Choose the Bayview Hotel and you'll enjoy the very best that Sliema has to offer. Set on the bustling promenade, it's the point where old and new Malta meet. Steeped in the history of the area, the Bayview Hotel overlooks the Sliema fortifications and the vibrant Marsamxetto harbour. It also looks out over the capital, Valletta, with its palace and palazzo (dating back to the sixteenth century).
But if it's the best of contemporary Malta that you want, you'll find it here too. The promenade is the hub. Here there are shops, cafés, bars and restaurants, and easy access to the glittering Mediterranean, and a whole host of watersports activities.
To really enjoy your holiday to the full, you need the right location, great facilities and real comfort too; fortunately the Bayview Hotel comes up trumps in all respects.
You may be tempted by a stunning seaview room; they're available for a small supplement. Don't worry if you don't get one – each room has its own balcony – many with wonderful views of their own – and they're the perfect place to sit back in the early morning sun, or enjoy a pre-dinner drink. The twin rooms feature air conditioning (time restricted) as well as direct dial telephone, satellite television, tea/coffee making facilities, and optional safe deposit box. For your added convenience, the Bayview Hotel has a round-the-clock reception service too. There are a range of room updgrades available at a supplement. All rooms feature a walk-in shower.
And that's just the start. As well as there being plenty to do outside the hotel, there's plenty to do inside: there is a fitness room and sauna, outdoor pool and massage available at a fee. For dining, the Tria Restaurant offers a tasty set menu or buffet daily (based on hotel occupancy). Conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from the property.
Sliema mixes the best of historic Malta with everything you expect from a smart, contemporary Maltese resort. And the Bayview Hotel, with its host of facilities and its reputation for comfortable living is the smart, contemporary choice.
Conveniently situated a few metres away on the Sliema promenade, the Bayview Hotel & Apartments overlook the picturesque fortifications, the historic buildings of Valletta & the traditional Marsamxett Harbour.
The hotel is within a few metres of Sliema's popular shopping centre, cafes and restaurants, offering a wide variety of entertainment and relaxation.
We stayed at the Bayview Hotel in Malta for 7 nights in July as a group of four girls, and overall we had a really enjoyable stay.
There were plenty of positives. The rooftop had absolutely stunning views and was definitely one of the highlights of the hotel. The main pool was a good size with plenty of space to relax, and the food was consistently good throughout our stay. The staff were all friendly, helpful, and accommodating, which made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was clean and well-maintained, and we also appreciated how lenient the hotel was with guests.
There were a few downsides, though. The air conditioning wasn’t very effective, which made the room uncomfortable at times, especially in the July heat. The pool wasn’t always as clean as we expected, and it didn’t quite match the photos advertised online. The balcony was also much smaller than anticipated, and the shower leaked, leaving the bathroom floor wet after every use.
Overall, despite a few maintenance issues and some differences between the advertised photos and reality, we had a lovely holiday. The friendly staff, good food, clean rooms, and amazing rooftop views made it a stay we’d remember.
Had a very pleasant stay at Bayview hotel. Breakfast was very good. We had some issues during our stay which was resolved immediately by supervisor Raj, we really appreciate his quick response and excellent customer service.
My friends and I had a fantastic stay at Valleta View Apartments, the reception team were extremely helpful, personally showing us to our apartment on arrival, and accommodating to our last minute late checkout request. Would highly recommend!!!
The only real advantage of this hotel is its location. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel, and plenty of restaurants and shops nearby.
Unfortunately, the overall standard of the hotel is very poor. The shower leaks so badly that it makes using the bathroom uncomfortable. There is a strong damp smell in the room, and although the air conditioning works, it also produces an unpleasant smell. The elevators are absurdly slow.
Breakfast is very repetitive, with exactly the same options every day. The rooftop pool has a nice view, but towels are often unavailable and the water looks cloudy. The rooms only have UK-style sockets, and no adapters are provided.
Overall, I found our one-week stay very disappointing and definitely below expectations
Overall, we had a pleasant stay. There were a couple of issues with the AC and some water leaking from the shower, but Raj from Front Office really stood out with his warm welcome, quick response, and professional attitude. He genuinely made us feel looked after and helped turn a few small issues into a positive experience. Would happily return.
