Village Heights Resort

The welcome we received from the staff in the spa was very warm and inviting. The attention given was personal and helpful. The environment simple and calm. We all, a family of three, really enjoyed these facilities.

Our therapists, Anna and Nikos, were responsive to our indivudual and varying needs, which was so very much appreciated.

It was my daughter's first experience of massage and Anna could not have given her a more positive experience. Anna's kindness was deeply touching and it was a pleasure to share this first mother-daughter experience with her.

My husband benefited greatly from Nikos' experience and expertise.

I had not had a male therapist before, but I too benefitted from Nikoa's professionalism and skill. I felt very safe and nurtured in his care.

A truly wonderful, happy and restorative experience for each of us. Our holiday was enhanced by it. My sincere thanks to the whole team.

We were thoroughly impressed with our spacious 2 bedroom unit. It was very clean and well stocked. Resort staff members made us feel welcomed and were extremely professional. We celebrated our daughter's 30th birthday and they assisted with making her day special. I appreciated the responses to our questions prior to our arrival.

We’ve just returned from a fantastic 10 night stay at Village Heights Resort in Crete, celebrating my birthday, and overall we had a lovely time. We were lucky enough to be given room 702, which had the most beautiful view overlooking the sea. The room itself was lovely, well furnished and very well equipped, particularly for self-catering guests. There were plenty of facilities and everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

The only issue I personally had with the room was that the beds were extremely hard. I really struggled to sleep comfortably because of this, although my husband and children had no problem at all, so I think this is very much down to personal preference.

The staff throughout the hotel were absolutely wonderful. Everyone was so welcoming, friendly and kind, and nothing ever seemed too much trouble. They really do make you feel looked after and add so much to the experience. The resort has some beautiful restaurants and the quality of the food was exceptional. We also had some fantastic cocktails, genuinely some of the best I’ve ever had! The onsite shop was another huge plus. It was extremely handy to have, was reasonably priced and had everything we needed during our stay.

The free shuttle bus into the town and old town was fantastic too. The coach was lovely and comfortable and it saved us a fortune compared with having to use taxis. This was a really useful service and one we made great use of during our stay. Unfortunately, there was one significant disappointment, and that was the cleanliness of the large main pool. My husband raised the issue with reception, but unfortunately it didn’t appear that anything was done about it. The main pool, which is pictured in the main hotel photograph, had green algae all around the edges and throughout the pool area. It was very noticeable and, for us, quite off putting. It was such a shame because the rest of the resort was so lovely. The smaller pool at the top near reception was noticeably cleaner and much more inviting.

Despite this, we had a wonderful 10 night stay and would definitely recommend Village Heights Resort. The beautiful setting, fantastic staff, excellent food, great facilities and free shuttle service all made for a memorable birthday holiday. We just hope the issue with the main pool is addressed, as with some attention to this, the resort could be absolutely fantastic.
