Coral Sea Water World

Great resort. The rooms are huge, quiet and very clean. The cleaner Mohamed was always smiling and couldn’t do enough for you. The water park is fantastic and very quiet. The food is good in the main buffet. The Italian, stone grill and Asian are pretty good. The steaks at the Italian are especially good. The pools are nice but the lifeguards save the best sun loungers to whoever pays them the most. To get the other sun beds with parasols you need to get to the pool at 5.30am to reserve. The plastic cups around the pools are cracked, chipped and look dirty. Why doesn’t the hotel just buy new ones? Take your Stanley cups. The bar staff and waiters are all friendly and offer a good service. Although more waiters around the pool would be better. We found the reception team to be pretty clueless and almost rude at times.

Overall I would recommend this hotel but some small improvements could make the experience better.

We had a fantastic stay at Coral Sea Waterworld in Egypt, travelling as a single parent with my 13-year-old teenager. Overall, we absolutely loved our holiday and I would definitely return — I’ve even gone as far as looking at prices for next year already!

The room was a little dated, but it was clean and comfortable, and the cleaner did a great job. In fact, the whole resort was very clean and well maintained. There are lots of facilities to enjoy, but the waterpark was definitely a highlight, along with the two great swimming pools.

Tipping is gratefully received by the staff, but it certainly didn’t feel essential or expected, which was nice.

The all-inclusive restaurant was a little hit and miss. If food is the main reason you choose a holiday, then this probably isn’t the resort for you. However, we tried the Asian restaurant and Stone House Grill, and both were excellent, with really good food and definitely worth a visit.

The beach was clean and lovely, and the snorkelling at the end of the little jetty was fantastic. We saw plenty of marine life and really enjoyed having the opportunity to snorkel straight from the resort.

We also booked an excursion with Aquarius Diving Club, and I literally cannot recommend them enough! They were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. We did scuba diving, which was amazing, as well as snorkelling, and the food provided was excellent too. The boat wasn’t overcrowded, unlike some others we saw, and the whole team made us feel really important and well looked after. They were definitely one of the highlights of our holiday.

We also went on the buggies with Falcon and did a camel ride. We really enjoyed the experience, although there were quite a few stops for photos. I completely understand that this is part of how they make a living, but at times it did feel a little pushy.

Overall, Coral Sea Waterworld was a fantastic holiday for us. There are a few areas that could be improved, particularly the dated rooms and the consistency of the all-inclusive food, but the cleanliness, facilities, waterpark, pools, beach and overall experience more than made up for it.

I would definitely go back, and the fact that I’m already looking at booking again for next year probably says it all! We had a brilliant time and I would happily recommend Coral Sea Waterworld, especially for families and anyone travelling with teenagers.
