Thinking of holidaying in St Julian's, Malta? You're in for a treat. One of the island's newest resorts, it's already one of the most popular. And partly that's because of some of the fabulous hotels here – in fact there are more luxury hotels in St Julian's than there are anywhere else on the island. And the Cavalieri Hotel is an easy recommendation.
The Cavalieri Hotel is the ideal choice for so many reasons: its facilities are top notch, and its location is perfect – quietly tucked away, but only a few hundred yards from the heart of St Julian's Spinola Bay.
St Julian's promises the quintessential sunshine holiday. Long, hot days at the water's edge or, if you're staying at the Cavalieri Hotel, you can enjoy the hotel lido too. At night, you can explore along the harbour-front discovering tucked away restaurants and cafes, or just taking in the heady evening air. The bright lights of adjacent Paceville draws younger travellers to the entertainment centres' many clubs.
With the Cavalieri Hotel as your base, you've got the best of both worlds; all that St Julian's and the Cavalieri have to offer. Comfort is definitely on the menu; the wonderfully cool, air conditioned rooms boast twin beds and en suite bathrooms (with shower and bath, all deluxe rooms include a walk-in shower). Each has satellite TV, radio, direct dial phone, safe, (unstocked) mini bar and tea/coffee too. Hairdryers are available upon request at no extra charge.
The hotel also boasts two bars and a TV room. And with live entertainment on offer most nights, you'll soon be busy having the time of your life.
As you'd expect with a hotel of this quality, there are so many extra amenities, including a GP on call, an on-site laundrette and dry cleaning service; even a souvenir shop. And, with its solarium and second pool (which is heated through the colder months), the Cavalieri Hotel is just as popular in the winter too.
St Julians is one of Malta's most vibrant and popular resorts, and the Cavalieri Hotel is one of its most popular places to stay. So if you are really thinking about a holiday in St Julian's, why not come and see the best that this island has to offer?

This hotel is located just over 200 yards from Spinola Bay, in the heart of St Julian's, and no less than 400 yards from Paceville. The hotel is right on the water's edge and has its own private lido with a large outdoor swimming pool, a children's pool and a sundeck with solarium containing a second pool, enclosed and heated in the winter and open during the summer.
I have been going to this hotel for the past 22 years and I m really sad to see how it went downhill in the past couple of years. I am sad as this was my favourite hotel in Malta. The non working air con and the smell of mould was unbearable Margerita and Vino at reception were really sweet and couldn't be more apologetic but we (including our kids) would not stay there again until this hotel is upgraded. It is in the process of refurbishment but that's not an excuse for letting guests down. I honestly feel that my holiday was ruined due to the fact that my husband and I had little sleep. I feel like I need another holiday after that and radisson hotels should offer some kind of compensation to all guests. Disappointed 😢
Myself and two other friends stayed at this hotel in the first half of August. The good things: the staff are really friendly, the hotel is In a great location close to the bars, restaurants and clubs and the panoramic views of the bay from your balcony are fantastic alongside a hotel swimming pool where you have option to swim in the bay / sea straight from the hotel pool. A DJ also played the hotel pool one Saturday afternoon. Music was a House music vibe which was really good.
The bad: I had read bad reviews about the air conditioning hardly working at the hotel before flying out but gave the hotel benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately it was the case for us, which was far from ideal during the height of summer. Other areas to be improved included one out of the 3 lifts being out of order, which on some days led to delays waiting for the lift 🛗 as they always tended to be full. Food there was ok, though we only had breakfast there included in our package deal.
Don’t go! We arrived yesterday to a room where the aircon did not work. Was shown two more rooms where also the aircon did not work, but they said they have no others. I woke up last night 3 times sweating because of the heat. I have attached photos of the mould and condition of our bathroom and the smell of mould, and sewage from the drains. We are currently in the middle of seeing if we can exchange rooms again, as we cannot sleep in a boiling hot room that stinks.
It would have been perfect if it wasn't for the air con issue.

The big selling point of this hotel is the location. It's 5 min walk to St Julian's bay bars, restaurants and nightlight, as well as the more lively Paceville. At the same time, it's in a quiet road and away from all the noise. Having said that, there are a couple of bars/nightclubs across St Julian's bay that have very loud music that can still be heard at the hotel.
This hotel is definitely not a holiday resort. There is no evening entertainment or much common areas in the lobby for a card game.
There is no dominance of a particular nationality in the hotel guests or in Malta, which i see as a positive, because everyone seem to respect each other.
Staff tried their best regarding our several complains about the air con. They even gave us a voucher for the free dinner at the restaurant and lent us a fan for the last couple of nights. Our room never went cooler than 27 degrees.
Room was comfortable we had sea view beautiful, we didn’t do all inclusive but breakfast was nice variety for all.
