Fabulous Hotel
Lovely hotel, spotless everywhere, food was delicious with plenty of choice , all the staff spoke and couldn’t do enough for you, really surprised me, been holding back going to Egypt for years because of stories about poor food , stomach bugs etc but this was one of the best hotels we have stayed at The Chinese section was exceptional much better than we get back home My only criticism is that the entertainment was on way too late, the kids club started at 9 pm ! , never managed to stay up to even see the start of the shows with the heat of the day taking its toll

Wonderful hotel but airport departure nightmare
We have just returned home from an amazing 14-night stay at Reef Oasis Blue Bay Resort & Spa, and this was our second visit. Once again, it was fantastic from start to finish.
The whole resort is spotless and very well maintained. We stayed in room 2252, which was huge and in a perfect location.
The buffet restaurants offered an excellent selection of food every day for both lunch and dinner, with plenty of variety and different dishes each day. Breakfast was one of the highlights, with fresh omelettes cooked exactly how you like them, and the fresh salmon was absolutely amazing.
Every member of staff was incredibly attentive, from the restaurant servers and lifeguards to the pool bar staff. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and everyone was friendly and welcoming.
A big bonus is The Pub, which is open 24 hours a day and serves snacks between the normal breakfast, lunch and dinner times, so you're never left hungry.
The little shops on site were actually not as expensive as we expected. They are slightly more expensive than UK prices, but that's to be expected at a resort.
The evening entertainment was great every night, but our favourite place was definitely the Terrace Bar. The live bands and singers created such a fantastic atmosphere, but what made it truly special were the incredible bar staff.
A huge thank you to Hossam Alkhwaga, Ahmed Saber, Mohamed Gohar and Ahmed Elsayed. Every evening you welcomed us with a smile, remembered our drinks, and provided outstanding service. You were always friendly, professional, attentive and genuinely made us feel at home. You are a real credit to the hotel and made our evenings something we looked forward to every single night. We already miss you all and can't wait to come back and see you again.
A special thank you also to Mido in the restaurant and Mahmood, who looked after us every day. You all played a huge part in making our holiday so memorable.
We can't wait to return. Until next time!
One thing to be aware of – Sharm Airport (Departure)
This isn't a reflection on the hotel, but I think it's worth mentioning for anyone travelling.
Leaving Sharm Airport was unfortunately a very frustrating experience. We completely understand the need for security, but there were around five separate security checkpoints, repeated bag checks and constant pat-downs, which felt excessive.
We also had a worrying incident. After dropping off our hold luggage and waiting for our passports to be stamped, I noticed my headphone cable hanging out of my hand luggage, even though the bag had been fully zipped before going through the first X-ray scanner. I pushed the cable back inside and immediately realised my iPad was missing.
I reported it straight away. Security took me to another desk, where I could clearly see what appeared to be my iPad. The man behind the desk was on his phone, didn't say a word, simply reached under the desk, placed my iPad on top of the desk and carried on with his phone call.
It certainly appeared that my hand luggage had been opened during the screening process and my iPad removed without anyone informing me. Had I not noticed the headphone cable sticking out, I may never have realised until I got home.
Hopefully this was an isolated incident, but my advice is to keep a very close eye on your hand luggage during the security process.
Despite the airport experience, our holiday at Reef Oasis Blue Bay Resort & Spa was absolutely fantastic, and we wouldn't hesitate to return.

Amazing excursions!
We had an absolutely incredible experience with Alex, our guide at Reef Oasis Blue Bay in Sharm El Sheikh!
Our first trip was a 2.5-hour private speedboat excursion, where we went snorkeling and were incredibly lucky to see a huge number of dolphins. It was truly an unforgettable experience! Alex spoke perfect English, was extremely caring and attentive throughout the trip, and made us feel completely safe and relaxed. He was also very knowledgeable and explained the fascinating history behind the shipwreck at our snorkeling site, which made the experience even more special.
We were so impressed with Alex that we booked another trip with him — a night snorkeling experience — and once again, it was absolutely beautiful. Seeing the reef at night was a completely different and magical experience, and Alex made sure everything was very well organised from start to finish.
Alex is a fantastic guide who clearly loves what he does and genuinely cares about his guests having the best possible experience. We highly recommend booking a trip with Alex if you are staying at Reef Oasis Blue Bay. Both excursions were amazing, and we will remember these experiences for a very long time. Thank you, Alex, for making our trips so special!
One of the best holidays I have ever had - staff are exceptional
I write this as someone who didn’t want to come to Egypt but I am so glad I did and this hotel goes above and beyond. Every member of staff cannot do enough for you from the cleaners to the pool team it’s just incredible. At the pool you have solomon he makes sure every morning your towels are out on your sunbed waiting for you , there is no towel wars here everything is controlled and he takes care of it.
The bar staff down at the leisure pool are so friendly there is a barman called Essam every morning he greets you with a smile and a big welcome he is one of the nicest people I’ve met and he is absolutely outstanding with the kids the owner of this resort is lucky to have staff like him.
The cleaners knew we had 2 kids and every day we’d come back to the room to find our towels in the shape of animals , pigs , elephants , dogs & always made the kids smile.
Then the chef at the leisure pool sadoun - the guy must never sleep he’s always working yet he’s friendly and polite always and the food is excellent he always takes care and pride in what he serves you
There are a couple of guys that walk round the pool daily offering trips again I was very dismissive but when a family behind me told me about there experience we booked a boat trip with snorkelling it was incredible Saed was the salesman and he isn’t pushy so friendly and great with the kids - I will do a review on the boat trip on the dive school page.
Tipping : We tipped the cleane 200 Egyptian daily just left it in the room it goes along way
We tipped all the above mentioned people at the end of the trip and believe me they deserve it.
Finally the beach is lovely and the snorkelling by the jetty is fantastic you’ll see so much marine life and a lifeguard is always there watching you.
Today is our last day we’ve been here for a week , remember at the start I said I didnt want to come to Egypt …… we are now heading back next year for 14 days it is that good.

Cheeky week away
As a loyal RIU customer and no RIU in Sharm this hotel was very good , food , staff and room were very good , hotel probably slightly outdated needing a facelift but don’t be put off by this as the rooms were immaculate and tidy each day , wifi coverage could be better but overall nice cheeky week and would recommend it to anyone seeking to visit Sharm
