Baron Palms Resort Sharm El Sheikh

Booked this 4 weeks before going after personal recommendations, reviews on this site plus we wanted a adult only break to relax.

On arrival at about 10.30pm the hotel looked nice and as dinner had finished, we were told that they would send up some small plates of food in 10 minutes as we were hungary there was nowhere open that provided food and they also said that everything in the minibar was included as we were thirsty. 45 minutes later we were still waiting for these small plates of food and the minibar was empty. We decided to go to a bar where we got drinks and some drinks but we never heard where these small plates went to.

Positive points of this hotel are the pool area which is large but never appears crowded and the service provided by some of the staff which is top notch. Special mention to Hassan in the pool bar who constantly kept us topped up with drinks whilst in the pool area. Also special mention to the barman in the Billiard bar whose name I have forgotten who was also efficient.

The food was good but not to the very high standard we expected or the choice which was limited with far less variety than other all-inclusives that we have stayed at in Turkey and Tunisia.

Negative points are the Gala night which was very loud, more limited food choice and the staff who were normally efficient being disorganised and poor. Furthermore the Pink party and Foam party at the pool were far too loud and would be more appropriate for a 18-30 holiday rather than an adults only hotel. The gym is also small with need of a refurb as does the bathrooms and the pool lining.

Our worst experience was with the man at the leather shop in the hotel who tries to sell over priced items and then tries to con you even further that quiting a silly exchange rates that means an item that shoukd cost £22 would cost £40 based on his figures. This happened in the last 24 hours of our stay which i did not get round to reporting.

Overall a nice relaxing stay which is what we wanted but we would not return based on the comments above which were explained to the hotel.

This was our first time visiting Sharm El Sheikh, and we chose Baron Palms for my husband’s birthday. We were really looking forward to the holiday, and overall we had a fantastic stay.

We did have a couple of issues when we first arrived, but I have to say the staff dealt with everything quickly and professionally.

When we checked in, we were initially given a standard room, despite having booked and paid for a pool-view room. We spoke to reception and this was immediately rectified, and we were given a third-floor room.

Unfortunately, our first night in that room was not great. The noise was unbelievable, with people singing, loud music and shouting from the room next door so we got very little sleep. We contacted reception and were asked to go back in the morning. Again, the issue was dealt with quickly and we were moved to a second-floor pool-view room.

And what a difference! Our new room was lovely. The bed was really comfortable, the room was perfect and the pool view was beautiful. From then on, we had a wonderful stay.

The hotel itself is honestly amazing. The pool is fabulous, the grounds are beautiful and the beach is only around a five-minute walk away.

The restaurant and food were also lovely. There was a great choice and, once again, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. Every member of staff we came across worked so hard and nothing ever seemed like too much trouble.

A special mention has to go to all the staff who made our stay so enjoyable. Their friendliness and willingness to help really stood out and made us feel so welcome.

Despite the couple of problems at the beginning, we were really impressed with how quickly everything was sorted. We ended up having a brilliant holiday and my husband had a fantastic birthday.

For our first visit to Sharm El Sheikh, Baron Palms was a great choice. We would definitely return and would happily recommend it to others. ❤️🇪🇬
