The View Agadir Magically Royal Ocean

My friend and I stayed here for five nights. We had booked a balcony room with a view of the pool. It was deluxe but not a suite as apparently all of the suites have double beds and we wanted twin beds. We found the reception staff very friendly and helpful. However we were disappointed with the ‘pool view’ room location as we could only see the poo if we leaned over the balcony railings, the view from the bedroom was across at the other rooms which we could see straight into. When we sat on the seat on the balcony we could not see the pool at all which was a shame as we wanted to sit on the balcony with drinks on evening. The pool was beautifully maintained although it was freezing cold and the gardens were very well maintained too. The breakfast buffet choice was spectacular and we found the service very good apart from waiting for tea and coffee which we could not serve ourselves. This often took some time. We felt that there were issues with maintenance in some areas of the hotel …not quite 5 stars but generally we were very happy with our choice of accommodation. The hotel location was excellent …very close to shops and very good restaurants. We also had evening cocktails at NASCAR on the beach to watch the sunset. The service was great. Our only real issues was the view from our balcony and the price of the drinks around the pool area…they were ridiculously expensive … a glass of wine was 4 times the price of the bar near the hotel which was a shame…. if they had been more reasonably priced we definitely would’ve bought a lot of drinks around the pool. The quality of the food at the breakfast buffet was also excellent and the staff cleaning the bedrooms were also very good. It was a bit strange that the toilet is separate to the bathroom with no sink which meant I was not able to wash my hands when my friend was in the shower and I had been to the toilet. Also there was milk in the fridge for tea and coffee but this was not replenished during our stay. The security was very good at the hotel which was reassuring and there was regularly a police car parked opposite on the street which we found quite reassuring too.

This was our first time in Morocco and everyone at The View made us feel more than welcome. We really felt the love from everyone.

A late-night arrival meant that our complimentary upgrade to a Deluxe King room with a pool view was very much appreciated, and from that moment on we settled into what became one of the most restful weeks we’ve ever had.

Where to start? Everything and everyone was a delight.

The pool area is glorious – beautifully kept, peaceful and with plenty of places to relax in the sun or shade. The private beach area was another highlight for us, particularly the wonderful double cabanas where we spent hours reading, resting and doing very little at all.

And then there is the breakfast.

It blew every other hotel breakfast we’ve experienced out of the water by a Moroccan mile. The choice is extraordinary, but it was the whole experience we loved. The beautiful display of fresh flowers and the scent of lilies as we arrived each morning, the wonderful coffee, the calm atmosphere and, most of all, the fabulous breakfast staff. ❤️ They made every morning feel special.

Housekeeping were consistent throughout our stay and made sure we returned each day to a clean room, fresh towels and a gorgeously made bed. They were always friendly too.

And a strange little thing that we absolutely loved – the smell of the corridor leading to our room whenever we returned from a day out was sublime. How do they do that? It was one of those tiny details that somehow added to the feeling of coming back somewhere special.

Our only small mystery was the pool and beach towels – some days ours didn’t feel quite as freshly laundered as we might have hoped. Perhaps best not to investigate too closely while in paradise!

The complimentary Illy coffee in our room each morning was fabulous and very much appreciated, although on a couple of days we did have to ask for it to be replenished.

The location is perfect, right on the main promenade and around a 30-minute taxi ride from the airport. The immediate area around the hotel always felt safe and pleasant to us, whether we were wandering out during the day or heading somewhere for dinner in the evening.

We were spoilt for choice with local places to eat, all within a short walk of the hotel, with great prices and plenty of options for vegans.

We would actually have loved to eat in some of the hotel’s many beautiful restaurants, but unfortunately we found the vegan choices quite limited and the prices on the high side, particularly when there was so much excellent vegan-friendly food available just a few minutes away. If The View expanded its vegan offering, we would happily eat there on a future stay.

And perhaps one of the loveliest surprises of our first visit to Morocco was the warmth of the Moroccan people we met. There was a friendliness and generosity towards us that we hadn’t expected, and it became a really special part of the holiday.

Why did we only book one week? Well, we’ve learned our lesson. We’ll be back very soon for more of this little piece of paradise.

Firstly the breakfast staff and breakfast food fantastic, the pool guys especially Ossama 5 star and the Delli bar relaxed and serviced by a young man called Ammen (needs a promotion) again 5 star. But the reception staff as said in previous reviews and from our experience last year let the side down. We had numerous problems with our bed ,room not being serviced and things just being missed, interaction with reception staff not good.
