The Pine Cliffs Gardens experience extends beyond, granting guests full access to the comprehensive Pine Cliffs Resort amenities, encompassing golf, tennis, football, water sports, and the enchanting Porto Pirata children's area, designed with bespoke programs for our younger guests.
Explore the historical allure of Albufeira's Old Town, a mere 9 km away, or immerse in the coastal charm of Olhos de Agua, just 2 km from this idyllic retreat. Conveniently located, Faro International Airport is a short 33 km journey, while on-site parking is graciously provided for a seamless sojourn.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
There is a lot to love about Pine Cliffs - the location, pools, lack of crowds, plentiful loungers etc., as well as a great selection of restaurants.
BUT, also some things that left a bitter taste, including the room being an hour late to be available.
Also, the restaurants on site are very expensive, which I went into eyes open, but also everything includes an additional service charge which is not made too clear, and then a very obvious space for "tip" on each bill feels like a bit much.
And on check out, I discovered that 20 euros a day was added for "facilities" which I don't recall seeing anywhere when I booked, and which isn't at all optional, so feels like a scam. Added to that, a duplicate food charge, and a cost from the gift shop 3 days before we arrived, and I've left with a very sour taste.
We recently stayed at Pine Cliffs – Garden Suites for a second visit and had a really relaxing, enjoyable time. The accommodation on the 2nd floor, facing the resort, was fabulous – spotless, tastefully decorated, and very well-equipped, with a balcony facing the pool area. The maids were on duty daily, keeping the accommodation clean and providing fresh towels and linen.
If your budget will stretch to it, I would suggest opting for half board. Yes, it costs a little more, but it will save money overall, and your food options (I am a coeliac) are very good at the O Grill breakfast and evening meal buffet. There is a gratuity request based on your buffet budget / drinks at the evening meal, so bear this in mind. It is, however, optional and you can decline to tip.
I have seen quite a few negative reviews about the hotel / complex, but our second stay was excellent. From check-in to the accommodation, nothing was too much trouble. All the staff we encountered were friendly and polite. I would recommend the gardens accommodation because they are the newest properties on the site. There is a walk to O Grill for food, but we didn’t mind this, and you can always request a shuttle if you have mobility issues.
All things considered, we would certainly return to Pine Cliffs Garden Suites. We really enjoyed our stay in June. July and August will be considerably busier, no doubt, so perhaps these months are best avoided if you don’t have children or school holidays to factor in when planning your time away. It can be quite expensive, but opting for half board can make it more budget-friendly overall.
Couldnt get into any restaurants whatsoever as "fully booked" through my 5 day stay. Even though when passing they were half full. When we did have breakfast it was like grand central station on steroids and stampeding persons going for all the greasy, tastless food dumps. The hotel shuttle was called 4 times on seperate occasions to assist with my wifes walking due to recent leg op and never turned up once, so just gave up on that. The concierge never answer the phone. The place has nothing to do at all when raining unless you like swimming or going to the gym with the other hundreds of persons with the same idea when raining. And you cant get into serenity spa when raining as they have limited numbers and reject you at the door after saying over the phone " just come anytime to use the spa at the 30 euro additionsl charge each" And lastly the tv in room signal doesnt work and wifi is very poor. So not the best 5 star!
Pine Cliff is a slightly more expensive accommodation around Algrave, but it's definitely worthwhile. A huge property with many accommodation options, to hotel, suite, apartment etc.. We stayed in a 1 bedroom garden apartment, with full kitchen equipped. We make our own breakfast (breakfast at the hotel is expensive, supermarket just across the hotel entrance. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Clean and beautiful place for a couple retreat. Great for families with baby, too.
Downside: Abit out of nowhere but easy access by taxi or Uber. We had to pay extra 20eur plus tax every day, which was not mentioned upon check in. Also, a donation of 1eur was in the receipt (which was fine since its for charity but will be good to let us know before charging). We had room service of 40plus eur + all these extra charges became 80 less euros.
Nonetheless, this is a property to go if you can afford for a luxury getaway to spend yourself and your love ones.
Awful customer service throughout the stay. From being left waiting outside our room for an hour after being told someone was going to bring a spare key to never getting through to the concierge to get a shuttle. It is very expensive and everything is added on extra. They paid for the accommodation before the trip and then they added and extra €800 for an extra night and facility fees which they said was not included in the upfront cost but was never specified until check out.
