Located in the Sharks Bay area of Sharm El Sheikh, DoubleTree by Hilton offers a vibrant holiday setting close to the Red Sea’s crystal-clear waters. The resort is set across landscaped grounds and is ideal for couples, friends, and families looking to enjoy both relaxation and activities under the Egyptian sun.
Guests can enjoy multiple outdoor swimming pools surrounded by sun terraces, with dedicated areas for children. The resort offers a choice of restaurants serving international and local cuisine, and several bars including poolside and beach options. Additional amenities include a fitness centre, spa with a range of treatments, and various sports facilities.
Rooms are modern and comfortable, each featuring air conditioning, a private balcony or terrace, satellite TV, tea and coffee-making facilities, and a safe. Bathrooms come with a shower or bathtub, hairdryer, and complimentary toiletries. Upgraded rooms and suites offer extra space and enhanced amenities, some with sea views.
Mountainside On arrival, the reception team were far from welcoming. There was no hello or good evening, and unfortunately, no warm cookie either. We arrived just after midnight and were told that food would still be available for another 30 minutes, although we didn’t want anything to eat.
Our two rooms were large and clean. They were a little dated, but perfectly acceptable and comfortable. The bathroom was also a good size and had Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries and a BaByliss hairdryer.
The grounds are beautifully maintained, lovely and flat, and very easy to get around. There are three pools, including an adults-only pool, which was absolute bliss. The lifeguards were quick to act if a child entered the adults-only pool, which was reassuring.
The restaurant was large and clean, but unfortunately not big enough for the number of guests. It became extremely busy around both lunch and dinner times. There was always plenty of food available, although we did find the choice became repetitive during our stay.
The restaurant staff, bar staff, housekeepers and gardeners could not do enough for us and were always there with a smile. Unfortunately, we found the management team extremely standoffish. They rarely acknowledged guests when walking past, and on one occasion, a member of management did not even hold the door open when we were directly behind him.
The animation team were probably the biggest disappointment of the hotel. We received very little acknowledgment from them and rarely saw a smile. There were limited activities during the day, and the evening entertainment takes place at the stage next to the main gates, rather than within the main hotel grounds.
One incident particularly stood out. A man slipped at the pool and went down with a loud clatter. An animation team member was standing nearby but did not even look up from their phone to see if he was okay. In my opinion, that was extremely disappointing and showed a real lack of care.
Soho Square is around a five- to ten-minute walk from the hotel and is definitely worth a visit.
Overall, there are plenty of positives here: the rooms are spacious and comfortable, the grounds are lovely, the pools are excellent, and the majority of the staff are friendly and hardworking. However, the lack of warmth from reception and management, along with the animation team, really let the hotel down. If you stay here, I would definitely recommend getting out and about, booking some excursions and exploring.
Sharm El Sheikh and the surrounding area are well worth seeing. This is a wonderful part of the world, so don't spend your entire holiday inside the hotel.
This hotel was amazing! The entertainment staff was the best part of it. Ali Baba and Wania was lovely and friendly and you can tell how much they care about there job. They help with all the activities they do such as darts volleyball waterball zumba yoga and much much more. 110% would come again because of how much they helped me enjoy my time here!
Very good experience. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is fantastic. The amenities are very clean and sufficient. The housekeeping staff especially Abdul and Khalid were very attenentive to our needs. Mohamed the Supervisor of Housekeeping always ensured everything was done to a high standard. Definitely will return to this Hotel.
One of the things that made our stay truly special was the amazing animation team. They were not simply doing their jobs — you could genuinely feel that everything they did came from the heart, and that made a huge difference to our experience.
I would especially like to mention Marci and Ali, also known as “Ali Baba.” They were incredibly warm, friendly, and genuinely close to us as guests. They made us feel like we were part of the family rather than simply hotel guests. Their energy, kindness, and constant interaction with us throughout the day added an extraordinary amount of fun and positive energy to our stay.
What touched us most was that their activities never felt like something they were doing just because it was their job. Their enthusiasm felt completely genuine, and you could see that they truly enjoyed making guests happy. That kind of connection is something you remember long after the holiday is over.
A huge thank you to the entire animation team, and especially to Marci and Ali Baba, for making our stay so enjoyable and memorable. You are a big part of what made this trip special. ❤️
Keep doing what you do — you are truly amazing! 🌟
Unforgettable Stay – Wania Made Our Holiday! We had a fantastic time at the DoubleTree by Hilton Sharm El Sheikh - Sharks Bay, but a special mention has to go to Wania from the entertainment team! She was absolutely amazing from start to finish. Her energy was incredible, she kept everyone thoroughly engaged, and we had so much fun joining in on the darts and Zumba sessions with her. A extra special thank you to Wania for going above and beyond to make my wife’s birthday so special—it truly made our holiday unforgettable. She is brilliant at what she does! – Nasir, Huma, Sireen, and Ayaan
