When you really want to get away from it all, the Ramla Bay Resort is an ideal destination. With its own 350 metre stretch of coastline, it occupies a secluded spot on the northern coast. It all feels very exclusive and when you're sipping a long, cool drink on the private sandy beach you'll appreciate just what a special resort this is.
Exclusivity doesn't mean being cut off from the rest of the island though. Not a bit of it. Mellieha is nearby– a charming hilltop village – and a popular destination for sightseers. Further along the coast, you'll find more fantastic beaches and places to explore.
There's a moment in every good holiday when you really start to relax. Sometimes it only happens a day or two before you're going home. At the Ramla Bay Hotel, it usually comes very quickly. With its superb facilities, enviable location and out-of-the-way exclusivity it's easy to give in to the feeling and relax completely.
So it's a good thing the accommodation is so conducive to relaxing. It's fair to say that the rooms are larger than average. All rooms feature a balcony/terrace. Rooms at the Ramla Bay Resort are complete with en-suite bathroom, hairdryer, air conditioning, flat-screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities, telephone and free Wi-Fi. Your room also includes a complimentary safe, ironing facilities, pool towels, and a mini bar stocked once upon arrival. Seaview rooms are available at a supplement.
As well as the splendour of its own private beach (May to October), the Ramla Bay Hotel features three outdoor pools and an indoor pool; they also run outings to the local watersports centre. In addition, you can play a quick game of tennis, tone up in the gym, followed by a spa treatment or a visit to the snack bar.
A choice of two light, airy hotel restaurants maintain the same levels of quality, ensuring your relaxation and your contentment levels stay topped up for the duration of your stay.
A relaxing holiday may be a pre-requisite for most holiday plans, but it's not always that easy to achieve. The Ramla Bay Resort near Mellieha, however, is geared to helping you relax in every way. Isn't it time you had a really relaxing break?
Built on over 28,000m² of waterfront land, the Ramla Bay Resort is an ideal destination in a countryside setting with outstanding views of the Mediterranean Sea. With its own 350 metre stretch of coastline, it occupies a secluded spot on the northern coast.
From the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left our holiday, it was perfect. The service, the room, the staff, the food, the cleanliness and views were all incredible. I would highly recommend and most certainly be returning!
Stayed here for a week in Aug 2026, 5 people, 2 rooms.
Good points: Rooms are large, good swimming and snorkelling, good access to poolside loungers throughout the day.
Bad points: Reception queues - we waited 30 mins to check in. Food is average, we've had a lot better on other holidays (including. Greece, Spain), no drinks at evening meal (see below), pool bar waiting times can be lengthy (we waited 50+ mins for a pizza), car park still resembles a building site, areas of the resort are unkept (see photo).
Beware drinks policy at evening meal. No drinks are provided for evening meals, not even water. You have to order and pay for any drinks. This is unusual for us, normally there are at least water and soft drinks included. We decided to take our own bottled water into the restaurant but were stopped at the door and told we could not take it in. I refused to hand over the bottle, a supervisor was called. They explained it was not hotel policy to allow drinks to be taken into the restaurant. I asked them for a copy of this policy as all I was wanting to do was take in ONE bottle of water (which I had already purchased from the hotel shop!) No policy was provided, in fact they walked away saying someone else would come, and they never did. I took the bottle in anyway. Yes, they may discourage it, but that is not the same as saying you can't. Quite dishonest in my opinion.
Also beware the free cocktail voucher. They may give you a free cocktail voucher if you dine before 19:00, to be used in the Mojito bar. But you can't use it there! We took the voucher to the Mojito bar and was told you can't use it there, it can only be used in the terrace bar (which is stuck round the corner and had no one in it) - not what the voucher says. Again, another sign of some dishonesty in my opinion. Be clear on the voucher and then we all know!
Photo was taken outside the main hotel building and shows what I assume is the main centre water feature with fountain - but it was all dried out and not working. Worse, due to the build up of algae, people had drawn over it including the obligatory dick pic. Not great when families are walking past it every day - but this seems to sum up the hotel's attitude I'm afraid.
Unfortunately, I would not stay here again.
Nice & delicious place with plenty space of relax for adults and kids 🌞👌🏻🌻
Our family has just returned from a fantastic 7-night stay at Ramla Bay Resort and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.
The rooms were outstanding, with amazing views across the sea! The air conditioning worked brilliantly, which was especially appreciated during the hot weather.
A special mention must go to Muhammad, who looked after our room (4616 and 4615) throughout our stay. The housekeeping was excellent, and he was always incredibly friendly and welcoming.
Without a doubt, the food was the highlight of our holiday. There was plenty of variety, everything was fresh and full of flavour and lots of choice. The bread and butter pudding at breakfast was absolutely delicious!
The small beach was a lovely too, and the pools were very nice. My only suggestion would be to have at least one cooler pool, as the water was quite warm and sometimes it would have been nice to have somewhere more refreshing to cool down.
The bars were great, particularly Mojitos Bar, although I do think some live entertainment would make the evenings even better. A live singer or some dancing would really enhance the atmosphere.
What impressed us most was the staff. Everyone we encountered was helpful, friendly and always smiling, which made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our stay.
The only thing missing from the room was an outdoor clothes dryer or drying rack, which would have been useful for beachwear and swimwear.
Overall, this hotel genuinely felt like a 5 star resort. We had a wonderful holiday and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended!
We had a great time. Big shoutout to Deepak, Nadeem and Shubham, those guys were there for us 24/7!
