- Neptune Paradise Beach Resort and Spa

Set on the peaceful shores of Galu Beach along Kenya’s South Coast, Neptune Paradise Beach Resort & Spa is surrounded by swaying palm trees and lush tropical gardens. The atmosphere here is laid-back and welcoming, offering a perfect blend of beachside tranquillity and activities for guests of all ages.
For those looking to stay active, there’s a large outdoor pool, tennis courts, table tennis, and organised daytime games. Water sports like windsurfing and canoeing are available, and the beach is just steps away for swimming or sunbathing. A small spa offers massages and wellness treatments, with options for deeper relaxation.
Dining is casual and varied, with a main buffet restaurant serving a mix of international and local flavours throughout the day. There are additional spots for snacks and drinks around the pool and near the beach.
Relax in one of the charming thatched cottages scattered throughout the grounds. Each cottage houses a small number of rooms to ensure peace and privacy, with options that include garden-facing and sea-view settings. Inside, you’ll find air conditioning, mosquito nets, satellite TV, a minibar, a safe, tea and coffee facilities, and a private balcony or terrace with outdoor seating.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
I loved the place it was amazing Lovely amenities and staff Would recommend to everyone
We stayed at Neptune Paradise and unfortunately came away disappointed overall. There are some genuinely good things about the hotel, and we did encounter some lovely members of staff, but the quality of the food, drinks and service fell well below what we expected from a hotel of this standard. Starting with the positives, the hotel is in a lovely location and the grounds and pools are excellent. Our room was well located, spacious and comfortable, and the air conditioning was extremely effective. The gym is also good for a resort hotel. Breakfast was decent, the beer was good, and the puddings were generally very nice. Some members of staff were also genuinely friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the food at lunch and dinner was the biggest disappointment. The quality of the meat in particular was extremely poor. Many cuts were barely half edible once bones, fat and gristle had been removed. There was a good piece of roast beef, but it was over cooked and dry. We also saw flies and wasps crawling over food on the buffet, especially the puddings, which obviously wasn't pleasant. The alternative restaurants didn't really solve the problem. The Italian restaurant was booked up around five days in advance, meaning we were only able to eat there once during our stay, and we were surprised that we had to choose our meals at the time of booking. We were also surprised, when walking past, to find the restaurant was half empty most of the time, making us wonder why we could only eat there once. Given the quality of the meat elsewhere, we decided against trying the Indian restaurant. The drinks were another weak point. The house white wine was essentially undrinkable – and we are certainly not connoisseurs! The red was just about drinkable, there was no rosé available, cocktails were inconsistent, and soft drinks were frequently served flat. Service was very mixed. Some staff were lovely, but unfortunately too many of the waiting staff came across as unfriendly or inattentive. Getting drinks could take a very long time,m especially at the Village bar. On one occasion we waited around ten minutes just to order, only three of our four drinks arrived, and the waiter then simply moved on to serve somebody else without acknowledging the missing drink. On another occasion, in the main restaurant, our drinks didn't arrive until all four of us had finished our main courses. Empty glasses were always collected without anyone asking if we wanted another drink. In the whole week, there was only one exception to this, Even getting something as simple as a spoon could take several minutes. We encountered dirty glasses and plates, some of the sunbeds were dirty, the internet connectivity was poor, and we found the evening entertainment fairly unimpressive, although entertainment isn't particularly important to us. One incident with housekeeping was particularly frustrating. Our son was in the room when the cleaner arrived and asked if they could come back later. They refused, so he had to leave the room to allow them to clean it. It was a small incident, but symptomatic of the lack of customer-focused service we experienced in several areas. Overall, there is a lot about Neptune Paradise that could make it a very good resort. The location, pools, rooms and grounds provide a strong foundation, and there are some excellent members of staff. Unfortunately, for us, the poor quality of much of the food and drink and the consistently inattentive service overshadowed those positives. We weren't expecting perfection, and some of the issues individually would have been easy to overlook. The problem was the accumulation of them. We are not particularly fussy, we tend to crack on with stuff and are by no means foodies. For a hotel marketed at this level, we expected significantly better food quality, cleanliness and service.
Usually stay at Baobab but decided to try neptune for a change. It’s a nice hotel, great location and clean recently refurbished rooms. Gym is well equiped as is the spa. Housekeeping was efficient and responsive. Service in the restaurants and general areas is wanting. Drinks at the restaurant and bars are slow to be served and no one takes initiative to help unless its their direct responsibility. So you are directed to someone else and they direct you to another person. Would easily have been a five star review if this was addressed.
A wonderful hotel! Nice, comfortable, and clean rooms, delicious food, and very friendly staff. I highly recommend it.
During our family vacation we really enjoyed the hotel facilities and especial the position, near the beach. The stuff was very friendly, all our demand were satisfied. Maybe the variety of food and drinks can be a negative aspect. Thank you for all!
