We had a wonderful 19 day holiday at the Sheraton for our 2nd year return, the staff were incredibly friendly (bar one) and went above and beyond to make your experience special, a big shout out to Mohammed the life guard at the adult cave pool who was always friendly and worked endlessly all-day ( shame he went to pastures new) whilst also Muhammed in the cave bar was also eager to ensure we had everything we needed. Out room was always spotless on our return, with towel decorations every day, solely down to the hard work of Akram Thatwat giving the room that extra little touch. THE DISAPPOINTMENTS of our holiday, renovations were still underway from last years construction of the new pool, although it was completed we were constantly told it would be open tomorrow, tomorrow never came. THE EVENING ENTERTAINMENT on the terrace was particular disappointing, guest were forced to listen to 'Baby Shark' every evening whilst dinning, we much prefer to eat then move onto the entertainment, as dinning was ongoing to 10 pm it would have been nice to dine on the terrace but the kids entertainment put a stop to that. We were also surprised that the terrace bar closed at 10 pm whilst entertainment was ongoing resulting with a mad rush to the gloomy lobby bar to get a drink and seat, one evening it shut at 9.50 pm and refused to serve me although I pointed out the time the bar man continued not to serve me and pointed to his watch, which was the same as mine. THE LOBBY BAR, its self, as mention was dark and gloomy and if you came from the terrace past 10 pm you were certainly not going to get a table and seating whilst also being met by one waiter who was rude and unfriendly all because I didn't tip him. The new moonlight bar was open but only between 10am and 5pm for drinks, this would of been a wonderful opportunity to open of the evening for adults to drink/socialise on the beach. DINNING, food was repetitive and catered for the more eastern European customer, resulting in going to the onsite Italian and Lebanese restaurant's, of the few times we did go for a evening meal in the main restaurant we had to wait on numerous times for the table to be cleaned and re laid before we were able to be seated, whilst also drinks were not offered to us resulting in myself having to walk out to the terrace bar to get a water and a cold drink. GUESTS of the Sheraton, 90% of guests were from eastern European counties, whom were rude and arrogant not just to other guests but to the staff, a simple please and thank you would not be amiss. WOULD WE RETURN, , Although we had a lovely time and lovely weather, we will not return, perhaps in a few years when the renovation are completed, the entertainment venue has been altered and a option for socialising in more quieter/ adult settings, then we may consider.
Used spa service, Anti stress massage, the spa rooms required: aroma smell, soft towels, disposable garment
Visited the Sheraton in March 26 with a friend, hotel was stunning, clean and well maintained (bathrooms could use an update but nothing that would affect your holiday). Food was good standard, plenty of choice in main restaurant and at the à la carte although the snack bar may as well be non existent as there was no choice and it was served in polystyrene cartons. The drinks were fab; Mohammed at the pool bar created fabulous cocktails and kept us happy. We are in our 30’s and 40’s and the only real complaint I have is the entertainment, it was very basic, but what was the biggest waste was the karaoke room that only opened at 10pm until 11:30. It was busy every night In there, fab atmosphere but should be open from 9 til late to accommodate the visitors who don’t just want to sit In the lobby bar playing cards.
Great place with a few tweaks but enjoyed our holiday!
Review :
Duration : 10 nights
Date : 31/07/2026-11/08/2026
Nationality : British
Guests : Family of 4 aged 53, 49, 19, 16 Plus 2 adults (friends of ours in their 50’s) who joined us in day 2
We returned home the early hours of Monday morning after a ten night stay at this hotel.
Positives:
☀️ Beautiful spacious rooms and balconies
☀️ Extremely comfortable and huge SuperKing sized beds with two pillows each
☀️ Beautiful panoramic views from the balcony
☀️ Beachfront hotel with easy access
☀️ Cleanliness of restaurant areas, toilets, pools, rooms, grounds is excellent
☀️ Food well presented and tasty, however we feel there was a limited selection for a 5 star hotel
☀️ Swim up bars in main pool and Cave pool were excellent
☀️ Friendly approachable and very hard working welcoming staff (the vast majority, see negatives)
☀️The Animacion Team work extremely hard to engage guests in daytime and evening activities. We were led to believe that sone of them only started their placement at the hotel the week we visited. We were told that they’d been hired to deliver a better enhanced experience than what had been delivered previously and we could see they were trying to make a positive impact. Hopefully they’ll be able to utilise the karaoke room to its full potential too once they’re more established
☀️Sunbeds were easy to acquire, one lifeguard offered to save the same beds for us daily. We offered a £5 tip daily for this privilege
☀️Beautiful hotel grounds and gardens
☀️Quiet and relaxing hotel. Didn’t hear any noise whilst sleeping at night or early morning
☀️Easy to commute to other places such as Naama Bay and Soho in a taxi. We found that downloading the In-Drive App was useful and cheaper than booking directly with the hotel agent. We did however learn that when the taxi is not booked by the hotel staff, you do need to walk out of the hotel grounds beyond the gate to be picked up. It’s a nice walk to the gate too.
☀️The Taxi desk, guest relations and reception appeared to be manned 24/7
☀️Spa - 2 out of 6 of us enjoyed treatments at the spa
Negatives :
☀️Flight was delayed by an hour so arrived late to the hotel. Not the hotel’s fault but as the all inclusive finished at midnight drinks including soft drinks were chargeable (and pricey). We understand this is the regular approach most places however due to that being night 1 of our all inclusive 10 night package, we’d have expected there to be at least an offering of one drink each given we’d arrived later than scheduled like we have experienced elsewhere. This first impression set the scene!
☀️ Food choices at each meal time were limited for a 5 star hotel, albeit tasty.
☀️ The Snack Bar was a very odd set up. A polystyrene three section carton was handed to you with something served up in each section. For instance, chilli, chicken balls, French fries. No further selection. There was no opportunity to decide how much of each you wanted or to omit any of what was on offer.
☀️This is the first 5 star hotel we’ve been to that don’t offer burgers, french fries and chicken nuggets daily at lunch and dinner. This wasn’t any hardship for me personally as I like to embrace the local cuisine but I know others who would have liked this option, in particular their UK guests.
☀️ The all inclusive drinks package was honestly beyond awful and for this reason we would not recommend staying at this hotel. We noticed that the wine had been watered down leaving a froth on the top of the drink. When raising this with the bar staff at the Lobby Bar we were informed that they were out of red wine so had indeed added water to it. We asked for white wine instead and the same thing happened. Again, we raised this and was told “This is Egyptian wine”. Every glass of wine served was watered down, as was the rum and vodka
☀️ The cocktails were made up to align with the ingredients quoted on the cocktail menu depending who served you. If it was Mohammed at the Pool Bar or Mohammed at the Cave Bar you’d receive your chosen delicious cocktail otherwise you’d never get a cocktail to mirror what it was supposed to, instead you’d receive what tasted like a heavily diluted orange cordial!
☀️Fruit juices in the dispensers at Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all diluted, weak and tasteless
☀️Thete was a man who worked in the Lobby Bar, so front of house, he was very rude, unwelcoming and appeared like he did not wish to be there. We were informed that he’d gone on vacation the day before we departed the hotel and we all said how much more comfortable we felt sitting in the lobby playing cards without him being around creating a negative atmosphere. He had refused our Son a drink at 11.59pm one night insisting he paid . When he showed him the time he responded with “You’re only having one drink, you need to pay for any more”. This made us feel like we were using his family’s personal income directly from his pocket to fund our bar bill! Very negative, rude and unwelcoming behaviour!
☀️The rooms were lovely but the bathrooms were a little dated and work required looked to be beyond the temporary cosmetic fixes that had previously been applied.
☀️ Three out of six of us had Sickness / diarrhoea resulting in 36 hours in bed feeling unwell. We are told that this is very common in Egypt however and can’t pinpoint any reason in particular for it. It may have been a mixture of factors that contributed. Meat and fish all appeared to be cooked fully so we have no complaints about the food quality.
☀️ The staff that approach guests encouraging them to book spa treatments quite frankly became absolute pests! We were very friendly towards them, as were they to us, but we had to repeatedly decline their services several times each and every day! We had read that if we erect a ‘red flag’ they understand that this is a signal not to ‘disturb’ you. One of them ‘Will’ (the name he uses to welcome guests from the UK) picked ours up and asked “is this for me?” then threw it on the floor. We totally appreciate it’s their job to generate income however their advances became tiresome. One afternoon Will interrupted our lunch to promote their work. He also randomly (and very awkwardly) massages people’s feet, head and shoulders suggesting it’s a ‘freebee’ then goes onto promoting the spa treatments. I got to the stage I’d try and avoid him if I saw him after he appeared to not understand the words “no thank you”!
Overall a lovely hotel, hardworking friendly staff, grounds and pool 5 star, rooms spacious and clean with bathrooms now looking tired relaxing, beautiful views, easy to reach external attractions via taxi, entertainment programme progressing well, food tasty but lacking a selection for a 5 star hotel. Drinks package exceptionally poor, limited selection and diluted (by admission too) with water! Sparkling wine ( such as Cava / Prosecco type wine ) is also chargeable The drinks package lets the hotel down drastically which is such a shame as it’s a peaceful and tranquil hotel which would otherwise be perfect for everyone’s summer holiday.
I can’t speak highly enough about the staff at this resort. From the moment we arrived until we left, everyone went over and beyond to make our stay feel special. Ahmed Abaza and his team (shout out to Rana and Saad) made our check-in smooth, upgraded us to a breathtaking suite, and stayed in touch with us the entire time to help with excursion and dinner reservations, attending to the needs of our family of divers and beach lovers. We have been to many Bonvoy hotels worldwide as Titanium members, but this service is exceptional. The corals off this beach reef are beautiful, and the dive shop folks are professional in renting the snorkeling gear and planning boat excursions. Food wise, the breakfast buffet was plentiful and beach service was great. We will definitely be back to beautiful Sharm and to this specific resort!
