While visiting Malta, we stayed at 2 different hotels in order to get more of a complete experience. We stayed at a different hotel in Silema and decided to stay at Westin Dragonara for the St. Julian. Overall, it wasn't bad, as there were a ton of kids and more of a family-type vibe. This is fine if that's your goal. Additionally, I was really annoyed when there was construction going on and actually startled me out of my sleep one afternoon when I decided to sleep in. When I mentioned it to the front desk, they claimed they had no idea what I was speaking about, until she heard the drilling over the phone. I also happened to look up other reviews and saw that other guests were complaining about the construction, which meant the hotel already knew this was occurring. Despite all of this, we did encounter a wonderful employee by the pool, Kenneth who was fabulous and super helpful getting us situated by the pool. We also happened to order the hummus and the portobello mushroom burger that slapped!!! One of the best vegan burger that I've had! So, thanks to Kenneth and the chef on duty that day.
This is a wonderful hotel. On arrival we were greeted by Ahmed and Sunny who were so welcoming.
The hotel felt calm and tranquil even though it was full. The rooms were incredibly spacious.
There was no trouble getting a table either outside or inside at breakfast. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I’ve seen anywhere.
The pools and beach area were busy but we had no difficulty finding sun loungers. It’s a nice touch being able to order food and drinks to your sun lounger via a QR code.
We ate at Palio’s restaurant one evening. We had no reservation but they fitted us in. The food was excellent and the prices very reasonable.
We are already planning another trip to Malta and will definitely go back to the Westin Dragonara.
This is our 5th time visiting as a family. First trip was 2018 with a 10 year old. This hotel is an oasis of calm and coolness in the midst of a busy St Julian’s. Staff are helpful with ensuring room is perfect from reservation stage to check out. Always willing to help with the details which helps make a holiday perfect. Every single member of staff is lovely and all play a part in making you feel welcome. We will return.
Hasheem was very nice and helpful! Had such a good stay with Westin!
The Westin Dragonara has become a natural destination for us. When asking my family where we should go for holidays, the unanimous response is the Westin. Amazing service and attention. Our kids just love it and never have the need to leave the hotel. Expect to see us next year too)
