I really wanted to enjoy my stay here, but Hotel Miramar fell drastically short of expectations. To give credit where it’s due, first impressions were fantastic. The lobby is absolutely gorgeous, remarkably well-kept, and sets a high bar upon arrival. Unfortunately, that is where the positives end. Once you step past reception, the drop in quality is jarring: • Dilapidated & Poorly Maintained Rooms: The accommodations are completely neglected. Rather than a properly maintained space, the rooms feel like an old, beat-up Hotel Zone Cancun property from college—not even up to the standard of a decent Riviera Maya resort. Between the visible cracks in the countertops, dirt on the walls, and noticeable mildew, it’s clear basic maintenance has been ignored for years. It feels like all the budget went into keeping the lobby pristine while the guest rooms were completely abandoned. • Unresponsive Communication: Getting a response from management or staff is an uphill battle. It takes them forever to acknowledge messages or resolve simple requests. • Disingenuous Policy Handling: The service issues go beyond mere slow responses. As an Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts / Marriott Elite guest, I was flatly told that no room upgrades were available. Yet, live inventory clearly showed multiple upgraded categories wide open for booking. Claiming otherwise was completely disingenuous and transparently dishonest. While a pretty lobby makes for a nice initial impression, a hotel ultimately relies on well-kept rooms, basic cleanliness, and honest customer service. Until management undertakes a serious top-to-bottom effort to fix room conditions and front-desk practices, I would strongly suggest booking elsewhere.
Beautiful hotel, very nice and comfortable room, excellent facilities, restaurants and excellent people. We enjoyed everything, specially the support of Aurelia from de HAUTE vip area that was on top of all the details for making our experience brilliant. Very surprised with Makris restaurant superb menu and also with restaurant 1962, changing menu every day with very good food. A special congratulations to Adrian for his attentions and to Aurelia for her support and kindness, which made the difference.
This is a superb hotel. Beautiful setting and wonderfully close to the seashore.
Restaurants are all excellent - faultless breakfast and all four restaurants were excellent, especially in fact the main restaurant 1962. NB the Asian restaurant is called ‘RAW’ and it means it if you are expecting Thai Green curry or egg fried rice as we were!
We were lucky to have the Haute Living perk included in our stay and we headed there everyday for complimentary drinks, all day nibbles and a (generally) quiet and chilled out sunbed area.
It’s a really high standard at the hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Trip to old Corfu Town was superb as well and the hotel helped make that happen.
If we were to leave two pointers for the hotel then it would be areas we felt they fell short when clearly they are aiming for the highest of standard - take some of the tired bath towels, mats and dressing gowns out of circulation and stop telling the cleaners to switch the air con off. In the height of summer, returning to a cool room is longed for and it is irritating and misplaced penny pinching to find the cleaner has pulled the spare key from the slot or actually taken it with them altogether.
A fantastic hotel though, we loved it.
After learning the hard way that in Corfu the star-rating system here occasionally operates on…optimism, and creative interpretation?…we found a hotel where five stars actually means five stars. What a concept! This place is an absolute breath of fresh air. It’s built into an old olive grove, so instead of feeling like you’ve been dropped into a giant generic resort compound, you’re surrounded by gorgeous old olive trees, greenery, and the kind of peaceful Mediterranean setting you thought you were booking when you planned a vacation to Corfu in the first place. Then there are the cats. Tiny cats. Sleepy cats. Cats lounging under olive trees. Cats casually wandering around looking like they personally inherited the property from their Greek grandfather. I would like to formally recognize them as part of the hospitality staff. Five stars for the cats alone. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean, calm, and actually feels premium. The beach is right there, and — another shocking development — the beach lounge chairs are complimentary for hotel guests. No surprise €40 fee. You simply… sit in the chair. Revolutionary. Breakfast is also complimentary and genuinely good, which makes waking up here even better. Coffee, breakfast, pools, sea views, cats milling around conducting important hotel business — suddenly Corfu and I are friends again. And I really cannot emphasize the atmosphere enough. It feels peaceful and understated rather than enormous and chaotic. You can actually relax. You can breathe. You can look around and think, “Ah yes, THIS is why people come to Greece.” Staying here was borderline therapeutic. Beautiful grounds. Wonderful beach. Free loungers. Great breakfast. Adorable feline management team. Actual five-star quality. No notes. Incredible staff who helped us in any way possible is the icing on the cake. You need a car? It will be there in 10. You need plans? Itinerary comes your way in a blink of an eye. Truly fabulous people and hotel. If not staying in Corfu Town (city center) this is the ONLY place to consider.
The beach is beautiful, clean, and peaceful, with amazing water and a long stretch of shallow sea. After crossing about one metre of small stones, you reach a lovely sandy bottom. The hotel itself is very pretty and offers the perfect setting for a relaxing stay. The staff are extremely friendly, attentive, and professional, making you feel pampered throughout your stay without ever being intrusive. The facilities are also excellent, with high-quality equipment in the gym and beautiful swimming pools. We particularly appreciated that, even at different times of the day, we never had to wait long to find a sunbed at the beach. Overall, it is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a beautiful, well-maintained environment with genuinely attentive service.
