A very nice stay!
We had a wonderful week at Minoa Palace Resort. Even though the weather was not as friendly as we had hoped, the amazing staff made sure that our family had a truly enjoyable and memorable stay.
From breakfast in the morning until dinner in the evening, everyone at the restaurants and bars was incredibly friendly, welcoming and always smiling. What impressed us most was that their kindness felt genuine — they were sincerely happy to help us with anything we needed.
When the weather was not suitable for the beach, the staff even took the time to do some research for us and prepare a plan with suggestions of things we could do and places we could visit around Chania as a family. This level of care and attention really made a difference to our holiday.
We would especially like to mention Katerina from Guest Relations. She is such a warm, cheerful and friendly person, and at the same time extremely professional. She helped us throughout our entire stay, always with a smile, and made us feel genuinely looked after from beginning to end. Thank you, Katerina!
We can wholeheartedly recommend Minoa Palace Resort, not only for its beautiful facilities, but especially for the wonderful people who work there. The kindness and hospitality of the entire team are what made our stay truly special.

Best anniversary ever.
This was our first time in a 5 star hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife and I thought that the staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble and everything was done in a calm and pleasant manner. The food was superb especially the buffet breakfast which was so comprehensive to suit all tastes. The guests were varied with couples, families with and without children and singles. The outside areas with the various pools and bars with catering were superb. Beach towels supplied each time and direct access to the sea. Wonderful is the only way I can describe our stay.
Luxury food snd service levels but some limitations
The Minoa Palace Resort provides extremely comfortable 5-star accommodation and very good poolside service. The hotel staff are all extremely friendly and happy to provide service and assistance. The food choices are very diverse and the culinary standards are truly excellent. Some minor quibbles mean the review loses one star:
- Clothes storage in our bedroom was rather inadequate - we found it necessary to live partly out of our suitcases
- Presumably a local sewage processing limitation in this part of Crete, but having to place soiled loo paper into a bin rather than down the loo was a bit yukky
- We opted for ‘full board without drinks’ as we don’t consume alcohol but didn’t anticipate having to pay for water with meals - unlike the UK, simple tap water is not available on request. So €40 for bottled water by the end of the week.
A Beautiful Stay and a Very Special 40th Wedding Anniversary
We’ve just returned from a lovely stay at this beautiful hotel and had a wonderful holiday overall. We would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing break in a lovely setting. LOCATION The hotel is in a fantastic location, situated directly on the main strip, with the new building directly opposite the beach. The bus stop is conveniently located right outside the hotel, with regular buses to Chania. The fare was €2.40 each way, or you can take a taxi for around €25 each way. Our private transfer from the airport took approximately 30 minutes, which was a great start to our holiday. We did experience a few issues during our stay, but I have to say that these were dealt with professionally and resolved properly, which we really appreciated. ROOM We had booked a room in the new part of the hotel, paying extra for a private pool, sun loungers and a terrace. On arrival, we were allocated room 720, which was beautiful and spacious, with lovely views overlooking the pool and the sea in the distance. The room had everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. The weather wasn’t particularly good for the first two days, so we didn’t initially make much use of our private facilities. However, once the weather improved, we realised that our room, along with the whole row of rooms, received very little, if any, direct sunlight. We raised our concerns with the hotel, and they were very accommodating, moving us to room 735. This room enjoyed the morning sunshine until around 12.30pm, allowing us to make the most of our private pool and terrace. We were very grateful to the team for resolving this for us, as it made such a difference to our stay. POOL & HOTEL FACILITIES The hotel facilities are excellent. Our room overlooked the Imperial Pool, which opened at 10am and provided beach towels for guests. There were plenty of sunbeds available, and reserving beds was not permitted, which we thought was fair to everyone. We never had any trouble finding a lounger, and the whole pool area had a lovely, relaxing atmosphere. The snack bar was also perfect for a light bite and refreshments throughout the day. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, which suited us perfectly, as we enjoy dining out in the evenings. FOOD & SPECIAL TOUCHES We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary during our stay, and we would like to say a huge thank you to the hotel and all the staff for the lovely little touches that made our celebration extra special. On arrival, we were delighted to find an anniversary cake, prosecco and wine waiting for us in our room, along with a voucher for an à la carte breakfast in the GALAZIO Restaurant. The breakfast was excellent, and these thoughtful gestures really made our anniversary feel special.
SPECIAL THANKS A special mention to the lovely lady in Guest Relations, who kindly arranged our late check-out. This was very much appreciated and made our last day so much more relaxing. Thank you for going out of your way to help us!
OVERALL All in all, we had a beautiful holiday and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful holiday at Minoa Palace Resort
Thank you to the wonderful staff at Minoa Palace Resort. We were warmly welcomed, and we truly appreciated that our previous week-long stay at the hotel has been remembered and taken into account. The upgraded breakfast was a delightful surprise, and the farewell gift was a particularly thoughtful and heartwarming gesture. Everything was taken care of perfectly, and our seaside room was kept beautifully clean throughout our stay. Our heartfelt thanks to the entire team for making our stay so special❣️🫶
