Welcoming Restaurant
Very welcoming Restaurant, very clean, excellent food, value for money and excellent service. We will be back again for sure!
Great place
Location is great - close to restaurants and shops. Further from beach though! Atmosphere is friendly and casual. Rooms are spacious and modern. A bit visible ter and use but it is normal in touristic locations. Value ins summer months - pricey but still not horrible for 4 nights with breakfast included. Cleanliness - it was very clean on the amount of people moving in and out I was impressed. Noise - door are thin you can hear everything from the corridors. Service was kind and polite. Pool sunbeds are reserved for people with pool entry card not guests of hotel by the pool side so hotel guests need to go a bit further away on the deck to lay down which I found a bit bizzare. Happy hour on deck 7 lasts really one hour - recommend going to bars uphill to enjoy it much longer .
Nice Staff poor Management
I booked and paid for a suite but was given a room which had obvious historic air conditioning issues which resulted in a damp odour and damp bedding and clothes. I eventually got UPGRADED ( to the suite I paid for). The atmosphere at the top deck pool is spoiled by music played at excessive high level.
Great hotel!
Solana Hotel is a clean, modern hotel. Great for families as rooms are spacious, (we had a studio apartment) lots of things to do in the hotel such as swim in a choice of 4 pools, gym, Sauna, Spa etc. Atmosphere is nice with lovely helpful staff that will answer any questions. Great value for money and is in a great location (beach is a 20 minute walk down hill) located near bus stops however I would recommend using Ubers and bolts to travel around the island as buses can be a bit slow and unreliable. Cleaning staff offer Fresh towels and room clean every morning which is lovely. The top deck Resturaunt is great with a lovely view of the town, good food and drinks worth the money. Plenty of sunbeds and shade at the top deck making it enjoyable to relax. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Solana Hotel and Spa review
This was our second stay at the Solana Hotel, and once again we have had a wonderful holiday. Returning for a second time says a lot about how much we enjoyed our first visit, and we would happily come back again.
Mellieħa is the perfect base for exploring both Malta and Gozo. We found it easy to travel around the island by bus, while still enjoying the quieter, more relaxed atmosphere of the area.
A special thank you to Dawa on reception. Every day he was working, he greeted my sons and me with a huge smile and a warm welcome. He always took the time to ask how we were doing, checked on our wellbeing, and was genuinely happy to offer advice or help whenever we needed it. He made us feel valued and cared for throughout our stay.
As an especially thoughtful gesture, Dawa even left us a small farewell gift in our room before we left, along with a kind message welcoming us back next year. It was such a lovely surprise and really summed up the exceptional customer service he provides.
The hotel itself has excellent facilities. Everything was spotlessly clean, and our room was serviced every day to a very high standard. There is a restaurant on site, a lovely bar by the pool, and a café area in reception serving cakes and snacks. We also appreciated the separate children’s and adults’ pools, and the staff regularly checked that guests were enjoying their stay. A particularly nice touch was the complimentary fresh watermelon served around the pool each afternoon.
There is also a gym and spa on site, and I’m looking forward to my massage on our final day.
Thank you to everyone at the Solana Hotel for making our holiday so enjoyable. We have felt genuinely welcomed and looked after, and we hope to return again in the future.
