Olympic Lagoon Resort Ayia Napa

Had a lovely holiday with family. Great food and staff amazing especially Khalid better known as Habibi who was especially attentive giving an exceptional bar service providing drinks and good conversation. Whether you are a couple or family the hotel caters for your needs. Pool staff and reception staff very supportive. Loved the fact that you did not need to fight for sunbeds and the beach towels were excellent fitting over the sunbeds very well.

Long review so please bear with me.

The first thing I would say is that the staff at this hotel are amazing. Such a clean place, everywhere is clean and tidy.

The food options are amazing, very good quality food, great choice of food and very plentiful. There is a small section for children too. There are a few à la carte restaurants available to book during your stay. We went to the Greats twice which we loved, the shrimp cocktail was gorgeous and also the Asian restaurant, we didn’t enjoy the food here but the location and atmosphere there was brilliant. We mainly used the buffet restaurant which was really good, the Adult only section was brilliant. We also used the American diner a few times, which was great, nice food and good atmosphere. The snack bar has lots of selection of different foods too. The ice cream shop is fab, ice cream/milk shakes/slushes and water available. Lovely ice cream too. The pools are amazing, lots of room, two big pools, lazy river and an adults only pool bar, Ivo at this bar is so friendly, he will make you a ‘special cocktail’ with whichever spirit you like, and they are amazing. He is such a hardworking person. The entertainment is really good, the evening shows are fab. The entertainment team were very good and so professional. I couldn’t honestly pick a best show, they were all really good to be fair. It does get busy but they will always find you a table to watch the show, which finishes at 10.30pm, we then went bank to the pool bar, where they normally have a singer until 11pm. You could also sit up in the terrace or go to the adult only bar. Do always somewhere to sit and enjoy a lovely cocktail. The bar and waiting staff are all so friendly and helpful.
The sunbeds are allocated to you when you arrive and so there are no sunbed wars 🤣 you go to the towel station when you arrive and they show you a map of the sunbeds and you pick where you would like to go, you keep these beds for the duration of your holiday, but you can change location if you want to. There is a lady who walks around offering to spray you with a cooling mist, clean your sunglasses or offer you a cooling flannel. Lovely little touches. There is an adult only section called Fisherman’s village and a small hotel Olympic Bay which is on Landa beach, but we did not use these.

The rooms we had were very spacious, clean and comfortable. I was a bit concerned as the bathroom and bedroom have a floor to ceiling window between them but it was ok as there is a roller blind there so you can just keep that down. Bit weird though.

If you go out of the resort through the door near the scoops ice cream parlour you are on Nissi Avenue. If you turn left you can walk to Landa beach (5 minute walk this is across the road) if you carry on walking along Nissi Avenue fir about 15minutes you will get to Nissi beach, which is stunning. If you don’t want yo wxx as ok along the road you can go onto Landa beach and walk along the coastal path. If you turn right out of the resort, there is a beach on the opposite side of the road Makronissos beach. A supermarket and a few bars, not many though. If you carry on walking either along the road or you can walk through the waste ground/beach and you get to Ayia Napa marina, boats, coffee shops and shops here. Or you can catch a bus on Nissi Avenue to Ayia Napa harbour for lots of shops/bars etc

We had an amazing holiday here and would definitely return.

Just a mention to a few members of staff who we found were absolutely amazing, so friendly, welcoming, knowledgable and so good at their jobs. Andrea (main restaurant and the Greats) and Lydia (main restaurant) and Ivo, adult pool bar.

All of the pool bar staff were amazing too.

This is our second visit here and I can honestly say it is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff are amazing, so is the food. The buffet is amazing, different good quality options. Big thank you to Ivo at the Serenity Pool for fantastic service and amazing cocktails. We drank at the bar by the pool every evening watching the live music. Fanos served us and never failed to make us laugh. Especially when he told my husband he looked like Pierluigi Collina 😂 As Arnie would say, we will be back!
