We booked the trip last minute, just a few days before departure, based on the travel agency’s recommendation. I was excited until I read the reviews here, so I decided to share my own feedback after a one week stay as a family of 2+2.
It’s certainly not Turkish ultra all inclusive - it’s Greece. The hotel isn’t new, but it’s well maintained. There’s enough space for everyone, whenever you go. The superior room has 2 rooms: one with a TV, the other with air conditioning. The standard room is just okay, but don’t expect a golden interior or spotless cleanliness. The pools are great, and the slides and the water park were tons of fun. The beach is rocky and windy, so don’t forget water shoes, but the color of the sea is stunning. The weakest point is the food, not because it isn’t tasty, but because there’s so little variety. The drinks are fine.
Overall, a great vacation. I’d happily return, and I recommend it 100%.
Additionally, I recommened trip to Filerimos (view point near hotel, quiet), Rodos - city with Poseidon Submarine experience and Manos (travel agency) trip to Butterfly Valley and 7 Springs - we had great time next to the pool as well as trips outside hotel.
We stayed in the annex, house keeping was poor, they showed daily but never cleaned, drains around the hotel and outside our rooms were blocked, attracted flies so we never got to use our patio area, restaurants were hectic, hair in the buffet food twice, broken tiles around the pool, majority of sun loungers were broken, tatty and dirty, beach was littered with cigarettes. The dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in I couldn’t recommend enough that you book somewhere else
My initial holiday was cancelled on the Friday and we were due to travel on the Monday - I didn’t have much time to research the hotel or facilities
Upon arrival my two daughters thought the hotel was amazing, the aqua park is brilliant, there are a lot of pools and the view from the beach is spectacular
I didn’t think it could get better for us…..then came Dora from reception!
I cannot put into words how grateful I am for everything she has done for us, she has made an already enjoyable holiday magical and we couldn’t be happier
I genuinely can’t thank the hotel for everything they’ve done and how accommodating they’ve been for us
This has been a genuinely wonderful holiday and customer experience
Thank you!!!
Very good place excellent Arer was wonderful
We’ve just come back from a week stay with a 6 and 9 year old and my husbands parents. I was so worried about what we was walking into with the negative reviews posted but honestly, we had a great time!
The hotel is the first drop off about 20 minutes from the airport, you get used to the planes on the flight path and the kids loved seeing them. Upon arrival we was greeted by polite staff members and was given a wrap each (we didn’t eat these though).
We were transported to our room with our bags in the annex, and the room was absolutely fine and as described (double room). The air con worked, and it was clean. Not sure what rooms people stayed in with the one plug sockets but we had about 4. The only thing about the room Is that the drain in the bathroom smells a bit when the water is run in the shower but apart from that, all ok. There was only one night we had where there was a bit of noise we could hear, but that is as expected.
The room was cleaned each day and a bottle of water provided each day. We just made sure to put the hanger on the door for the room to be cleaned. The cleaners were lovely too. The whole hotel was well maintained for cleaning I think.
We stayed around the waterpark and annex pools areas instead of going to the main hotel which we were happy with and so were the kids. These pools are much quieter and there is an all inclusive bar around one pool which stocks hot dogs, burgers, pizza and pastries throughout the day. The guests around us were friendly and the girls made some lovely new friends. We could always get a sun bed in the morning. These two pools are next to each other so it’s not a far walk from one to the next with the bar. You can also get all inclusive soft drinks from the waterpark area which was self serve as well as buying things. I don’t think there was anything alcoholic there though, but I might be wrong. The ice creams are like 2 euros for one scoop or 4 for 2 scoops. It is carte dor ice cream too with various flavours, so I can see why it is payable.
The main pool area in the hotel was busy but as expected with that being the main area and where the pool entertainment is, it can get a bit slippy around there too. I didn’t see any broken tiles around the pool when we went there one day, but that’s not to say there isn’t one somewhere..
The food we had no problems with, and my eldest is a fussy eater. There was a variety of food for all. We booked to go to the à la carte restaurants 4 out of 7 days and these were incredible. They bring all starters out so you don’t have to choose one per person and then you just choose the main and desserts. The burgers are massive at the street burger place and the Italian was superb! We all had a different meal each night in the menu and had no complaints. It was nice to eat at the buffet for a few nights to have more of a choice too! It was my daughter’s birthday one night and they made such a fuss of her with a cake too which was lovely (I supplied the balloons and banners myself). I usually get funny about eating salad and stuff abroad but I ate it all week and was fine.
The restaurant does get busy but we was never in the que for long on the 2 occasions we did have to que. If you go around 7 it’s usually ok.
The beach front restaurant you can also go to for breakfast open until 11am. It is a smaller buffet but nice for a change of scenery next to the beach.
The entertainment was good for the kids, and something for the adults to watch after too. Bingo is 5 euros a ticket which was a bit pricey but it is what it is! You’re not obliged to play. Seats do fill up fast so if you want a table you’re better off going around 7:30. That being said, we was late a few times and managed to find a table still.
The staff were friendly and the girls loved going to ask for mocktails on their own. The bar staff were more than accommodating and polite and had a laugh with the kids too. We found out they work 29 days straight of the month too, so credit given where credit is due, it must be hard going especially when some guests can be so rude.
The last day we didn’t leave until 8pm. We just showered off in one of the outdoor showers near the pool and got changed in the bathroom. The luggage was kept in the departures bit out the front.
The hotel shop is pricey and the ladies can come across a bit rude. There is a little shop right outside the hotel which is much better and a lot cheaper.
We went to the petting zoo and Rhodes old town, using the shuttle bus from the hotel. A taxi wanted 50 euros one way to Rhodes and for 6 of us it cost 68 euros return.. the bus is air conned and you book your pick up and return times so there is always a seat for you to go and return at the time you wanted. You can extend this when you’re there if you want more time so that’s also not a problem.
All in all, we had a fab time and we’d come back again. Do not be put off by the reviews!
