The hotel is 8 minutes' walk away from the Dragonara Casino and 300 m from St Julians bus terminal.

⭐ 1/5 — Extremely disappointing stay
Unfortunately, our stay at the Alexandra Hotel was extremely disappointing, and we would not stay here again.
The room itself was uncomfortable and did not feel particularly clean when we arrived. The beds were very springy and uncomfortable, the shower pressure was awful, and a plug socket was literally falling out of the wall. There were also old travel luggage stickers from previous guests stuck to the wall, which really made us question how thoroughly the room had been cleaned between guests.
The air conditioning was another major issue. We all became extremely unwell during the last few days of our stay and were struggling to get out of bed. Whether or not the air conditioning was the direct cause, the room became very uncomfortable and we were left feeling awful for the remainder of the holiday.
There were also serious issues with privacy. Cleaners entered our room unannounced while we were sleeping, which was extremely uncomfortable and inappropriate.
The hotel facilities were nowhere near what we expected. There were barely any sunbeds available, the pool was tiny and extremely shallow — around knee height — and the pool food was very limited. Food was only available at inconvenient times and a large part of the menu was repeatedly unavailable. Breakfast was also very limited and the juice machine never seemed to work.
To make matters worse, we had a dead rat outside our window, which was honestly shocking.
The biggest issue, however, was the way we were treated regarding alleged damage/missing items when checking out. We were told that an outside table was missing, despite the fact that there was NO table on our balcony when we arrived and we never had one. We were also accused of breaking a chair which we did not even sit on. We were then told we had to pay for these things, despite disputing that we had caused any damage or removed anything. We were pressured into paying and even threatened with police when we questioned the charges. This completely ruined the end of our holiday and left us feeling as though we were being treated as though we had done something wrong without being given convincing evidence.
Reception staff, particularly some of the women, were also extremely unhelpful and made the whole situation even more stressful.
The hotel also seemed to be full of very young boys, which wasn’t the atmosphere we expected and made the overall experience less enjoyable.
The ONLY real positive was the location. It is very close to the strip and Paceville, so it is convenient if that’s what you’re looking for.
Overall, between the poor room condition, uncomfortable beds, awful shower pressure, lack of facilities, cleanliness concerns, lack of privacy, limited food, dead rat outside our window and the disputed extra charges at checkout, we were extremely disappointed with our stay. The location is good, but unfortunately that wasn’t enough to make up for everything else.

Horrible hotel, Dirty rooms,Dirty Towels, Rude staff, nothing like in pictures rooms are old and destroyed. Bathrooms are disgusting you wont be able to shower , bed sheets have yellow marks on them not washed properly They wont treat u like people they will treat you like animals not recommended way better options around in that area way cheaper. Avoid at any cost!
Value for money, suitable for younger groups who want to be in the midst of the nightlife
Location was very central but noisy at night. Staff were pleasant and plenty of variety for breakfast. Although the rooms were cleaned daily, the bathrooms could do with upgrading. Looking at the reviews I was a bit hesitant to stay, but it wasn't the worst place we've stayed. For 7 adults it was reasonably priced.
Avoid This Hotel at All Costs
This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The only reason I am not giving it the lowest possible rating is its good location. Apart from that, almost everything was at a shockingly poor standard.
The room advertised as “Deluxe” had absolutely nothing to do with a higher standard of accommodation. It was extremely dirty – and that is not an exaggeration. Surfaces were sticky, many fixtures and furnishings were damaged, worn out, or literally falling apart. The bathroom was in desperate need of a deep clean. Visible dirt, grime, and clear signs of neglect made it very unpleasant to use.
The air conditioning emitted a strong musty, moldy smell. One look at the ventilation grille was enough to suggest it had not been cleaned for years. Spending time in the room was uncomfortable, and the air quality was extremely poor.
The bathroom amenities were equally disappointing. There was no shampoo or shower gel provided, only a low-quality liquid soap dispenser. The mattresses were cheap, uncomfortable, and did not allow for a good night’s sleep.
The staff seemed completely uninterested in guests’ concerns. Complaints were either ignored or met with a lack of understanding, and the overall attitude of the staff could hardly be described as welcoming.
Another absurd policy concerns the pool towels. Guests receive only one towel for the entire stay, and replacing it comes at an additional charge. For a hotel claiming to offer a higher standard of service, this is simply unacceptable.
The breakfasts were among the worst I have ever experienced. In practice, the only reasonably safe options were sweet pastries and sugary products. Everything else appeared to be of very low quality, and after eating there we experienced stomach issues. After a few attempts, we stopped having breakfast at the hotel altogether.
I have extremely negative memories of this stay. Every day we tried to spend as much time as possible away from the hotel just to avoid being in the stuffy, neglected room. I strongly advise anyone looking for even basic standards of cleanliness, comfort, and customer service to avoid this hotel. For the same price, there are many better options available. I cannot recommend this property to anyone.
