We returned this summer to Vila Gale Atlantico for the second time. It was absolute bliss the first time around and we were delighted that our second visit was just as lovely (if not better!).
We stayed in a suite on the third floor, the rooms are enormous and the layout is just right. The kitchenette is bigger than many others we’ve seen in family hotel rooms, and the pools, games room etc meant that our kids were never bored. We didn’t stray far from the local area but a couple of trips to Planet Fusion with some leftover euro coins also kept them entertained!
The food was fabulous and staff were all so friendly. Will definitely be back for a third time!
We are still here and what a lovely stay we are having! Staff are lovely ! The food and service is fantastic 👌 would definitely recommend to people! Some lovely restaurants near by plus minutes to the beach walking...lovely sunset down there.. The pool is never overcrowded and we also get a sunbed !
We have stayed at Vila Galé Atlântico before and enjoyed it enough to book a return visit, so it was disappointing that our second stay didn’t live up to our previous experience. There were several maintenance issues during our stay. The hotel back entrance gate had been removed with no explanation, the electric vehicle charging points were not working, and one of the lifts was out of order on our first day. Individually these may seem minor, but together they gave the impression that the hotel isn’t being maintained to the standard we experienced previously. The spa was another frustration. Every time we visited there was nobody available to provide towels, meaning we had to wait or search for staff. The indoor pool was also dominated by some very unruly families, making it difficult to enjoy what should have been a relaxing environment. While I appreciate hotels can’t control every guest’s behaviour, a little more supervision would have made a big difference. Same goes for children’s pool. Older children frightening toddlers, using inflatables on the slides and soaking everyone.
There are still positives – the location is excellent and we have fond memories of our first stay, which is why this visit was so disappointing. In fact, we had already booked to return next year before this holiday, but based on this experience we’re now wishing we hadn’t.
I hope the hotel addresses these issues because it has the potential to be a great place to stay, as we know from our previous visit.
Great location for us although some people will find it too quiet, lovely pool area. No one clears any rubbish away or collects glasses from pool area during the day. Very strange in my opinion that the entertainment is held inside by reception when theirs a lovely pool area / outside bar which doesn’t seem to serve drinks in the evening so no one sitting at outside bar at night time which I have never experienced before. I think this hotel is probably best for families with young children. The room was big & spacious & clean & comfortable, lacked any personal touches & basic but good enough. Overall I wouldn’t choose to stay again as the evenings were lacking a nice space to sit & relax & enjoy a drink in a nice setting.
This hotel is situated in a very quiet residential area with a selection of restaurants and a well stocked supermarket within walking distance There is a path way from the hotel to a very nice beach. There is a bus stop outside the hotel although not very convenient We got a taxi to Vilamoura which was about a 40 minute drive and cost €54 A taxi to Zoomarine was a 20 min drive. It is definitely worth a visit Albefueria is about 15 minute drive Ubers are cheaper than taxis The hotel itself is ok not entirely spotless towels were changed on a daily basis. If you are allocated a room to the front of the hotel be prepared to have your quite small balcony covered in bird poop so watch your towels I spotted a few cockroaches two indoors by the dining room the other was by the pool at night which I suppose cannot be prevented Breakfast was ok There was entertainment every night but nothing very exciting. The bar staff at the pool area weren’t very efficient we had to wait as long as 20 mins just to get ice cream on several occasions and it was the same in the bar at night. You definitely would not need to be thirsty. I will add the staff were always very courteous. The children’s pool was excellent Our room was overlooking the hotel driveway but as the balcony wasn’t that big we never sat out just used it to air our towels Poolside towels are provided free Personally I would not return to this hotel
