Eden Andalou Aquapark and Spa

Arrived 13 September at 09.30 to be told can’t get wristbands until 11.00 never had that before at all inclusive hotel room wasn’t ready we asked for a walk in shower given 102 shower over a bath so next morning asked to upgrade or move showed us another room with private terrace but still same shower over a bath finally got the room we needed 134 . The food wasn’t great same stuff nearly every day my partner is gluten free and struggled with the food they did make gluten free bread and pasta but bread wasn’t available every day . The pools didn’t look anything like in the pictures the entertainment was non existent so the evening was boring especially as there is nothing to do around the hotel . The spa was good but you have to pay to use the in door pool which was never said booking our holiday . The drinks aren’t great either the hotel definitely isn’t five stars you can’t help yourself to food at lunch and dinner they serve you and they don’t like giving you a lot there’s a lot of birds flying in and out of the restaurant there was building work going on not told that either . We had to ask for towels for the room two days in a row as they weren’t left during cleaning you pay 200 dirham per pool towel get back when leaving.we got late check out at 15.00 as our pick up was after 18.00, the key stopped working at midday? As soon as you check out your wristband is cut off straight away so you can’t get a drink or food if you’re there for a few hours after check out .i wouldn’t come back to the hotel or Marrakech

There are positives for sure. Location - super quick from the airport Staff - Happiness and Jimmy - entertainment. Such lovely guys. Also the boys by the outside seating in the evening- always a smile and so friendly. Pool- good size and temperature. Allowed inflatables.

Now the negatives

This is not a 5 star by any stretch. I would push to say a 4 star if I’m honest.

Room was ok - very big but air con not great at all. Still hot at night. No sockets by the bed We had a bath with a shower but no shower screen so the bathroom floor would get wet if not careful.

Drinks - literally 1 or 2 cocktails but most cocktails you have to pay for. No staff that come round the pool to offer drinks. All fizzy barely fizzy if not flat.

The guys outside were brilliant with drinks but during lunchtime you could ask 4 or 5 times for a drink before you received one!

My husband told the waitress that most of the coffee cups were chipped or dirty and she said I know and just placed them back as he was looking for a clean one.

Food We got food poisoning on the second night within a few hours of dinner. Both violently sick etc etc. Unable to eat for 24 hours and fairly scared to drink also. We told the receptionist who said no one else had reported it - maybe so but we had spoken to others that had been ill. No apologies or offers if we needed anything.

Food just warm. Not a great selection and food labelling poor.

Do not leave your food unattended outside or in for that matter as the birds will be on it eating it. Lots of birds inside the restaurant as well.

If you go to the speciality restaurant that you are entitled to- you will be charged for the drinks that you can have when you step outside the restaurant for at the bar. Also not explained to you at the time of eating.

First hotel that I have been to that has ever stopped the all inclusive after lunchtime, and also when we arrived at 9:30am we were told we couldn’t have a band until the 11am.

Construction work going on onsite which you hear drilling during the day. Should have been pre warned of this.

We only came for 4 days for a quick break and some sunshine which is what we got. Just very disappointed with the hotel.

Will go back to Iberostar Waves in Marrakech that we have been to twice this year. Just thought we would give this one a try as advertised as 5 star. Previous hotel is 4 star but underrated.

Just spent a week here in September. Hotel is clean with a strong Moroccan theme. Rooms are large and kept nice and clean/tidy by the staff, with strong air con.

All inclusive package is reasonable with most standard drinks available, wines, beers, mixers, cocktails. Medium sized buffet with definitely better than average all inclusive food, although maybe worth noting for the brits that you won’t get any pork bacon/sausages here. There’s options for all tastes from lesser known Moroccan dishes to chicken and chips/pasta on every day. Two restaurant visits were included in our stay, both were good though the Moroccan restaurant was best.

The evening bar was a highlight for us. The team there are very attentive, particularly Ali, who introduced himself early in our stay and looked after us excellently every time we went.

Pool area is really nice, friendly staff, aqua gym is good fun and it’s never too busy. There were enough loungers, although it’s best to get out and reserve one with a towel before about 9am if you want poolside. Was made to feel very welcome by the guy who wears the England shirt and runs most activities (sorry I didn’t catch a name) and Yacine (apologies on spelling) behind the bar.

The gym here is a strong point, decent cardio options, lots of strength training machines and free weights. Although it can get a bit warm in there.

Spa treatments are also really good considering the prices and range of treatments available.

Only went to the water park once, although it’s obviously aimed more at kids. This wasn’t as premium feeling as the main hotel complex, but the slides are good fun and the staff are a good laugh.

Overall the hotel creates a nice closed off feeling oasis-like vibe that’s entertaining and safe for couples or families.
