Working in such a grand interior, the Phoenicia Malta staff have to work hard to ensure that the service they offer matches up. That the level of service here is consistently impeccable is a testament to them – and a big factor in bringing so many people back here year after year.
Classic twin/double air-conditioned or heated rooms are well-equipped with satellite TV, free Wi-Fi, radio, phone, safe, tea and coffee making facilities, complimentary non-alcoholic mini-bar, and hairdryer. A truly lovely hotel - any way you look at it.
The Phoenicia in Floriana Valletta is a stunning hotel. Glorious gardens (used for discrete weddings) and buildings - outdoor pools as well as indoor ones. There is a lovely spa offering a range of treatments. The indoor decor is sumptuous in all areas. The is a lovely wood panelled bar with outdoor terrace area and a brighter casual bar area adjacent to the main "Contessa" restaurant which is also home to the breakfast each day. The "Beefbar" is yet another restaurant serving many meat based dishes (the fillet steaks in both the Beefier and Contessa are without doubt the best that I have ever had! The breakfast is a magnificent affair with both Buffett (fruit, meats, cheeses pastries and yogurts and fish. There is a hot food station with all the English favourites - bacon, eggs and sausages and tomatoes and of course fresh cooked toast and butter. There is also a "live egg station' with egg cooked to order. All manner of jams mustards and ketchup are of course available as are kitchen cooked dishes (eggs Beni for instance). Fresh juice and tea or coffee complete the experience. Service is impeccable. Lunch can be had by the pool and has a large sushi selection to choose from. The rooms are lovely with mattresses and duvets to die for. They are of course air-conditioned and the bathrooms have an excellent range of toiletries. Finally the staff are the nicest and most helpful staff I have come across - a real credit to the hotel. If you are going to Malta you simply must stay at The Phoenicia! I have photos but keep getting an error message when I try to up load them

Truly the most fabulous hotel in Malta!
Th attention to detail at this hotel was incredible, it was beautiful everywhere. All the staff were faultlessly friendly and helpful, it felt a very welcoming place. I would recommend to anyone.
The best hotel experience
We’ve just returned from the most amazing stay and honestly, this has to be one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in.
From the minute we arrived, every single member of staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble and the level of service throughout our stay was exceptional.
The hotel itself is beautiful. The pool area is fantastic, the views are absolutely stunning and we loved the choice and quality of the restaurants. It’s one of those hotels where you really don’t need to leave, everything you could want is right there.
A special shout-out has to go to Robert at the pool, who was brilliant. He was super efficient, friendly and attentive and genuinely couldn’t do enough for us. He really helped make our stay that little bit more special.
It’s rare to leave a hotel struggling to think of anything they could have done better, but that’s genuinely how we felt. An absolutely fantastic stay from start to finish and somewhere we would return to in a heartbeat.
A great base for malta - old school charm and service
We absolutely loved our stay at The Phoenicia Malta. It was one of those hotels that became part of the holiday rather than simply being somewhere to sleep.
We made the most of it! We ate dinner in the hotel restaurants, enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea, spent lazy hours relaxing by the pool and looked forward to breakfast every morning.
A very special mention has to go to the breakfast team, who were absolutely brilliant. Friendly, welcoming and attentive every single morning, they somehow managed to make the start of each day feel special.
We’d also particularly like to thank the turndown team. Coming back in the evening to find our room beautifully prepared was such a lovely touch. It’s often the small things you remember from a great hotel, and this was certainly one of them.
The restaurants were excellent and we genuinely enjoyed eating at the hotel in the evenings rather than feeling we always needed to venture elsewhere.
The Phoenicia was also the perfect base for one of the highlights of our Malta holiday — an incredible fishing adventure. We headed out in search of Mediterranean bluefin tuna and had a day we’ll never forget, catching some truly enormous fish! Returning afterwards to the comfort and calm of The Phoenicia made an already extraordinary day even better.
We also loved simply sitting around the pool and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Despite being so conveniently positioned for Valletta, the hotel manages to feel like a peaceful retreat from everything outside.
The building and grounds are beautiful, the food is excellent and the location is difficult to beat, but for us it was the people who really made The Phoenicia special.
Thank you to everyone who looked after us and helped make our Malta adventure so memorable.

The hotel is in a central location which is well-suited to exploring Malta. The rooms are on the slightly smaller side, but overall the hotel is exceptional in terms of its facilities (indoor pool, outdoor pool, spa, gardens).
What stood out was the the service from the staff. Everyone from the front desk to housecleaning to the breakfast staff was warm, personal and attentive. If we are back in Malta, we will definitely stay here again.
