Just returned from two week holiday and many aspects were amazing the stand out is the setting our photos look AI The staff every single one went above and beyond for us so helpful friendly and engaging Lucy and Nina for morning chats ,Halal and others at pool bar , Female worker in wunderbar and the guy who does great accents all stood out The air con in the room The jetty and reef The pool size The negatives which I was shocked were not mentioned in reviews I read prior to arriving the pool depth all pools are 155cm which stoped our family having fun pool games as we couldn’t stand and it’s exhausting treading water to play catch only one small section has graduated steps so slightly shallower but it’s used for aqua aerobics and has lots of younger children in Early morning sunbeds are crazy lots are reserved by lifeguards for a fee and others gone before 6 am the parasols are fixed and slatted so not good for shade Most morning after all sunbeds are reserved with towels the life guards remove a large section in turn them wrap towels around parasol and stack all beds at pool to clean floor not sure why this is not done on evening or early before reserving The drinks are poor no two bar orders are same you can not get same cocktail twice most are warm or too fizzy ques are bad the coffee tea and soft drinks could be turned for self serve to help with que No slushy and milkshakes are like nesquick Snack only at Waterpark which is a fair distance from pool or beach and tiny ice cream only in restaurants maybe extra snack ice cream area near pool or beach The shows are often amphitheater then second event in lobby which is not big enough so end up standing in august heat it’s unbearable We were stopped from taking drink from coffee house to sit in lobby told have to drink in coffee house not sure why We had two rooms same block different floors one had amazing room service the other shocking resulting in daily calls for towels and was only cleaned 3 times in our14 nights due to man not coming till tea time after we had returned to room despite many request for earlier clean Room mini bar is not great for five star everything is chargeable there is a small corner on shelf with 6 cans per stay free and water bottled filled daily tho we only used this for teeth cleaning it tasted funny I do think minibar should have free cans more often and paid items by request only Ala a carts lovely easy to book at guest services but all eat outside so not enjoyable in the heat Main buffet fine standers all inclusive you can always find table and something to eat found all staff friendly although cooked items have long queue The hotel lacks a large air conditioned area for evening shows
We had a lovely time went to soho square using I drive app for taxi visited ice bar and ate out we did private speed boat saw dolphins and shipwreck with akmed who comes round pool every day We walked out to local shops bit pushy but not intimidating never felt unsafe George clooneys sells everything worth the walk up hill or if your lucky can get the hotel buggy just ask Mc Donald’s walking distance and Hard Rock Cafe too We also kept one room for late check out 6pm for £38 made a huge difference for our last day Air planes fly over hotel regularly starting at 4:30 am We had a lovely time and there are so many positives but for us the pool depth inconsistency with drinks and ques ,and no air conditioned area for shows would prevent us returning .
Grounds are kept beautiful by hard working staff. Entertainment team are brilliant at getting people involved although the shows were quite repetitive. Food is ok but quite repetitive. Pool is lovely although you need to get up early to get a bed (or ask the lifeguards to help out and a tip is gracefully received). You need beach shoes for the sea but snorkelling off the jetty is very cool! Added extras like the scuba course and spa treatments were well worth the money. There were things that could have been better but the staff are incredible and make you feel really special. We have never been in a position where all 5 of us didn’t want to leave and are looking to rebook - something we’ve never done before.
This was our first time in Egypt so didn’t know what to expect, got to the hotel, very big, can easily get lost at first but soon find your way around. Room was nice and clean, facilities were well kept, friendly staff, it was hard to get a sun lounger though as people get up very early to chuck their towels on and not show up until after dinner, don’t think this should be allowed to be fair, I’m on holiday so don’t want to have to get up before 6am to put a towel down to get a space near the pool. Booked two trips with TUI, one of them being a buggy ride in the dessert. Was told pickup time would be 8:05 unless otherwise told in advance, didn’t hear anything so assumed all was good only to find out on the day that pickup time was moved to 9am, didn’t let me know, the rep had my mobile number and room number, couldn’t be bothered to mention it after as just wanted to get on with the day, try not to let little things get to me. Snacks are ok but as the hotel is so big depending on whereabouts you are it’s a bit of a walk, not all bars do the same drinks which can be abit annoying. Food in restaurant is ok, bit repetitive though, with a hotel this size I was shocked there was no one there to show you to tables etc, was like a free for all, people barging in front of you, that kind of thing, always had to ask staff member for our drinks order at the restaurant, tried one of the à la carte restaurants, the green curry, was very nice and really enjoyed the food, the staff were really good there and went out of their way to help you. The coffee house was good place to go to chill out, the guy who works there is Omar and he’s a really friendly nice guy, brilliant to talk to. The hotel even has a cat called Romero who hangs around outside the coffee house 😂 overall the holiday was very good, would I go to Egypt again, yes, probably somewhere else though as I don’t tend to go back to previous places anyway no matter how good they are, i always like to try new places.
Really good and really kind. All the staff are really polite. Would recommend
It was a lovely holiday, with pros and cons listed below:
Pros:
Food court: very convenient Air conditioning: fantastic in the room WiFi: great signal across the resort and only has to sign in once. It was the best WiFi I have experienced in a resort
Cons: Restaurant waiter service: could be better as there were numerous times where we had to find staff for drinks orders and in some cases cutlery Sunbed availability: very hard locating 2 sunbeds together within close proximity to the pool. In some cases people left sunbeds unattended most of the days. Damaged plastic grill: around the main pool was damaged and a safety concern. We did alert staff but saw 2 people that got foot caught in the gaps Beach: is not sandy nor are you able to swim in the water due to the shallow reefs. Definitely take footwear if you want to go into the sea
Overall a great holiday. I probably wouldn’t come back to Egypt in the month of August as it was too hot, even though the AC in the room was great.
