Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
This hotel is dated, and a bit quirky. But I love the character, staff and location. Needs a bigger pool and more beds. It's on the beach , but bar on beach u have to pay for + sunbeds. Foods ok. Good selection, but, restraunt is quite small for the hotel. It's clean and friendly, perfect for family holiday. 15 min walk along beach to old town.
Where do I start. This excuse of a "hotel" is an absolute joke. Do not waste your time staying here. I was overcharged by the hotel, reception staff promised me I would get a refund, it's never materialised. They ignore all emails and refuse to communicate with you. The rooms were disgusting, cockroaches in them, bathroom full of other guests hair. I was given vodka 3 times at the bar when I do not drink, I spotted them doing it, and refused to take the drink. My friend received numerous insect bites from the stagnant shower water that was outside his apartment. The food was awful, nice if you like pasta and fish. The restaurant looks like something from a hotel 20 years ago. The tables are worn, and the dining area needs modernising, in fact, the whole hotel needs modernising. It's definitely not 3 star or 4 star. I have never stayed in a hotel like this before, and I never will again. Customer complaints are ignored by the staff, and once they have pumped you for as much money as they can, they're not interested in anything you say. Furniture in the rooms and the bar area is plastic seating which is absolutely worn out, yellow weather stained. It's disgusting. I will NEVER return to Portugal again. If I were you, I'd give this place a wide berth. Don't agree to any additional charges even if they tell you that you'll get your money back, because you won't. The local tourist board should be made aware of this place as it's a total joke of a hotel. I could only give them one star when it should be minus 10!
Location is second to none rooms very dated and really need a cosmetic update On arrival to room the smell of smoke ( non smokers) was bad but CARLOS at reception offered a different room on next day or our room to be re cleaned which it was and to be honest the smell still lingered but that said the food was ok usual AI overall a bit of TLC and it would be worthy of its star status and we did enjoy our holiday
Hotel is dated rooms are bland and could do with a refurb we was in block A. the gym tennis courts and one of the pools advertised are achally in the hotel next door were u can also eat the food is better there! Food is awful what's ment to be hot is luke warm and its just all round bad You won't get drunk either as getting drinks from the bar isn't the quickest also snack from the pool area are poor and portioned for a toddler Mostly dissapointed with the hotel its self
The main thing this has going for it is definitely the location. Upon arriving at the reception, the bar and proximity to the beach just blows you away. I think we were lucky with the room as it was very nice with a stunning sea view, but heard other rooms need a bit of a tidy up. In general this can be said about the whole place really. It's not bad, but it does need to be upgraded. The food is good, we are not fussy and loved it but again heard others were less enamored. The restaurant and bar are very busy, and for the size of the place, needs more venues. It is ideally situated between old and new towns, we preferred the old town, but I have to say I've been years ago, and both have gotten far too busy. I get partying is a thing, but they are too busy, spoiling the places to be fair, especially the old town, which has lost its charm
