Coral Sea Holiday Resort Aqua Park

We’ve recently returned from a fantastic week at Coral Sea Holiday Park aka Holiday Village Red Sea. Beautiful hotel with just a short transfer from the airport. Great staff who cannot do enough for you, particularly some of the bar and restaurant staff. Food choice was good, and the quality & temperatures of the food was above standards that we have previously experienced at all inclusive hotels. Unfortunately we did not visit any of the à la cart restaurants, but heard good feedback for the Indian & Greek Taverna. All inclusive drinks were ok and again, better than most other all inclusives, with bottled beer and soft drinks. Mohammed at the beach bar worked so hard and still brought drinks to you, when you were sitting on the beach - all the staff at the bars were friendly, helpful & cheery. Sunbeds were plentiful at the beach and pool areas, and the lifeguards were also helpful. Entertainment and activities were there if you wanted to participate but the crew were not pushy when you wanted to relax. The beach was lovely and you can paddle a long way out in shallow water, and at the end of the jetty you can swim in crystal clear water in a roped off area that feels very safe. We loved seeing all the fish when walking to and from the jetty.
Shops on the site are reasonable and you can get what you need without having to venture out too far - special shout out for Derby in the Mini Mart and the jewellers and the art stall. Reception staff were friendly & helpful, and service was swift if you requested anything from your room. Room cleanliness was also good, and rooms were made up daily with plenty of water being left for guests also. Noise levels were fine - not a lot of rowdiness but also not dead with nothing happening, and overall a good balance to try and keep everyone happy. My wife also visited the spa twice, which was a big thumbs up, and she had a full body scrub, facial and full body massage. We did one trip to Tiran Island for snorkelling which is highly recommended. No complaints whatsoever for this resort and even though we don’t usually return to the same place, we will definitely be returning next year. There were also guests onsite that had been back 20 to 30 times, which speaks volumes. A big thanks to all of the hard working, professional, friendly staff who made this holiday really special!

Our review after a 10 day stay ☀️

Hotel - We had the newest refurbished interconnecting swim up rooms 12110 and 12111. They were right at the back of the resort, very close to the main gate and football academy.

Honestly couldn’t fault the rooms or the swim up pool in any way. The new decor is lovely, the rooms are spacious and the swim up pool is well worth paying the extra for, it was a god send in the heat!

The walk down to the main pool and restaurant felt like we needed an uber at first 😂 as we were set so far back but we quickly found a much faster shortcut through block 10 or failing that, we just got buggies to take us where we needed to go.

The only niggle we had about staying in these rooms was that the refurbishment of block 11 was right next door to us and was very loud for most of the day every day with building noise. They do put sheets up but it was like living on a building site for most of the time 😬

Other than that the grounds, pools and everything else was kept to a very high standard and we couldn’t fault it.

The resort is fairly big, lots of winding paths and little hills. It can feel like you’re walking a very long way sometimes but it’s not too bad once you’re used to the layout.

Sunbeds & pools - We didn’t have any trouble getting sunbeds at any time of day. Yes it was fairly busy round the main pool but there was always somewhere to sit and the lifeguards were always so helpful in finding extra beds and putting them wherever you wanted to sit. We liked the slides and the entertainment round the pool and the lifeguards were so good with my 6 year old daughter, they really do go the extra mile with the kids.

There was a quiet pool but as we had our swim up we didn’t use this. We went between the swim up and the main pool.

Food - The main buffet restaurant has so much variety that I couldn’t see how even the fussiest eater wouldn’t be able to find something they liked. Not only that but the food was of really good quality too and everything was fresh and tasted good. The only thing I found after 10 days was that it got a bit repetitive and samey but then it would after so many days 😂

Our waiter was Ahmed, he had such a sweet way with my daughter, bringing her hot chocolates every day, and setting our table every meal time for us before we got there and asking if we needed anything often. He was a really nice guy and an asset to the hotel.

We also tried the Indian restaurant and enjoyed that, and the food court was good too.

We wanted to try the stone grill but didn’t manage to get booked in which was a shame but there’s always next time! We also ate out at Wild West and Hard Rock Cafe and really enjoyed both.

Entertainment - They do hold this in the amphitheater up by reception but honestly it’s better than being outside in the heat. It’s air conditioned and comfortable and as it’s in an enclosed room, you can always see where your children are as a lot of them like to run around.

The entertainment itself was what I’d call your usual resort stuff. There were silent discos, dance nights, outside acts, a country night and more. The HV team work hard in the heat and are always really approachable and friendly.

Overall we had an amazing ten days here. The staff, the pools, the food, the service, everything was lovely and we were sad to have to go home!

Would we return? Definitely!
