Best experience ever.Exceellent service, good meals and the ambience.Very hospitable staff and good perfomance after dinner.I recommend.
Baobab didn’t work for us unfortunately.
We arrived from safari after a long day of travel, tired and covered in dust. The reception told us we have to check in ourselves through their app. Ok is there a WiFi? Yes but to connect to the WiFi you need a room number… iPhone didn’t like the connection so had to fiddle with th location. At this point I lost my patience and asked the reception to check us in.
We are on our honeymoon and booked baobab a year ago. The idea was there is a quiet adult only area and if we wanted entertainment there was one. Unfortunately the adult area was under renovation and is currently closed. We were told it would be opened by the end of July. Now they say the 15th of August but no way, August 2027 perhaps. The noise from the construction goes on well after 11pm.
I also liked the central location in Diane however after 15 min drive from the airport my husband said under no circumstances he goes back to that road again :) not hotel’s fault just saying.
So we had a stressful check in, walk into the resort and see a small swimming pool full of screaming kids, music blasting, red skinned parents getting drunk on all inclusive drinks…. It’s like Benidorm of Kenya. Sounds snobbish I know but :(
The beach is beautiful but the number of beach boys harassing you is unbelievable.
The room was big and had a sea view. The travel agent informed the hotel that we are on our honeymoon and the hotel gave us a complimentary bottle of wine. This is an all inclusive place remember. We didn’t expect anything but it’s the thought that counts and we appreciated it.
In the evening a housekeeper knocked saying he brought extra towels that we asked for. But we didn’t. He wasn’t convinced and pushed his way into the room looking around for someone who asked for the towels. I was in bed, we are on our honeymoon remember :) a few minutes later another one came bringing extra hangers that we didn’t ask for. The light was flickering, the phone was buzzing and pressure in the shower was nonexistent.
The food in the restaurant was good. We came out of the restaurant and saw a massive rat.
At this point we thought it really wasn’t working for us and asked the agent if they could move us somewhere else.
This holiday was supposed to be for my 50th birthday and the Woking branch of TUI didn’t advise us there was building work going on, I only found out after paying the balance that there was a red part on the booking with an advice notification, I called TUI and was advised there where minor alterations and it would be very minimal disruption, flight from Heathrow was late by 4.5 hours and on landing had our bags sent to nirobi airport instead of Mombasa first mess to sort out, then on arrival at baobab we drove into pretty much a building site there where two full wings under full refurbishment the main tiered swimming pool was closed two restaurants out of use , the ambi theatre was being pulled apart, paths being ripped up and other parts being worked on the noise went on until well after midnight most nights, the food was ok probably only about a 3 star and was very limited, the beach is a no go unless you want to get pestered constantly by looky looky men that don’t take no for an answer ok if you want a ride on a run Down jet ski, the beach is not private not at all as it looks on social media and promo videos, the hotel staff where very good and very polite, but the best part of the Holiday was not being at baobab resort and spa our Kenya holiday was made a good holiday by going on safari at Savo east and west and salt lick hotel.
Ok,decent.coming back next time
Such a lovely resort. All the staff were friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay. The buffet food was amazing and the staff around the pool were so friendly. Would 100% recommend to others. Many thanks :)
