My personal hotel rating: around 3 stars I’ll start by saying that this is based entirely on my personal experience during my stay. The hotel advertises itself as a 5-star property, but honestly, I found it quite far from what I would personally expect from a 5-star hotel. The property has plenty of space and some good aspects, but overall, it feels very dated and more suited to young families and retirees than couples looking for a modern, relaxing holiday. 🏨 Hotel & Ambience The biggest issue for me was how dated everything felt. The rooms are actually very spacious, which is a positive. The layout is more like an apartment-style hotel, with plenty of room to move around. However, the furniture, fittings and overall décor are noticeably old and could really use an update. The bathroom/toilet is particularly dated and feels like it hasn't had a proper modernisation in a very long time. If you're travelling as a couple, don't necessarily expect a proper double bed. We were given two single beds pushed together, but there was a surprisingly large gap between them. So instead of having a romantic couple's bed, you essentially end up sleeping separately. 😂 The sofa bed was also extremely old and very hard, so I wouldn't want to sleep on it for an extended period. The hotel atmosphere also felt very much geared towards families with young children and retirees, and it could be quite rowdy at times, with very drunk guests hoarding alcohol as though they were worried the all-inclusive drinks would run out. If you're a couple looking for a more modern, romantic or sophisticated resort atmosphere, this may not be the vibe you're expecting. Another issue was the safe. Ours wasn't working, and it was the very old-fashioned key-operated type of safe, which honestly felt like something from another era. The hotel is a 10 minutes walk to the nearest beach. Since this is a chain hotel, you are given access to the gym & sauna to their sister hotel beside them.

🍽️ Food & Restaurant The food is served buffet-style, and one thing I will give them credit for is that they constantly replenish the buffet. You won't generally find the food completely gone because staff are always refilling it. However, the quality is very hit and miss. Breakfast became repetitive very quickly: bacon, sausages, eggs, pork and beans, with very little variation. If you're staying for several days, you may find yourself thinking, "Yep… this again." 😅 Because the food is produced on such a large scale, some dishes are decent while others feel more like mass-produced buffet food. The desserts were another disappointment. Some of the cakes were noticeably dry, almost as if they had been sitting out for too long. The fruit selection was also repetitive. On some occasions, we came across fruit that was overripe or visibly bruised, particularly some of the sliced fruit. The all-inclusive drinks were pretty standard, and they us a plastic glasses, which didn't exactly add to the feeling of a 5-star experience. And then there's the coffee… 😖 We love coffee, and we can take extra consideration with the taste of the coffee but the coffee here was genuinely awful for my taste. It had a very sour flavour and tasted like it was made with fairly low-quality beans. If you're a serious coffee drinker, bring your expectations down. 😂 I also noticed that some of the plates weren't always cleaned properly, which is something I found particularly off-putting in a buffet restaurant. The restaurant itself is also quite dated. That said, I have to give credit where it's due: the staff were attentive and generally helpful, and they were constantly working to keep the buffet running smoothly.

⭐ About the "5-Star" Rating This is probably my biggest point of contention. The hotel presents itself as a 5-star hotel, but based on my experience, I personally wouldn't describe it that way. The spacious rooms are a positive, but the dated rooms, old bathrooms, uncomfortable beds, ageing facilities, buffet quality and overall atmosphere didn't match what I would personally expect from a 5-star property. For me, it felt much closer to a 3-star hotel in terms of the overall experience.

🌍 A Note About the Atmosphere One other thing I noticed during my stay was that, as an Asian traveller, I occasionally received some strange looks from other guests. It did make things slightly uncomfortable at times, although I'm quite used to travelling and experiencing different reactions, so personally it didn't bother me too much. I just smiled back at them. 😅😂 Obviously, this is my individual experience and not something I can generalise to every guest or every stay.

📝 Final Thoughts There are definitely positives: the rooms are spacious, the buffet is consistently replenished, the staff are attentive, and the hotel provides the typical all-inclusive experience. But for me, the overall property feels very dated, and the experience doesn't live up to what I would personally expect from a hotel marketed as 5-star. I'd say this hotel is much more suited to families with young children and retirees who are looking for an all-inclusive holiday and aren't particularly concerned about modern décor or luxury finishes. For a couple looking for a modern, comfortable and romantic resort experience, I personally found it disappointing. Overall stay: 6/10
