Astir Odysseus Resort and Spa

We arrived late afternoon and check in was very quick and easy, the porter met us off the bus and we had a welcome drink. We had sent special instructions and they were all actioned for both parties. The room was very spacious, bright and modern, we had booked a family room on the top floor for the view. It was always cleaned to a good standard no faults at all. I have only one disappointment and that was no privacy on our balcony so both sides had no dividers. The food in the restaurant is very similar to most hotels all inclusive , I personally thought the food very repetitive and simple. If you ate later there was less choice and one night there was virtually no dessert left….. you won’t go hungry though! We had one à la carte which was nice. As an adult family we mainly stayed by the main pool which was quiet, it is a beautiful swimming pool. The sea is also beautiful and you can get some quite time there too. The large pool by the sea was too noisy with most of the entertainment there with loud music ! The all inclusive drinks package was very good with branded drinks, but be warned if you want a g&t Gordon’s with Schweppes tonic you need to state that, or you get a flat g&t. If you wish to go into Kos get the early bus as it’s quiet otherwise you will have to stand like sardines…. There is also no etiquette people will push you out of the way to get on the bus, they don’t queue! Entertainment in th main bar was hit and miss we saw two good acts in the 8 night stay, we didn’t go to the amphitheater. Over all we really enjoyed our stay but felt the hotel wasn’t up to my personal expectations in some areas, two trips into Kos town made the holiday really enjoyable and it’s worth getting out and about exploring this lovely island. A beautiful hotel, in a great location (close to Kos town with a bus stop outside hotel). We stayed here for 8 nights in September, we was greeted by the lovely staff with a welcoming drink, who were very informative and helpful. Our room was clean and very modern, and overlooked the pool. Minibar is restocked everyday with drinks and a bottle of wine. The hotel itself is spotless & and very well maintained and beautiful to look at. The pool is beautiful we used the pool closest to the lobby which was stunning. The beach is also beautiful, with a wonderful sunset to watch in the evenings. It is also a perk you can order drinks, from your sun-beds at both pools & the beach. The food is tasty with good options (got a bit repetitive and i have been to hotels with larger selections before) but was still lovely. One of my favourite meals was at the Al-a Carte (Argo) very tasty 4 course meal. Drinks are superb with a great selection of cocktails, i would say the outside bar area could be made more inviting had little to no atmosphere if there was no entertainment on. All staff work so hard, and do everything they can for you. Only downside is there is children everywhere even at the end of September at this hotel (not the hotels fault) so be prepared. I would definitely recommend staying here, as we had a wonderful time.
