Quiet, adults-only, and the perfect base for exploring Zakynthos!
My wife and I stayed at Contessina for four nights in July as part of our trip through the Greek ionian islands. We wanted somewhere quiet, adults-only, and away from the Laganas crowds, and Contessina delivered exactly that.
The rooms were clean and comfortable, the pool area was relaxing without ever feeling crowded, and the staff were genuinely all so warm and attentive. Tsilivi as a base worked perfectly for exploring the island by car. We did the south coast one day (Keri caves, Marathonisi), the west coast another (Porto Limnionas, Bochali at sunset), and always had somewhere peaceful to come back to.
Small touches made the difference. The Lazaris sweets left in our room by the housekeeping team were a lovely surprise and we ended up tracking down the brand in Corfu later in our trip because we liked them so much.
If you are a couple looking for a calm, well-run base on Zakynthos without the party scene, this is the one. We would happily come back.
