- Apostolata Island Resort and Spa

This fantastic beach resort is nestled on a hill and provides its guests with amazing panoramic sea views. Located on the east coast of Kefalonia, the hotel is secluded form the main vibrant areas of Skala town, 3km from the premises. A number of local bars and restaurants are reachable within walking distance. Argostoli, is approximately 37 km away.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

We’ve just spent 7 days here, all inclusive, along with car hire. One hour from airport. From arrival all the staff have been brilliant, definitely the best part. Super hotel sea views. Visited some lovely beach side bars for snorkel/ sand ,and a boat trip to Ithaca was great. Minor irritant is hotel extra charge for a packed lunch, breakfast orange juice, and spritzer drink. ( supposed all inclusive !) and don’t forget the tourist tax. You can tell we’re from Yorkshire. Anyway, back to the staff who made us feel special, and made the holiday a success. We have appreciated you all.
It had the views but certainly would not rate it a 5 star as Greek tourist do. Defintely would say a 3.5 star most. Hotel rooms look tired. Cleanliness coiuld be better. Surrounding areas of hotel look tired dated. Food if you like tepid temperature of food enjoy. We stopped eating there after 3rd night even though paid halfboard. Location quite way out of skala itself in a small village area. Nothing around it. Walk wise about an hour into skala no footpath for a quite a while. Be careful of the mad taxi drivers. For what we paid feel it was overpriced. Disappointed in JET2 for saying near Skala when not hence why we booked it. Lesson learned we shall be google mapping places from now on. Pool area impressive but water cool no body really got in it. Spa lovely well worth a visit and treatments amazing not badly priced too. Gym good equipment to use whilst away but very hot down there.
No water filters around hotel so you had to keep buying water at 2.5 euro a bottle when in skala 50 cents. Bar prices again 4 euro more expensive than in skala or poros. Be warned use the taxi 8 euro each way to visit surrounding areas. Food amazing in skala itself, drinks cheaper and stronger too.
What an amazing resort with the most breathtaking views of the ocean. The atmosphere was incredible and the staff so friendly and helpful. The ladies at reception assisted with booking us a rental car as well as arranging transport to and from the airport. The hotel and grounds were impeccable and extremely clean and gardens and pool well maintained. We booked bed and breakfast as we like to experience different restaurants. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and the food so fresh, we did have dinner twice at the hotel and on both occasions were exceptional. The general manger was visible and often mingled with the guests, very professional and friendly. I have to make two special mentions to the amazing entertainment team, Nikitha who was from Tanzania and Lee from South Africa!! What a phenomenal team who made every activity so much fun from morning water aerobics to games round the pool in the afternoons to fun quiz nights in the evening. They are absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend them and any resort would be lucky to have them. The apartment we had was very spacious and the housekeeping everyday made a huge difference and also insured that they left the aircon on so went we got back to the apartment at the end of the day is was lovely and cool. My husband and I will definitely return !!
Rooms are a bit grubby. Had a stain on the sofa bed that, if leaned or sat on would go wet. Entertainment was awful. Staff were amazing. Drinks can be expensive if you're half board. Its a fair distance from Skala town. They do run a 12 seater shuttle bus, which is quite limited and cuts off at 5.30pm. Beautiful views if you have a sea view room and from the bars terrace.
We have just got back from a week long stay at the Apostolata and I absolutely cannot fault the hotel itself, the cleanliness, the room or the staff....the staff were absolutely amazing, especially Roubini!
We were told by TUI that this hotel was family friendly, which was important to us as we were travelling with a 3 year old, however I wouldn't recommend for people with younger kids.
All of the activities are centered around adults, my 3 year old can't play darts, table tennis or water polo and these were the only activities that were ever done. There is no entertainment for little ones in the evening, even a couple of children's songs at the beginning of the evening would be perfect. We spent a lot of our time in our room due to the lack of stuff to do.
The food was... interesting. There is a great selection of pork in various sauces every night, but for children unless they eat spaghetti bolognase, pizza and chips every day for lunch and dinner there is nothing. The fruit selection was poor and the breakfast wasn't great either. There are no drinks for children either unless you want to give your child fizzy all week.
I do also think that the hotels shop could do with a upgrade, as it's the only shop unless you get the bus or taxi into Skala, there isn't a great selection and it doesn't get restocked.
I don't want to say this hotel isn't worth a visit, as it is stunning and as I said the staff are brilliant and are what made our stay enjoyable.
For older people or couples it would be perfect, but I don't think id return based on the lack of entertainment and thought for younger guests.
