Overall a nice first stay at the Falesia Hotel.
Pros: Clean, comfortable beds, lovely tranquil gardens, plenty of sunbeds (although less so with umbrellas), good breakfast selection and pleasant staff, nice indoor pool and spa facilities.
Cons: no water in rooms from day 1, relatively limited dinner selection, shuttle to and from beach could be more frequent, or a larger shuttle used for convenience.
I think some of the reviews expecting Ritz Carlton treatment from this hotel are frankly comical. The staff are pleasant and anything you ask for is not too much trouble. Ignore the overly bad reviews.
We had an outstanding stay from start to finish. The rooms were spotless, the food and drinks were excellent and very reasonably priced, and the pool area was superb. The location is ideal — Falésia beach is only a ten-minute walk away.
I would particularly like to highlight Junior in the restaurant, who genuinely made our holiday special. He is friendly, polite and great fun, and he made us feel welcome every single day. All of the staff were excellent, but Junior stood out. He represents the hotel exceptionally well, and I would sincerely encourage management to consider him for a supervisory or managerial role — he is exactly the sort of person who brings guests back. We will be returning, and we very much hope to see him again.
Getting around was straightforward too. Reception will call a taxi for you and one arrives within five to ten minutes, and fares are very cheap.
All in all, a fantastic holiday. Thank you to the entire staff.
First visit here:
Great customer service from reception to spa. Everyone was keen to please. Gardens were lush and the rooms were spotless! The indoor swimming pool was a welcome addition which was used daily and was never busy.
Only negative was no water in the rooms and umbrella sunbeds were rare at the poolside after 11am.
Overall, really enjoyed the massage, attentive staff and the food!
Hadn't read the recent reviews before we went as booked over 6 months ago. This was our fifth visit to this hotel and while I can't fault the rooms and facilities (restaurant aside, as we don't eat evening meals here), I must say I agree with a lot of the negative comments. Positives first, the rooms remain immaculate and perfect for our needs. Still get a few personal touches which is nice including a bottle of bubbly and cake for wife's birthday. Cleanliness and maintenance remains excellent. It became quite clear that the hotel is under new management as I didn't recognize any of the team, but the greeting was good as usual. Now the negatives. There seemed a clear shift in customer demographic although I must say the pool area remained fairly quiet despite the younger demographic. What is noticeable is how quiet the bar is even in peak summer. I put this down to younger demographic not using these types of venues for their evening entertainment. Yet despite this, the biggest disappointment was the bar service which I found totally unacceptable. Not once did we receive table service and every night I had to order drinks from the bar myself and was never offered to have them brought to us in the gardens. To compound this I didn't notice the service charges and luckily because the service was so poor, we never tipped. Before considering returning, I would like to think this has been addressed. Breakfast was fine, however we found it near impossible to get a decaffeinated coffee and had to wait up to 15 minutes every day when asking for one. Such an easy fix to provide sachets at the self service machine. Overall really disappointed with what was once an amazing experience of standards and service.
Great two weeks spent in such a relaxed adults only hotel. Booked a standard twin room well impressed loads of room with a great walk in shower and bidet in the bathroom. Lovely pool with plenty of sun loungers. Have to give big shout to Manvir the main Barman at the pool bar what a lovely fellow and fantastic cocktails. The hotel is well situated about ten-fifteen minutes between Albufeira and Vilamaura in an Uber so only have a quiet night if you want one, am currently in second week of two week stay and have been to Spa twice already and will be going again before we leave , best massage yet. Definitely booking next year .
