Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
A beautiful, friendly and charming hotel which never felt crowded and was always welcoming.
We stayed for a week and in the height of summer holidays, we never had to rush for sunbeds, dinner reservations or wait to be served. The staff were always faultlessly polite, friendly and welcoming.
The HB package would not normally be my choice as I like to eat out but the food was varied and mostly delicious. Even the main buffet restaurant had à la carte options and you could eat at one of 2 other restaurants, getting 25% off the bill if you chose that instead.
The layout is thoughtfully designed and having plenty of idyllic spots to relax, you’ll find it hard to leave the grounds.
If you’re thinking of a Greek holiday at a higher end hotel then St Nicolas Bay should absolutely be on your shortlist, we loved it.
What sets this hotel apart is how many places there are to be. You can spend the morning at the infinity pool, move to the cliffside lounge area overlooking the water — it genuinely reminded us of La Fontelina in Capri — and then head down to the beach area with actual sand. Even in high season we never once hunted for a lounge chair, which anyone who travels in August will understand is no small thing.
The half board was both convenient and delicious, with real variety across the week rather than the same rotation reheated. Wine prices were reasonable, which is a lovely and increasingly rare thing at a hotel of this caliber.
As a family, we felt looked after. There’s a playground and a dedicated kids’ area, and the staff were warm with our daughter everywhere we went — never the tolerated-child treatment you sometimes get at more design-forward properties.
We cannot wait to come back.
Well, I must have arrived at a different hotel because the some of the negative reviews from May are not vaguely a reflection of our blissful week here and I'm a very picky customer?! This place is a fabulous, luxury resort, but laid back and not the overpriced pretentious chrome and glass overpriced hotels with no character. Service is excellent, we needed emergency supplies when we arrived at 1am and the manager arranged to have their shop opened up for us in the middle of the night. Nothing is too much trouble. Everyone is lovely and friendly and chatty whilst being professional. Theres the little touches like a mini bar that doesnt actually cost the earth and the snacks are the same price as in the shops. Not the eyewatering prices in the other hotels. Its spaced out enough that nothing is over crowded. And our favourite part is the gorgeous little private beach with the little buttons to press for table service on your sun lounger. But be warned it will make you very very lazy. We didnt want to leave and am actually considering rebooking next year which I never do. This place has absolutely spoiled us. We found the hotel exactly like in the photos, the rooms were lovely and the housekeeping teams kept our messy room immaculate for us every day. I also like that this hotel is privately owned by a Greek family , one of whom is the architect of the hotel. Its a very different vibe here and I think that's part of its charm. Ps Bring snorkels, the water is amazing, kids and adults can cannonball off the jetty and kids can fish. All in all a very chilled out and relaxed holiday where we felt sad to leave.
This hotel is one that keeps the high standards not only as a 5 star resort but as a true greek hospitality experience! We spend a few days as part of a family trip and we were amazed by the professionalism and care of the staff. The general manager has done an excellent job in keeping both the hotel in a high standard and the staff happy and this was evident from the concierge to the spa and each restaurant! We will definitely come back! Thank you for amazing memories!
Stayed here for a week to attend my nephews wedding.Found everything about this hotel to be first class from the room, food and staff.Would like to give a special mention for the manager who was on the ball all the time he’s a class act.
