This hotel has an enviable location overlooking the ocean, offering a memorable panoramic view of the coastline. The hotel has a private access to Santa Eulália Beach via stairs, and it is surrounded by beautiful gardens. There are many popular tourist centres, several golf courses and a riding centre nearby and, 10 kilometres away, guests will find the popular centre of Vilamoura with its world-famous golf courses, casino and marina. The beach and numerous restaurants are on the hotel's doorstep, while pubs and nightlife spots are 3 kilometres away. The accommodations have a modern and renovated decoration. The rooms are designed in such a way that the rest is guaranteed through its comfortable beds and cozy atmosphere, excellent furniture and complete equipment of the unit, they encourage visitors to explore the beaches and enjoy the sun in the complex.
Stayed at the Aparthotel for 2 weeks on a self catering basis and couldn’t fault it. Apartment and balcony were really spacious with all the amenities you require. Great location, path straight down to the beach and 10min walk to lots of restaurants. The pool areas were brilliant, lots going on during the day which my kids loved. The bellux entertainment team were great with the kids, lead by the really enthusiastic Nuno. My girls have been doing all the dances since we have returned. Would definitely return.
Stayed for 2 weeks at the aparthotel. The cleanliness of the hotel, room and pool areas is superb. The beds including the sofa beds were really comfy and were made up pretty much every day bar a couple. The entertainment team led by Nuno was amazing, definitely recommend the morning stretch classes, they work tirelessly to make sure everyone was made to feel welcome.
Fantastic family resort – peaceful, beautifully kept and everything you need
We had an amazing stay at Alfagar Aparthotel and would happily recommend it.
The first thing that really stood out was how beautifully kept the whole resort is. The grounds are lovely, with plenty of greenery and flowers, and despite Alfagar being a large resort made up of three hotels, it never lost that relaxed holiday atmosphere. There was just a really nice vibe around the place.
The facilities were spot on, especially for families. There’s plenty going on and lots of space to enjoy the resort, whether you want to spend the day around the pools or just relax. At the same time, I could easily recommend it to couples or anyone wanting a quieter week away.
The location worked really well for us too. You’re away from the noise and busyness of the main strip, which we actually preferred, but it’s only around a 15-minute walk if you do want to head in that direction.
For us, Alfagar gave us the best of both worlds — a proper family resort with great facilities, but somewhere that still felt relaxing and peaceful.
We had a brilliant stay and made some fantastic family memories here. We’d definitely return.
★★★★★
We stayed at the Alfagar Prestige, which is a lovely hotel with very modern rooms. The facilities were perect for our stay. The rooms were reguarly made and cleaned. We went to all the hotels and used all the pools, and I am not sure you can go wrong with any of the hotels, but we haven't seen the rooms in the others. We self catered, which was a great move as there is a shop opposite where there is access to patiseries and breakfast / lunch shopping. The shop was fairly priced, with just a few expensive items. The Italian restaurant was decent, but we preferred to walk to the Portobello restaurant down the road and there are several restaurants within an easy walk. Uber's are very cheap to the old town or local villages.
All of the swimming pools are great and the kids enjoyed the splash areas, but I would say they are more for 2-5 years of age. I saw nearly all of the children getting constantly getting stuck on the big slides in both areas, unless they went down with a parent. This was the only criticism.
Take extra cash of €10 per person for the towell deposit, which you get back at the end. They say you can get cash out over the road, but there is a €4.99 charge.
We stayed in a Prestige apartment. Excellent room, very big, beds comfortable and the pull out sofa bed was two separate comfortable proper beds which was great. Kitchen facilities excellent with every utensil you could need. Freezer compartment in fridge. TV in each room and very big balcony with two recliner chairs and a tablr and 4 normal chairs. Top tip, bring two black bin bags and some blu tac with you, as there is a glass window between the bedroom and bathroom and its only partially frosted glass. Bit weird, and also means if someone in bathroom at night with light on, the light streams into the bedroom! Wristbands had a chip in them which served as the room key. Thought this was brilliant and saves hunting round for your room card all the time as its always on your wrist! Plenty of sunbeds, but unfortunately never enough parasols. The hotel could really do with investing in more of these for shade as was very hot. Air con was amazing. Rooms were serviced, but i do think you may need to hang the card on the door for the maids to clean the room. They never swept/mopped our balcony at all which was disappointing, especially for the price we paid! Other than that we would recommend the Prestige rooms and pools, much quieter than the village side of the hotel.
