In the heart of Faro, the gateway to the Algarve: This contemporary style hotel is situated in the very centre of the city, overlooking the harbour and the Ria Formosa Natural Park. The historical and commercial centres with a large variety of restaurants, bars and shops are just a few steps away. Right next to the hotel is a bus stop providing easy access to the airport and the beautiful Faro Island with its sandy beach. This property offers 134 rooms overlooking the city view or marina views. In-room amenities include LCD TV, safe box, minibar, air conditioning, direct telephone, hair dryer and personal hygiene products. The hotel has restaurants serving local dishes while the bar offers contemporary and relaxed atmosphere with exotic drinks.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
A hugely disappointing experience on so many levels with our stay in this hotel. To have no pool or sun lounger situation and no notice received by us this was a disaster we never would have stayed or at the very least we would have postponed our trip. No beach with easy access either. But the worst thing was having my wife berated and aggressively spoken to by Georgeta the breakfast chef for cutting her bread in a certain way was just unbelievable the other members of staff Julia and Duarte are totally unsuitable for their jobs in my opinion. The aftermath was dealt with in a more professional manner thankfully but as this was a holiday and my wife was upset the damage was done. The restaurant closed in the evening except for two days is frankly another deal breaker and our experience in the other designated spot did not come up to the standard we were expecting. I could go on but it’s just more of the same a very unpleasant and disappointing experience for us at the Ap Eva senses.
Great position for this hotel, especially if you book a room overlooking the Marina. The rooms are a little small, but well equiped, with kettle and supplies, well stocked up daily. The bathroom is well stocked with toiletries, but no tissues. There are plaenty of power sockets and a free safe. WiFi is good. Reception were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Snack meals are available at the small bar area, adjacent to reception. Breakfast was incredible, one of the best I have ever had. A huge selection of fresh fruit, a huge selection of hot food, a huge selection of cakes, plus plenty of cereals, yoghurts, bread etc and some of the best "machine" coffee I've had! Service was outstanding, your crockery was cleared, as soon as you put it down. The restaurant had a great view of the marina and a large outdoor seating area. Maybe it was the lovely piano playing, but it just seemed to be a very relaxed atmosphere and a great way to start your day. The roof top swimming pool and sunbathing terrace is out of action, at the moment, due to a re-furb, which is a shame. Would go back, but would like to be able to use the rooftop facility.
Stayed here for 4 nights over summer.
The hotel is in a good location, right in the centre of Faro. Plenty of walks, shops, restaurants to see/ go to. Good transport links.
Breakfast was very enjoyable with plenty to choose from. We filled ourselves up on this most days and didn’t need lunch.
The room with balcony over the marina was lovely and made for a relaxed stay. We found ourselves retreating there in the evening and having a drink there.
The indoor pool and gym facilities were well used by us during our stay. Both well equipped and modern.
The hotel offer a boat shuttle service to the beach - this was excellent. We were taken out for a really enjoyable ride on what was described as “a big jet ski” (I think we enjoyed this shuttle more than we did the beach!). Top marks to the captain. The beach itself is beautiful and was quiet considering it was August.
The only downside is - there was no outdoor pool available due to renovation. This was not made clear to us when booking through our travel agent so was a bit of a shock/disappointment when arriving for a summer break. I raised this with the hotel after hearing other guests complain and being offered a free dinner. When I did so, I was offered a complimentary bottle of wine, which I did not take them up on. I think this ought to be communicated better.
Nevertheless, I do recommend this hotel and hopefully when the outdoor pool becomes available, it will tick all the boxes.
Hotel was in a great location, by the marina, but with easy access to the airport and train station. Nice communal areas, room ok, pretty standard. We were only advised a couple of days beforehand that the rooftop pool and bar were closed for maintenance (the hotel said had been closed for most of this year), which were the main reasons we chose this hotel, so we were very disappointed. However, when we asked for an upgrade with a marina view the hotel agreed to this, which was appreciated, so thank you to them. Good breakfast, and we sat on a smaller terrace with marina views for this, which was lovely.
I don’t even know where to start with this hotel, first of all we booked this hotel purely for the roof top pool… it’s the second picture on any booking site you use but you’re in for a shock when you get here and there is no outdoor pool at this hotel and hasn’t been for some time and by the looks of it there won’t be for a long time! I’ve never been to a hotel where the staff are just absolutely useless, no information given what so ever! We arrived early and were told our room wouldn’t be ready for some time which we totally understand, the guy serving us said to go use the facilities so straight away we get out swimming stuff to head out to the outdoor pool and there isn’t one 😅 you couldn’t make it up! We then went to speak with the receptionist and then a manager came out who was one of the rudest people I’ve ever came across at a hotel, she definitely needs some training to be kept in a job as she is just down right rude! On our departure we were asked how was the breakfast… no one told us there was a breakfast 😅 it was just one thing after another, it’s not the cleanest of hotels either and to be honest could be doing with getting a good refurb! But the main shock for us was the poo! Please avoid this hotel if you plan on visiting Faro anytime soon!!!
