Wouldn’t recommend

Title: Extremely disappointing – nothing like the website

Unfortunately, our stay at Les Jardins in Agadir has been extremely disappointing. In our opinion, the hotel does not match the description or photos shown on the website.

This feels like a very basic 3-star hotel, and we certainly don’t feel it provides the standard we expected when booking.

The room is very outdated, the food is very limited and the Wi-Fi is appalling. There are no lifts, and when we arrived in the early hours we had to carry three suitcases up three flights of stairs. We weren’t even offered a bottle of water after our journey.

The main pool is another problem. By 7am, all the sunbeds are already taken, so unless you’re up extremely early, don’t expect to get one.

We asked reception if we could move rooms, but the gentleman on reception repeatedly said “no, no, no” and was extremely rude and dismissive. We were simply trying to get some help with our concerns.

We also found the atmosphere between the French and English-speaking guests uncomfortable, and having to wear an armband throughout the stay was another frustration.

We have tried to raise our concerns directly with the hotel, but unfortunately we have not felt listened to or valued as guests.

Overall, we would not recommend this hotel. The website gives a much better impression than the reality we have experienced. Please do your research carefully before spending your money here.

A very honest review

We arrived home Yesterday and this is a very HONEST REVIEW:

Hotel: first impressions i was OMG what have we done (family of 6, 2 adults, 2 teens, 2 young children) from the outside it looked awful as writing come off sign and the staff didn’t seem very welcoming. We got our wrist bands and staff took our bags to the room with us. Was told to go start to dinner as we arrived quite late. The rooms are very spacious and the bathroom was good. shower worked well but temperature was hot & cold no continuous temperature. we had a in connective room which was great for my teens. Rooms were cleaned every morning with out fail but needed to remind them to have fresh towels.

Food: not sure where to start. If you have young children who are fussy this is not the hotel for them. They do not cater for children. Yes you get chicken nuggets and pasta everyday, chips only at lunch time & pizza only at lunch time. The food was ok but me and my husband had bad guts from day 4 and cold not shift it. Breakfast was good, with hot food, pastries, ham, cheeses, yogurts and cereal. There is a coffee machine and juice machine. Lunch we found good as the BBQ was on everyday. If you like meet rice and potatoes you will be happy. Dinner was the worst for us as all looked like stodgy and just not appetising. the waiter serves is not brilliant every day we had to ask for our table to be cleared and cleaned with new cutlery set. if you want wine and water on your table again ask.

Swimming pools: These were amazing the big one gets busy and will need to get up early to reserve sun beds. The big pool is warmer them the other and this is where all the entertainment happens during the day. The children pool is more quiet and always got a sun bed there. The aqua park is really good fun and will have hours of enjoyment from there, just be aware the life guard love his whistle (their national anthem lol that what a taxis driver told us)

The pools were clean and tidy.

Entertainment crew: These guys were our highlight of the hotel. so friendly and welcoming and trying to get you involved with all activities. (always take part it’s so fun) they do pool parties, foam parties, shows, quizzes, bingo, kids disco, and a Moroccan night on a Thursday which is a must see. Big shout out to Simba and Salah they were amazing with our family. Most of the entertainment is in french but we didn’t mind that.

Excursions: we did the quad bikes, camel ride and sand-boarding; do it you will not regret it, it was the best afternoon/evening for us. Dolphin show don’t bother was not brilliant, only one dolphin and not catered for English, all in french. Croc park and goats climbing the trees is a must see. don’t forget to tip the shepard’s where the goats are.

weather: we been told to avoid Agadir in July and Aug because of the sea mist. and yes there a lot. we had 3 days out of 7 which was wall to wall blue sky the rest misty and can be cold. Every morning mist and clears by lunch then afternoon and evening clear and beautiful.

Would i return? Yes in May or September for the weather. No because of food so we would go back Bed and breakfast if we returned.

There seems to be a lot of theft around the pool areas with this going missing so be careful with your belongings.

I hope this reviews helps other people who are worried about arriving. How the best time and embrace their culture.

Id think twice

Were do I even begin? We booked this hotel expecting a nice similar experience we had when we visited Turkey. What we actually ended up with was a week full of stress. Being argued with by staff over money or something out of our control. Finding pests in our rooms and being brushed off by staff when ever we brought up an issue. Seriously if e thinking of booking this hotel, have young kids and arent French, please read this first.

Right from the get go there was a headache. All the paperwork that was required to fill out was strictly in French. ( thank god for google translate.) Once filled out we got handed a bill for nearly 1700 Derham for the local tourism tax. That sounded a bit steep and low and behold they had charged us full price even with 2 out of the 4 of our kids being under 12 and exempt. After bringing this up, rather than check their policies they became and aggressive, demanding full payment. I shouldnt have to prove them wrong to avoid being ripped off.

To say its a family friendly place i a reach, especially if you have a push chair or toddler. Yes there are a few ramps here and there but the entire complex is filled steps. And to make matters worse there was even a few steps in our suites. Trying to manage little ones was a nightmare.

The rooms had decent air-conditioning, a TV and even a mini fridge. That was ruined though when we found cockroaches behind the TV and in the bathroom. When we told the front desk they just shrugged it off like it wasn't their problem and didnt care. In keeping with the staff even a do not disturb sign on your door handles isnt enough to stop the cleaners trying to enter your room at 7:30am.

For an all-inclusive holiday the food was shocking. Most of the food seemed unsafe or inedible, we basically lived of plain spaghetti, chips and nuggets. The options were repetitive and one evening my child cut into a burger patty to find it still raw on the inside. Again the staff didnt care. Flies were seen buzzing all around the buffet area, even landing on the uncovered food. Cats could he seen weaving in and out of the tables in the dining hall and you couldnt escape the smell of cat litter and feces on the outside walkways. There were only small tables for 2 or 4 people so as a family of 6 we had to take up 2 of them which earned us some scathing looks from staff. One waiter even snatched cutlery out of my hand because I dared take some from an empty neighbouring table because ours had none. We ended up having to order takeaway food from outside the hotel just to make sure our family got a safe hot meal. On an all-inclusive.

Every drink we got either from the bar or drink dispensers had a really weird and salty taste to it. We had to stick to bottled water but they made even that simple task difficult only being able to get one from the main bar or from the dining area during meal times.

There didnt seem.like there was much for the kids to do. Yes there was a little football pitch but there was holes in the turf that kids could easily trip in and twist an ankle. The slides have seen better days and also had cloudy water which was off putting. The smaller pool was always over crowded with nowhere to sit and the main pool was missing tiles and depth markers. Plus it only had about a small area where you could actually touch the floor. So it quickly became crowded.

Everything caters strictly to French of French speaking guests. All.the entertainment and shows were 100% in French and none French speaking guests were basically ignored. To top it off the entertainment staff would literally push right past guests to cut the buffet line.

Overall..... Save your money and go somewhere else. A 4* hotel shouldnt mean eating raw food. Dodging cat poo or finding cockroaches in your room. You shouldnt be treated like a nuisance by the staff every time you go to them with a problem. Very very disappointing stay.
