Stop changing things
This was our Eighth visit to the montemare, and as much as we love it here, there’s definitely been a noticeable reduction in quality and standards, despite it getting more and more expensive each year. Now the actual hotel Staff , are wonderful, can’t do enough for you, however there seems to be less of them and they are run ragged (but always with a smile) . Food has definitely changed, for the worse, breakfast seems to be mainly aimed towards non British guests, as choices are more limited and not as well cooked. We usually love the egg station, but the omelettes were undercooked and the fried eggs were overcooked. So unless you want moussaka for breakfast, you are limited to very basic options. The Asian restaurant, Manzoku, usually one of our favourites, has gone down in quality and taste. The kung pow chicken is bland and tasteless ( used to be absolutely fantastic) and the battered fried banana is now served cold and underripe, no idea why they changed it.
Nabil, from the buffet restaurant is a credit to this restaurant, he literally doesn’t stop and doesn’t neglect anyone. Hopefully he will be managing it next time we visit.
The evening entertainment up by the buffet restaurant, is not as good as previous years, too many musicians and not enough singers. Most people leave when they see it’s just a musician, why change something that worked and guests genuinely enjoyed?
Now my biggest issue is with the Entertainment team, Polina in particular. She was extremely rude and disrespectful to , not just myself and my family, but anyone who was British and in her way.. on numerous occasions she pushed her way in front of ,paying, guests to get food. It was abhorrent. Also, buffet restaurant staff, especially the shawarma station, would stop serving guests, to serve the entertainment staff first, letting them jump the queue, making guests feel uncomfortable. The young man serving at the shawarma station was abrupt, disinterested and stingy with the portions too. Never smiling or anything.
Reception, splash bar, Basilico and top bar staff, all absolutely fantastic, honestly just wonderful. And the food at Basilico was wonderful too! My last criticism about this year is, too many top managers, who spend more time either talking amongst themselves or doing nothing.
So , Sunrise Montemare, go back a few years to when things were great and didn’t need changing.
And for Goodness sake’s, bring back Hamdy, the splash pool was managed and looked after, way better when he was there!
Would also like to say a massive thanks to all the staff who sang Happy Birthday to our Daughter in Law, you made it so very special.
All of that aside, our holiday was enjoyed and we have already booked you again.
P.s the photo service is a rip off, way way too expensive for poor quality photos
A wonderful vacation
I had such a wonderful stay at SUNRISE Montemare Resort! From the moment we arrived, everything felt well-organized, clean, and welcoming. The resort itself is beautiful, with amazing views, lovely pools, great facilities, and a very relaxing atmosphere. What really made the experience special, though, was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, polite, attentive, and always ready to help. You can genuinely feel that the staff care about making guests comfortable and enjoying their stay. A special mention to the animation team! They brought so much energy and fun to the resort. There were always activities, music, games, and entertainment going on, and they did a great job creating a lively atmosphere while still allowing people to relax. They were friendly, enthusiastic, and made the days at the resort even more enjoyable. ❤️ The restaurants and food were also very good, with plenty of variety, and the overall service throughout the resort was excellent. Overall, I had an amazing experience at SUNRISE Montemare and would definitely come back. A huge thank you to the entire team, especially the wonderful staff and animation team and Izi , for making our stay so enjoyable! 🤍🌴☀️

Me and my friend stayed for 8 days didn't go out alot so the most of the experience was in the hotel itself. The hotel is so beautiful, well maintained and bery clean. we had the swim up room which was very nice and calm at night. The room cleaner ahmed was so amazing , helpful and very polite. The reception workers were so nice and quick with their jobs. Special thanks to mina. The main two pools close to the sea were so alive but on the downside both allow kids that made alot of noise sometimes, i would've preferred to have one of these pools for adults only since the two pools are close to each other and not that different. The snack bar near the pool was the main attraction, Mohammed and Abdo gave us the best experience ever, they were so professional with happy faces when giving service im so thankful for them. But the captain of the snack bar( i dont remember his name) was a bit grumpy with double standards, maybe according to your nationality or ethnicity, thats how we felt since he accepts things for certain people and forbids the same things for other people. The diving center were so professional, Amr the diving instructor and Marwan the photographer transformed my stay from good to amazing. The food court was good and plenty of choices, i would recommend to stick with it. Since we tried the italian restaurant in the hotel it was a disaster, not that good service but the real problem was the food it didn't reach the bottom line of italian cuisine, especially the well done tenderloin (you never get asked for the doneness) and the carpaccio was dreadful and dark brown colored. At night time there is very little to do , shisha bar is small and kids made it harder to watch any football match on the tv there. We went the sports bar that has the pool table so we can watch a match on the tv with a drink, the bar itself needed more sports bar theme and innovation, and the only pool stick was old and broken. When the game started we asked for commentary voice, the bartender said he cant enable the voice of the tv so we had to watch the match on mute because its the system as he said, the weird thing the next day another bartender allowed the voice and said it was acceptable. Still dont know who was right but the other one was much nicer to us.. Overall the hotel was very good but not excellent, it only need a little touch to make it 10/10 instead of 9/10 i would recommend to families more than friends of my age. A wonderful and unforgettable
The hotel is really great,truly wonderful. clean and above all the staff are very welcoming. My children and I loved it and our stay was unforgettable.i hope we’ll come back to experiment again next year.
Family vacation
Amazing hotel with friendly staff and small aqua park but was suitable for the kids very good variety in bar menu and the beach was amazing special thanks for Mr mena and Mr Mahmoud in reception and Mr Mohamed El sharkawy in lobby bar and hossam in sea bar also special thanks for the house keepers for the room decorations we enjoyed so much.
