Perched on the Caldera Cliff side of Imerovigli, this complex lies just 2 km from the centre of Fira. Athinios harbour and the airport are about 10 km away. The traditional villas have been built in a style typical of the island on volcanic hillsides. Taverns, mini markets and restaurants are 10 minute walk away. The villas and traditional houses all come with a terrace overlooking the Aegean sea or the volcano. All accommodation units also come with a combined lounge or bedroom and a separate bedroom. This stunning establishment which provides romantic views is the perfect place for the honeymoon couples. Guests will be delighted to wake up each morning, with breakfast being served every morning on the balcony or terrace of rooms.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We were meant to go to Skiathos however due to storm Daniel our holiday was cancelled by Jet2 & we were able to re book & go to Santorini.
We arrived in the early hours of the morning so waking up with the views of the Caldera was amazing! Breakfast on our balcony every day was a delight.
The villas are in an excellent location , every day we walked to Fira & caught a bus to Kamari & then in the evening watched the sunset from various locations overlooking the Caldera.
The room was small but comfortable , clean, fresh towels daily , air conditioning , it had a safe & a small kitchen area.
The staff were all very friendly & helpful & the breakfast was perfect.
We had been to Santorini several years ago & found the island just as beautiful but like everything these days more expensive. We had some lovely meals / drinks mainly around Imerovigli.
We would highly suggest Gorgona Villas & would love to return again in the future.
This place was amazing and the views blew us away! We felt we got the same incredible service and amenities as the neighboring high end places for a more reasonable cost. Service was phenomenal, Laura was amazing, so kind and so good at her job! Valeris was very helpful on guiding us and taking care of our luggage. We are very grateful to everyone for our stay and accommodating us with our unique schedule. The room was wonderful and very spacious. Morning breakfast delivered to our room was included and very delicious! It was also a 3min walk to the nearby bus stop which was very convenient. There’s lots of local shops, pharmacy and such for anything you may need. Fira was only a 15min walk away with a beautiful view as you walk down. If you’re travelling to Santorini and want an affordable stay, you have to stay here!
When visiting Santorini you're most likely going for the caldera view and not the beaches. Then you have to pick one of the locations along the caldera, Fira, Oia etc. Unless you plan on getting a car don't stray too far from Fira as it has the central bus station. We stayed at the Gorgona Villas in Imerovigli. Their villas are of the cave variety set back into the cliff walls overlooking the caldera. Each morning, weather permitting you can enjoy a well presented, hand delivered breakfast on your balcony or terrace. You can pick the day before from various breakfast options. It is a great place to chill, relax and take breakfast enjoying the view over looking one of natures most destructive and now dormant volcanoes. The staff at the villas are excellent both the day and night managers are amazing at making you feel welcome and there is a real family vibe about the place. They do make you feel like as a guest you are the only one there. Be aware that the villas like most of the accommodations are down some winding steps that are not all the same hight or consistently well lit. This should not put your off a great experience, just avoid wearing high heels and take care in the late evenings. Within a few 100ms of the villas is a supermarket called Jimmy's at which you can get milk, water maybe some wine. For eating in the evenings I can recommend "Let's eat Gyros" for geat Gyros and more snack type food. If you want some traditional Greek food then try "Mama Lena". We visited multiple time to both and had great service and good food at reasonable prices. On a last note, May is only just in season. We wanted to avoid the cruise crowds and really hot weather. Most days it was blue skies mid 70's, with some cloudy wet or windy days. We went 3rd of May to 10th. Santorini was amazing (need no more than a week) and Gorgona Villas a real find, great view, friendly people and overall value for money.
We had a wonderful first visit to Santorini made especially memorable due to our stay at Gorgona Villas. We could not have wished for a more welcoming, friendly and attentive team, always on hand to help with anything (our leaky tap was promptly changed!), offering local tips, carrying our luggage up & down the challenging steep stairs, not to mention a lovely breakfast bought to our room every morning - we absolutely appreciated it all! Our room was comfortable, spacious and pleasant with postcard gorgeous views from the balcony. There are quite a lot of stairs but entirely worth it and we cannot wait to visit again!
Perfect location, Perfect view, the staff was amazing and very helpful, we had a wonderfull time and extended our staying, thank you Akiz, Thank you Laura, and everyone at Gorgona villas, I had a perfect vecation!
