Thank you for a lovely time.

Quiet location excellent bus route with connecting services to Kos town. Quiet relaxing atmosphere. Rooms large and well maintained. View to outlying islands. Excellent value for money. All area's clean and constantly maintained clean at all times. Quiet relaxing atmosphere even though the hotel was fully booked. Helpful and friendly staff. What you would expect from an excellent hotel. Dining was a pleasure. Extensive food selection. Those with dietary needs appeared to be well catered for.

A little piece of heaven!

We returned from the Atlantica Belvedere Resort yesterday and I must say, it was with a heavy heart, as we wanted to stay much longer!

It is an amazing hotel! With a relaxed, luxurious feel. If you are looking to relax and unwind from the stresses of life, this place delivers.

The staff at this hotel really do make the experience great and go above and beyond to give excellent customer service. We would like to give special thanks to Elena from the restaurant, whose attention to detail never failed at mealtimes. From our morning coffee served hot and plentiful, to her hand written recommendations of things to eat from the buffet that evening. Simply customer service at its best! Also in the bar, we give thanks to Emanuel and Tom. Again, recommending local beers for my partner to try, remembering our room number for the bill and just going that extra mile to chat and get to know the guests. Two wonderful young men who were an asset to the hotel staff.

We had an excellent couples treatment afternoon in the spa. Both back massage and facials were high standard where it did not feel rushed and the therapists took time to ask about any health concerns etc. Well worth the money we felt!

The hotel is kept spotlessly clean. With bottled water delivered to the room everyday and fresh towels. Beach towels can be picked up from the spa area and returned for clean ones.

We were half board but did eat at the beach bar some lunchtimes, I recommend the halloumi salad - delicious! The dining hall can get busy in an evening, where you may have to give your room number and wait a short while to be seated, especially if you want to eat outdoors. The food was varied and catered for all nationalities, with lots of local dishes to try. Fresh meats and fish cooked whilst you waited from griddles and lots of lovely, local desserts! Water is provided free of charge.

Evening entertainment was daily and varied. We sat out most evenings and even watched Mamma Mia on movie night on the beach. The evenings were chilly in late September, you will definitely need to pack a jacket or jumper.

Very few negatives. If anything, I would say the gym needs a total revamp. For a five star hotel, the gym is very small and minimal. Lacking new equipment and the hand weights maximum was 2.5! As this is a spa hotel, the gym really does need a rethink,

The beach is stunning and the sea is easily accessible to swim in. However, there are no toilet facilities and also, none at the beach bar/restaurant, so the nearest toilets are at the pool, which aren’t accessible to everyone.

The resort is mainly made up of cobbled pathways, you will definitely need flat shoes as the paths can be difficult to navigate. Definitely not good for wheelchairs and people with mobility issues.

All in all, this is a stand out resort that I was sad to leave and hopefully will be lucky enough to return to!x

A previously great hotel had gone downhill

This was our third visit to a hotel we loved before and although a lot of the staff were brilliant we found the standards to have dropped from previous years. Firstly our room which was positioned perfectly in an accessible area as my wife is in a wheelchair had the smallest patio for any swim-up room we had had at the hotel. When we arrived in the afternoon of our first day there was lots of water on the patio but the cleaner mopped it up. The water returned the next day and I asked the cleaner to report it as it was making it impossible to use the swim up we had paid for. When the water returned the following day I went to reception to report it but nothing was done. The following day when it happened again I went to reception and asked to see a manager. After over 30 minutes waiting 2 managers turned up and came down to the room with me and immediately called housekeeping and maintenance as they agreed it was dangerous. The manager then got the Filipino cleaner to come to the room and told her off in front of us in English which we thought was not appropriate. We then left the room for the rest of the day and we had no further issue with water as I believe the irrigation system for the raised bed in the adjoining apartment was causing the issue and was turned off. Other issues were the food quality - in previous years there was always themed nights for dinner and for example if it was Greek night we would be met at the entrance with a small glass of Ouzo or on French nights a glass of champagne. This year there were no themed nights and we were met at the entrance and asked for our room number. The food in the evening was bland and the meat was often very dry to the extent we couldn’t eat it - one night we gave up on some dry chicken and got bread, cheese and grapes. We were given one night at the A La Carte as part of the stay and we decided to go for the rib eye steak (€55 extra charge). It looked lovely when it arrived but it was tough and cold. We spoke to the maitre de who was very apologetic and offered to get another steak but by then we had had enough and were not confident the next steak would be any better, We spoke to the customer services manager and restaurant manager the next day when intercepted going into breakfast and explained why the meal was bad. As part of the water on the patio and the bad A La Carte we were offered another free of charge. In previous years Nicos had been the chef at the A La Carte and we asked him to cook our free meal and it was wonderful. Some extra positives were as said the staff - our cleaner Warren was very good, the pool bar manager Mersina was great and the entertainment staff consisting of Mateusz, Marco, Mariosole, Jenna, Ida and Emelie were brilliant. Also the staff at the lobby bar consisting of Ian, Pia, Emanuel and Mateo were consistently attentive and looked after our every needs. Overall we always loved this hotel but this years experienced was very poor and unfortunately we will not be returning

Lovely, relaxing stay

Summary: this is a small hotel, with an intimate and relaxing vibe. It is clean and the staff were friendly, but there were a few things that would improve the hotel further.

Pro’s:

  • Reception staff were always friendly, polite, and punctual with any requests.
  • Small hotel, intimate space.
  • We were given a free upgrade from a swim up to a private pool room, which was lovely (would recommend room 239). Good value for money due to this.
  • Hotel very clean, cleaner for our room was lovely and approachable.
  • Helen (working in the dining room) was very friendly and personable, she is a very hard worker!

Con’s:

  • Food got cold quickly at meal times, even though we sat inside
  • Dining room could feel disorganised and chaotic: sometimes you were shown to a seat and other times not.
  • Chairs in dining room are not wiped down, regularly have crumbs on them.
  • Pool is freezing cold.
  • No toilet on reception floor (although lift available to take you downstairs to toilets).
  • WiFi regularly cuts out, for one of our seven days this was out the entire day.
  • Secluded location, if half board there is nothing really in the local area to have lunches. There is a shop on site selling crisps, chocolate etc.

If you enjoy plane spotting, this hotel is great for that! If not, depending on where your room is the noise from planes could be disruptive.
