was good but was noticeably all male entertainers, a female vocalist or a short cabaret would have been welcome.
All in all we had an excellent weeks break.

Everything was good,two problems sorted out straight away. Impressed with bathroom.
Only gripe was that people smoked inside in swimming pool corridor and the smoke wafted up corridor to lounge bar.
Hotel staff excellent and transfer service spot on.

Hotel was in need of a face lift, the room we stayed in was in need of a refit, it was clean-ish but needed modernizing. The hotel was built approx. 30 years ago and the room looked like it had not been updated since then. However the food and service in the restaurant was excellent.

Swimming pool was not cleaned daily. After the fortnight I have brought it to the attention acting manager as I had scooped myself debris ( plasters, leafs, paper, plastic). The pool area was clean but the underside of the upper pool was serious.

2nd floor renovations were noisy and unfair for guests who whised to have an afternoon Siesta.

The smoking in bedrooms is a huge fire risk and anti social.It drifted into my room via A/C, balcony , window and door leading from hallway.
