I don't normally write reviews but feel like there are a lot of negative ones about this hotel and we just came back from a great trip with two young children (4 and 6). The pools were great. Yes loungers are hard to come by but that was partly to do with selfish people getting more than they really needed knowing there wasn't enough. There was grass you could lie on and if you have kids then the small pool was always quite quiet. We were in block A and although located next to the road we were happy with how close it was to the pool and the restaurants. Noise was also minimal where we were. Yes a few noisy people coming home from nights out but nothing too bad. The food was pretty classic all inclusive and a bit repetitive but a buffet so you could make different decisions each day and the cakes and bakes were great! The beach location was great too and we spent a fair few days just at the beach and pool with our kids entertaining themselves with footballs or inflatables etc. Staff were friendly overall and our room was clean on arrival and cleaned 2/3 times during our 6 night stay.
Karaoke with Yoandry was fabulous. Yoandry got everyone involved and had a great voice.
Yoandry at the karaoke room was absolutely amazing!
(Added by a concerned parent on written by my 18 year old daughter) Beware if you’ve not read the small print, you can’t check in before 5pm. At this point there will be a queue that appears not to move because the 2 staff members clearly work at snail pace. We were given our room in K block but had paid for a superior room, we were not given any instruction on how to find the block nor any resort details unlike other families before us. We trekked up a large hill but the map (we took a photo of at reception) was unclear. We’re 2 18 year old girls and were concerned about how far from reception we were. We returned to reception because we recognised from a Google search that this block didn’t containing superior twin rooms. After a conversation at reception with a quite resistant staff member that said we could be placed in A block but it would be noisy as it’s right across from the disco, we agreed to take the room as we’d paid for superior and it wasn’t half a mile from the rest of the amenities. I think they try to push all the youngsters into K block because of discriminatory attitudes and assumptions about rowdy behaviour. We were shown to this room, which was not offered with the other room, we were asked to check the room, it was weird and then he asked that one of us return to reception with him, we both went, he disappeared into a back office and then came back and said he didn’t need us after all, very weird! We placed a chair against the door at night time and pushed the table up against the patio door. There are extra charges for ice cream, in an all inclusive this feels like robbery cos everyone wants an ice cream when it’s hot and you’re on your holidays. Extra charges for branded drinks also apply as expected, the local alcohol is poured liberally. We were not told about the themed restaurants and when asking to book were told we needed to do so 24 hours in advance but when we’d do this we were consistently told it was not possible and they were fully booked. We also asked to keep our room on the day before we were due to leave and the morning of our departure to be told there were no rooms available. They pretty much dealt with us as little as they possibly could. We did not feel welcome by the staff at all. The buffet was below par, not a great deal of selection and not well presented but tasted ok, nothing to write home about. The pools were cold and dirty, and salty. We were a small walk up a hill to the strip and a 5 minute drive from the old town. We took a trip to Silves for the medieval festival which was well worth the journey and to eat at Churrasqueira Valdemar. The aircon in the room was really good and we had a small kitchen area and a fridge which was great. Making friends with other young people makes the experience more bareable.
Staff were fantastic and very accommodating. Thank you Joban and Manpreet for a lovely experience. Starters were lovely.
