The hotel is approximately 180 metres from a natural golden sandy beach, with landscaped gardens and open green spaces creating a relaxing environment. Paphos town, shops and a selection of local attractions are only a short drive away, making it easy to explore the area while enjoying a quiet coastal base.
We came to Azia Resort & Spa for a family holiday and stayed on a half-board basis. Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay, and what stood out most for us was the exceptional level of service from the staff.
The hotel is around 30 minutes from the airport, which made the transfer very convenient. There is also a local shopping mall about 10 minutes away. For lunch, we found that Wolt was widely used locally, so it was easy to order food if we wanted something different during the day.
When we first arrived, the atmosphere was incredibly quiet and tranquil, as the hotel was only around 20% occupied. After a few days, however, the hotel became much busier and reached around 90% capacity. Despite the increase in guests, the staff continued to provide a very high level of service.
Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean, which was especially important for us as a family.
The best part of our stay was definitely the staff. Mrs Nino, the restaurant manager at Katoi, was fantastic. She was incredibly attentive and went out of her way to make sure our children had food they would actually enjoy. Her attention to detail and warm approach really made a difference to our experience.
Fernando from Guest Relations was also excellent. He took the time to understand what we wanted to do as a family and helped us choose an activity that everyone could enjoy. We ended up going to the Blue Lagoon, which was one of the highlights of our holiday. There are plenty of activities available, including buggy excursions taking you to the sea caves and waterfalls.
We also ventured into the harbour during the day, although it was extremely hot, and returned again in the evening when the atmosphere was completely different. In the evening, the harbour was buzzing with people, restaurants and a great holiday atmosphere.
Denise at the front of house was another member of the team who deserves a special mention. She was extremely helpful with arranging taxis and answering any questions we had throughout our stay.
Also the entertainment team were great, there were lots of activities for the kids to do, they had a games room for the evening although you had to be 12 years old, my 8 and 4 year old really enjoyed playing foosball.
Lastly, just wanted to mention the Cipro restaurant - the chefs and staff there were exceptional and again very attentive to our needs.
Overall, Azia Resort & Spa is a great choice for a family holiday, particularly if you value friendly and attentive service. The facilities, location and comfortable rooms were all good, but it was genuinely the staff who made our stay memorable. A special thank you to Nino, Fernando and Denise for making us feel so well looked after.
We may have got unlucky here but I struggle with the 4.6 rating. We’ve had a mixed experience in room 013. The positives are the hotel is very clean and the majority of the staff are happy to help. Others don’t seem overly happy. Alexia at the pool bar is the shining star and deserves to be running the pool bar. The negatives centre around the food and sheer number of people here. The buffet is pretty dire. The à la carte restaurants are hard to get in and the Italian was really bad. I gather the hotel has received 300 more guests this week than they had planned and have received complaints. Upon checking out I was asked if I had enjoyed my stay. I explained the last 2-3 days have been really poor. No Sun beds unless you camp out early. I got a shrug and was charged 14.50 Euros for mini-bar drinks. Kinda summed it up for me. We booked all inclusive but ate out locally a few nights. Nice enough hotel but wouldn’t book again, which is a shame.
This is a nice hotel but never a 5 star.
Good points
The hotel is spotless and majority of staff work tirelessly. Rooms cleaned twice a day and even spot checked daily to make sure the standards were good.
Shout outs to Denise on reception, Demis the bellboy, Bhin in the pool bar and the lady whose name I didn't get who has grey short hair who works in the restaurants at night time. These people made our holiday and were AMAZING.
Bad points.
There is no atmosphere by the pool as the music was so quiet it was nearly non existent. All the activities by the pool were for older kids and next to nothing for smaller kids. Ours were aged 4 and 7. The kids mini disco was in a conference room away out the way and was a total waste of time. A few songs on a laptop. We suggested that this should be on the stage with the lights and music and we were laughed at. 1 of the staff was videoing the children 1 night which we had an issue with and reported it but no1 ever came back to us on it and nothing was done about it. The entertainment team didn't get to know any of the kids, they weren't walking round the pool drumming up interest for the daily activities and there was no updates about daily entertainment apart from 1 notice board. There is only 1 bar and the kids are not allowed in which makes it really difficult to sit out at nights. When asked where we could go with the kids we were advised the reception. There's an old angry lady works in the bar with glasses who never smiles and makes you feel very uncomfortable on purpose. As there was 4 of us there was a double bed and 2 single beds in our room and there was no space for this. Nowhere to put clothes and we were falling over each other there was so little space. We stayed in a superior room with sea view.
A couple we met made a complaint about most of the points above while we were there and had a meeting with Mr George who rubbished all there points and offered to upgrade them to free meals to try and appease them.
Overall it's a nice hotel but I would say it seems like it was an adults only hotel who have since started allowing families with children to go to get more business during these difficult times as it's just not kid friendly.
Azia Resort & Spa is an amazing hotel from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel completely at home by the fantastic staff, who gave the entire resort such a warm, attentive, and welcoming family feel throughout our stay. There are simply too many staff members to mention who went above and beyond to make our stay special! Special thanks to the entertainment crew who kept energy high with great activities like water polo and aqua zumba, and the pool bar staff who were always so attentive. A particularly memorable moment was having drinks with management to watch the sunset—the views were absolutely amazing. The hotel grounds are impeccably looked after, and the entire property is kept extremely clean. We also loved seeing the resident cats around the grounds, who were clearly so well looked after! Our rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard, making our stay effortless and comfortable. A highlight of our stay was the fantastic dining choices on site. The Katoi buffet restaurant was fantastic with different theme nights, a great variety of dishes every day, and we also thoroughly enjoyed our dinners at Oku, the Family Meze, and Ciro. Every single meal was fantastic. The evening entertainment was great and good fun, and there were live singers in the Cava Bar every night, and the cocktails throughout the resort were made to perfection! We had a wonderful stay and didn't want to leave. We cannot recommend Azia Resort & Spa highly enough. We would return in a heartbeat!
We had a one night stop over following a flight cancellation due to BA technical issues. We were all feeling quite frazzled after unexpectedly having our trip extended but the hotel put us at ease immediately with their warm welcome in the early hours! It’s a beautiful setting, gorgeous views, lovely rooms, quiet and tranquil with amazing views and walks. I felt lucky to be staying there. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful to us, they were all amazing, so grateful for making us feel welcomed and helping us onto our journey home. Thank you for our gift of marmalade I have just enjoyed it for my first breakfast home, delicious! Charlotte
