The best experience from this bar
Just got home after a 10 night stay. On arrival, we were given a free room upgrade to a royal villa with private pool. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room and pool were amazing. Very clean. We had a slight issue with our private pool, which wasn't filtering properly and so there were bugs in the pool for the first few days. Which we had to call up for a pool clean. Once this was sorted, we had no other issues. The room was spotless and the resort was clean and well kept. We didnt use the communal pool, as we had a large private pool. We did visit the aqua park, which was clean and we had no issues. Towels were provided at each pool/aqua Park/beach, so no need to carry towels around. The beach was pebbles, which we only visited once. As we were at the bottom of the hill, we called up reception for a lift up to meals, and had no issues. The cocktails were a bit of a let down, but soft/spirits/beers was all very nice. WiFi was excellent throuout the hotel, including our room at the bottom of the hill. Breakfast was nice, but lunch and dinner was a bit of a let down. There wasn't a great deal of choice for us (we don't eat seafood, but not too fussy eaters), the kids lived on chips, pasta, which they are now sick of. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, and so if you want to explore, you would need a car. We took a taxi into phefkhori one evening, which was very busy, and it cost 20 euros each way. There were 2 other restaurants within the resorts, which we didnt visit, but probably should have. For anyone booking a room with a private pool, the royal villa pool was 1.60m deep at one end going to .80m at the shallow end. The other pools, from what I could see were 1.20m deep (I was looking for depths prior to booking, which I couldn't find as my kids like to cannonball into the pool). There is a mini market on site, but there is not a great deal to buy. There are a few floaties, and very basic essentials, luckily we brought squash, biscuits and floaties with us.
Overall a fantastic holiday and I would happily return, although, I would go out for meals into the local towns for a few nights.
A week visit with family of 5, all we can say is thankyou for an amazing relaxing break away. We will certainly be returning next year.
The hotel is located in stunning scenery with a beautiful beach a short stroll away. The atmosphere is relaxed, slow and quiet which is just what we like. The minimal amount of rooms mean that there is requirement for the usual sun bed rush at any time.
The room we stayed in was nice and clean on arrival with a stocked fridge of water, soft drinks and beer. The bathroom was slightly dated and the shower wasnt great but it did the job.
Entertainment is traditional dancing and live music, not too loud, not over the top and just right for us. Aqua gym and Aqua Zumba was a particular hit with my wife and kids as well as the water park of course! The beach is well kept and clean with plenty of loungers, plus food and drink. A very nice touch was the fresh pool and beach towels that you used daily around the facility. Our only issue was people not putting their towels away once they had finished which caused some confusion with what loungers had been taken and what hadn't. If the staff could stay on top of this it would be great. A very picky draw back but there had to be something!
A lovely selection of meats, pasta, rice and salads all greek style which also helped the children try new types of food and added to the cultural experience. The staff cater for every wish that we had and we're always happy to help.
See you next year!
We recently stayed at this hotel as a family of seven and truly appreciated the beautiful setting. The resort has a lovely, chic aesthetic and maintains a calm, relaxing vibe that we really enjoyed.
The pool areas were a highlight for our group, offering plenty of variety for everyone. We also loved the tranquil pebble beach and the convenience of the small beach bar serving hot dogs. A special mention must go to the Ananas bar—it was our favorite spot, as the music was fantastic and the cocktails were consistently excellent. We found the drink quality elsewhere to be a bit hit-or-miss, so we tended to stick to the Ananas bar.
The resort was kept very clean and tidy throughout our stay. While the rooms were lovely, the design preference for spa baths rather than traditional showers was a bit unusual for us and not quite what we were looking for.
As a family, we did encounter a few logistical challenges. There was very little evening entertainment for children beyond movie reruns, and while the daytime pool disco was fun, we felt the snack options were limited to cake only.
It was also quite difficult for the kids to get fully dressed and dry just for a quick lunch. Additionally, we found it frustrating that the Greek restaurant was often empty, yet we were unable to secure a lunch booking.
Regarding the beach transfer, it is a necessary service given the steep hills. However, the driver’s strict policy against letting guests on the minibus if they are wet or sandy made it very difficult to use the service after a day at the beach.
Finally, while we enjoyed the presence of the cats on the property, the staff should focus on more consistent cleaning, as the waste in certain areas was quite noticeable.
Overall, we had a memorable stay, and with a few adjustments to the family amenities and service logistics, this would be an even better destination for groups.
