The hotel has been awarded continuously for its excellent service and quality by the most major European tour operators and the most popular travellers reviews internet sites.

Excellent Hotel, will return
The hotel is excellent. Two large pools with plenty of sunbeds regardless of the time of day. We walked into Kos Town and back most days. Took around 35 mins and we do not walk fast. We caught the bus back a couple of times which left the harbour on the hour and cost €1.30 Plenty of restaurants on the sea front for a light lunch on the way back. Hptel restaurant is good for both breakfast and evening meal, with plenty of choice to eat inside or outside. We found drinks to be reasonably priced for a hotel. €5 for a large beer, €22.50 for a bottle of reasonable red wine. As previous reviews state you can buy cheaper from the supermarket but you aren't drinking in a supermarket or sainsburys you are drinking in a hotel bar. The rooms have a fridge which came in useful, the only things missing was an iron and a full length mirror. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of drawer space. No deep hanging space for long dresses, these had to hang crumpled at the bottom. Rooms were well soundproofed. Never heard people above us or either side.

You won’t regret your trip
We had an absolutely amazing stay at the Platanista Hotel in Kos. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The hotel is beautifully maintained, the facilities are excellent, and the food was fantastic with plenty of choice every day.
The location is perfect if you're looking for a relaxing getaway. It's peaceful and tranquil, while still being only a short walk or quick taxi ride into Kos Town when you want to explore.
A huge, huge, HUGE thank you to the entertainment team: Freddo, Joy and Mercy. They truly made our holiday so much fun and created memories we'll never forget. Their energy, friendliness and enthusiasm brought the whole hotel to life, and they made everyone feel welcome and involved.
A special mention for the morning yoga sessions, which I absolutely loved. It was such a great way to start the day and added to the relaxing atmosphere of the holiday.
If you're thinking about booking the Platanista, do it. Great food, excellent facilities, wonderful staff and an unforgettable entertainment team. We would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kos!

Could do better
We found this hotel very relaxing, the rooms were clean and the bed very comfortable. It was great to have 2 pools and have the choice to be away from the entertainment. There are lots of sunbeds and no towels allowed out early to reserve which was good to see.
We had a few challenges in that our room was very close to the evening entertainment which was very noisy. The drinks are very expensive and the cocktails poor quality for the price. Our biggest issue was water, there was nothing in the room on arrival and no water fountain in the hotel. They talk about being environmentally friendly but then force you to buy plastic bottles, you are not allowed to fill your own water bottles at breakfast with a sign making it very clear that you must not take water.
We found some staff also quite rude and unhelpful.
My final issue is that having paid half board you are expected to pay 17€ to hire a tennis court, no wonder they were never used.
This hotel could make some small changes that could make a difference to your experience and enjoyment.

Recommended lovely hotel
A fabulous hotel and a very relaxing break. We are in the rooms opposite the crowing chickens but we quite like the noise. It’s otherwise a very peaceful side of the hotel. The room is extremely large and comfortable and the staff seem friendly. There are plenty of areas to sit so it doesn’t feel crowded. I love the well fed cats and the beautifully maintained gardens. I like the layout and the low level of the buildings. The entertainment side doesn’t really interest me but they certainly seemed to be getting people involved without being too pushy. It didn’t bother us that it was a small distance to Kos town and it’s a flat walk. We did hire the electric scooters to get back but it was a nerve-wracking experience and I was somewhat out of control on it! We liked the food although I do find half board an odd concept these days and not particularly convenient for us. The drinks were also quite expensive and the white wine was not nice at all. Personally, I’d rather B&B or all-inclusive but that’s just my opinion and we knew what we were getting when we booked. We are still here at the moment and so hoping that the rest of our stay is as pleasant as it has been so far.

A great experience throughout
Extremely pretty hotel. The rooms had everything you need, breakfast had a lot of variety and no issues getting a sun bed. The hotel is around a 6 minute taxi ride the Kos old town which provides a huge amount of dinner options. I’d like to give a special shout out to Fredo, Joy & Mercy (the entertainment team) who hosted some great activities and are some of the friendliest individuals I’ve met. All in all a great experience and would thoroughly recommend.
