Comfortable, relaxing stay at this lovely hotel
Beautiful hotel in a great location, close to shops, bars and restaurants but still peaceful. We were warmly greeted on arrival, it was nice to sit down on comfy seats at Reception. Our room was ready for us, so check in went smoothly. The room was really lovely, clean and spacious, with comfortable beds, and the bathroom a good shower, a bidet, toiletries and a hairdryer. There was under sink storage too. There was a safe in the room, plenty of space in the wardrobe and drawers for clothes and we had a decent sized balcony with chairs and a table. There were plenty of choices for delicious breakfasts and all the team were very friendly and helpful. The rooftop pool and bar area was great, with fantastic views and we enjoyed cocktails and wine up there. We didn't use the spa or gym, but was good to know they were there and looked like there were some really good treatments and packages available. It was a pleasant walk to the beautiful beach, which wasn't far away. Only a couple of things that we felt could be improved, it would have been nice to have a bath in the bathroom and also the surface of the desk was scuffed and needed painting or replacing. We tried to book a table in the restaurant for our first night there, we were told it was fully booked but it didn't seem full when we saw it at different points of the night. We didn't try and book again, but there were plenty of great choices in town to eat, so it was ok but it would have been nice to eat there as I had read really good reviews of the food. We would definitely stay at this hotel again though, it was our first ever visit to Portugal and so glad we chose this resort and The Prime Energize.

A great choice for Monte Gordo.
A great choice for a stay at Monte Gordo. The room was huge, with a balcony and the biggest bed I've ever slept in. But what really made the stay so great was the hotel staff. So welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was the usual buffet style. The roof top pool was busy at times but a really nice place to be.

Helpful staff.
Great location few minutes walk to the lovely beach. Very clean place. We had a very relaxing and pleasant stay. There are two pools on-site plus a gym. Pool and beach towels are complimentary. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Half board was fine, but the food lacked creativity and the menu was very repetitive. For vegetarians, options were limited to basic carbs like rice or pasta, plus two boiled vegetables. More variety would help.
Excellent hotel, staff superb.
I am currently staying at this hotel. The staff are excellent. Nothing is too much trouble. They work very hard and should be highly rewarded. Hotel is clean and comfortable. Food good. It's near to the beach and very central. What's not to like?
Could be great with a bit of TLC
First impression good. Friendly staff . Nice location and beautiful beach. Spa and indoor pool very pleasant. Rooftop outdoor pool disappointing as pool ladder loose and wobbly and umbrellas very worn and unstable. Bath surface very worn and slippery. Housekeeping a bit hit and miss. We were left without toilet paper and freshly made bed had spots and streaks of blood on duvet. Both issues quickly resolved. Breakfast service didn’t flow very well and staff struggled to keep up despite working flat out.
