This modern, luxurious hotel, enjoys a pristine setting in Argassi, surrounded by the delights of Zakynthos. Surrounded by an array of breath-taking sights, guests at this hotel will be able to experience the delights of the natural landscape. Lying just 200 metres away from the beach and a mere 3 km from Zakynthos city centre, this hotel ensures that guests have a memorable stay. The hotel enjoys a stunning architectural style, mirroring the culture of the area. The rooms provide a cocoon of luxury and elegance, in which to completely unwind amidst the serene ambience. Guests will appreciate the exemplary facilities that the resort has to offer. Guests can experience fine-dining in the restaurant.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We initially thought the hotel ticks all our boxes and thought great! The negative reviews were not justified!
However -
7 broken sunbeds, with no new ones being replaced. Slippery floor around the pool ( husband slipped) The second pool - why have a bar with no one there and no music either? What’s the point in having a beautiful upstairs bar which overlooks the pool and a sea view with a lovely sunset but nobody in there or behind the bar! Surely 2-4-1 cocktails 5-7 pm would be a great idea ? Bar staff - we tried to make an effort and we also try to speak a bit of Greek ( we have been to different Greek islands over 10 times) but we felt they were not that bothered to be there sadly. Especially at the end of the day when we could see loads of glasses to be collected but they seemed unbothered and would rather look at there phone.
Now for the good points: Rooms are great, especially air con! Never had one so quiet! They are cleaned every day with new towels every other day. Not sure about the 3rd bed for our 5ft10 daughter though, more suitable for a hobbit and not comfortable for her but she didn’t complain.. We also loved Argassi and would definitely return, also if you see there are no sunbeds available every day ( sad people who get up at 6.30am and reserve them, the selfish ones that is) then head to Skyfall! Free sunbeds overlooking the sea and they are so comfortable! Just buy a drink or food. Also the staff are so happy and friendly..
Sadly for us, we will not return to Katerina Palace and I hope Katerina reads the reviews and makes some improvements, as I feel it could be so much better and perhaps from speaking to other people who have been there a lot, perhaps it’s lost its way.
Knowing where to start with this review. Our daughter chose this Hotel 🏨 for 50 of us guests to stay for her July 2026 Wedding, she chose well. From the moment we arrived all staff treat us with the utmost respect and helpfulness. The rooms were spotless clean and carefully chosen to accommodate all of our party including my 84 year old father. He was able with his frame to be independent and go to breakfast on his own (he’s an early bird) and the lady staff in the breakfast room selected his food for him each day and took it to his table. This type of kindness was greatly appreciated by all my family. A separate room was decorated for the bride/bridesmaids etc to get ready on the morning along with Prosecco and orange juice for some lovely mimosas. Katerina came to chat most days which was a special touch, then Christina/Nicoletta and Athena went to every trouble to fulfill any request we had. Every single guest took a special shine to Nick, he worked tirelessly in the crazy heat on the bar every day without complaint and a big smile on his face, each and every member of staff are a credit to this Hotel. We met a lot of lovely families/people around the pool who visit here year after year and we can see why. 100% we will be back here to this island and most definitely to this Hotel who made our visit so special
We stayed here at the end of July and returned yesterday. Our room was clean and spacious and the staff were helpful. My kids loved the pools which were clean and plenty of room to play in. The pool bar staff were great too especially the younger lad whose name I didn’t get. It’s also in a great location not far from the beach and the shops and restaurants are close by too.
We did how ever have a couple of issue hence the one star deduction. One was a drain next to the toilet was broken which meant it was sharp, there was also a smell which I’m convinced come from it and made the bathroom smell of urine occasionally. The other was towards the end of the week we had people knocking/ringing the doorbell and running away and we also had an baby in the room and the upstairs dragging furniture and banging late at night and early in the morning. I know this cannot be helped necessarily by the hotel. We did not complain about the drain as it did not affect us massively as we got air freshener. We did complain about the knocking and running and the manger walked round twice.
Despite what many reviews have said, we loved this hotel. We stayed in the self catering studio 2. The location was absolutely perfect, with so many places to explore. The resort was beautiful with a calm atmosphere. The pool was lovely and clean (yes it ran out of sun beds quickly but most places I’ve stayed in have anyway)
The staff were kind and helpful. They always were there to answer any questions. They also ordered taxis straight to the hotel for us. One thing to mention is that the climate charge for studios was €2 a day, with the air con (a definite must!) being €10 a day. Well worth it in my opinion.
Our room was clean, and had everything we needed for our 9 day stay. With 2 comfy beds, a wardrobe, dressing table and mirror, fridge, cutlery plates and bowls, cups, pans, toaster and kettle. The only drawback was that the hob didn’t work well, but that didn’t bother us as we ate out most of the time. Cleaners came for the bins every day whilst also making our beds, and they changed towels and linen every 3 days.
We recommend this hotel and had a lovely stay!
We had an amazing stay at this hotel in Argassi, Zakynthos! Everything was spotless, the room was comfortable and well-maintained, and the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help.
The location is perfect, close to the beach, restaurants, and shops, while still being peaceful and relaxing. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices, and the overall atmosphere made us feel at home from the moment we arrived.
Thank you for making our holiday so enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Zakynthos.
