Ukino Palmeiras Village

Just returned from a week long stay at this hotel as a family of 4, with 2 children aged 7&5.

Overall we had a nice time - the facilities are good particularly the kids pool and water slides which is where our children spent the majority of their time.

The food was hit and miss - plenty of selection to choose from but some of the options were quite bland or dry. I think it’s hard to cater for so many people so appreciate that it is difficult for the hotel. We always found something to eat and they have a children’s station which has your standard chips/fish fingers etc for fussy kids. Also pizza available every day which was very nice. We have a peanut allergy in our family and I will say that the allergens in the food are not well displayed at all which could definitely be improved. However, staff were happy to help when we asked about allergens and seemed very aware of the ingredients in each dish.

We didn’t stay up for any evening entertainment as it was just too late - we did the kids disco one evening which was fine but wasn’t something our children were bothered about doing again. The bouncy castle and trampolines were good options to have but cost an extra 6/7€ per child. We also didn’t do the kids club activities although they were advertised each day and did seem to have good options going on, our children were too busy playing in the pools. There was a foam party in the pool one day which was a lot of fun.

Our room was made up of two single beds pushed together and a sofa bed made into a double which wasn’t very comfortable and also the metal bars that poke up on the side are quite dangerous, every single one of us caught ourselves on them at least once during the stay which wasn’t great. The room has everything you need though - a balcony/safe and fridge. The tv in the room only has 2 channels in English. The cleaners did a great job.

Definitely recommend Ubers for going out and about. They are reasonably priced and lots of drivers available. We went to zoomarine park for approx €15 in uber each way and also to the marina for a boat trip which was about 10€. We all loved both of these trips and would definitely recommend. Our boat trip was via Allboat and they were great.

There is a small shop on site and a nice bar that plays live music in the evenings which we enjoyed. Reception staff were nice enough.

You do have the usual sun lounger battle and need to queue before the pool opens at 9am if you want to get a good spot as they will all be gone by 10am otherwise.

Overall we had a nice holiday however I wouldn’t personally return to this hotel. I would give it a 3.5 stars as was a little bit underwhelming for a 4 star hotel.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel was really clean and the food options were good.

We thought that the entertainment was not very good and was on too late for our chilywho are 6 and 9.

Too many things were extra cost such as the bouncy castle and trampolines.

Overall, the hotel is clean, comfortable and the food was good. We enjoyed our holiday and is a good choice for a 1 week break.

Just returned from a great holiday with my partner ans 5 children. Having been a little sceptical after reading some of the earlier reviews, please see my honest review of all areas and I hope this helps you.

Location Hotel located 7minutes walk from a beautiful beach, we loved the land train that takes you to a nearby town for 5 euros which includes a return. Really easy to navigate and kids loved it.

Atmosphere Completely family oriented which was great for us. Everything was aimed and children being able to do things throughout the day.

Rooms Rooms were very spacious, well equipped. Our issue was a double bed was provided in the children’s room instead of two singles to sleep young teenagers which wasn’t ideal. We spoke with reception and the room was big enough to hold anyone bed which was provided and set up within 30 minutes.

Also, didn’t see a single bug in our rooms the whole stay!

One of the other children did have a pop up bed which was very thin although they didn’t complain about it at all.

Value Great value for money, I think we got everything we expected and more.

Cleanliness This hotel was absolutely spotless. Staff were constantly clearing up, collecting rubbish, plates etc. rooms were cleaned to a very high standard. No issues whatsoever.

Noise Pool areas noisy, entertainment venue noisy when shows were on but no issues back in the rooms at all at night.

Entertainment This was a bit disappointing. The shows were aimed at young children, nothing really to keep adults and older children entertained. They also didn’t start until 10pm each night and then were over mostly within 30minutes. There is plenty of room for improvement, and possibly having proper acts come to the hotel to perform as the actual entertainment venue was great

Food Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all great. Never had to queue for a table to seat 7 people which wasn’t ideal great considering it was the school holidays. Always something to eat, well cooked fresh food. The snack bar is open between meal times and all night serving burgers, toasties etc which was brilliant. NOTE - there is no snack bars around the pool and no eating takes place around the pool. All snacks and food are eaten within the restaurants.

Drinks Soft drinks on tap for the kids all day, can fill them up yourselves, saves having to queue for kids drinks by the pool constantly. Alcoholic drinks - local but good selection, rotated cocktail menu included. Available until midnight. NOTE - adults can only obtain two alcoholic drinks at a time.

Pool Pool areas were good. We spent all of our time at the bottom pool with slides. So many more sunbeds and more going on for the kids. Foam party, pool games, slides, aqua aerobics. The beds on the top pool were not as nice and also rammed. Nice grass areas around though if not fussed about being next to the pool.

Pool areas are not open until 9am which means no ridiculous sunbed rush at 6am… this was brilliant. For the bottom pool, queue at 8:40 and could get a bed on the first two rows. Secured 7 each morning in the place we wanted no issues.

Overall, this hotel delivered what we wanted. A safe, clean family hotel with nice big pool areas. Everyone loved it. We would love to go back!
