The Waterfront is one of Malta's most popular 4-star hotels. Occupying a prime location on Sliema's seafront promenade it has excellent guest facilities and spectacular views across the harbour to Valletta. The local ferry connects over to Valletta regularly and is just a few minutes walk from the hotel. Close at hand are the shops and restaurants of Sliema and the lively centres of entertainment in Paceville (a short bus ride away).
The waterfront hotel Sliema is a beautiful hotel, it’s in a perfect location and within easy walking distance to restaurants, bars and shops. There are plenty of places along the promenade and a designated desk within the hotel where you can book day trips. The breakfast has a wide variety and offers freshly made hot drinks, whilst also offering fresh juices and smoothies for you to enjoy. The hotel has different themed nights in 10live which is their rooftop restaurant. The food on the BBQ night was great quality with excellent service from all staff especially Rikta and I found this great value for money as you got 3 courses and unlimited drinks for €42.50 each.
There is a fridge, kettle, coffee machine in the room with completely water which was replaced each day. They also had a water machine which was located on the corridor on each floor. I found the room to be spacious and the beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. The room was cleaned to a high standard each day and also the rest of the hotel.
The pool which the hotel uses is called Aqualuna which is across the road from the hotel and needs to be booked in advance at the hotel reception, you are given a wrist band and a receipt from the hotel reception on the morning of your visit to the pool. which is exchanged for a towel and a sun bed with a designated sun bed area for waterfront hotel guests. Be aware only food and drink from Aqualuna can be consumed whilst on the premises.
We took advantage of the free shuttle bus to golden sands beach, the hotel provided a beach bag with all your essentials and a beach mat. The shuttle bus picked guests up at 10am from the hotel reception and collected us at 16:00. The beach was lovely and the sea was clear. To hire a sun bed it was €10 and an umbrella for €5. You can also find a cafe which sells food, drinks and ice creams and they also have toilet and shower facilities.
The hotel allows you to continue to use their facilities after check out at 11am for those people with later flights.
What an excellent hotel with brilliant staff who were always happy to help. If I visited Malta again, I would choose the waterfront hotel.
