Wow! What a beautiful hotel. We loved our stay. Fab location for walks and also the Marina for amazing restaurants. Our room on the 10th floor was so quiet and comfortable. Well equipped gym. Fab breakfasts and lovely staff who go out of their way to help.
Only slight niggle and that’s all it is was 1) no mirror in the bedroom (just the bathroom) 2) only a hairdryer in the bathroom but quickly resolved with reception providing one and 3) the dreaded reserving of sunloungers. 🤣We know it happens but when folk reserve them for hours on end without using is pretty selfish. Again, quickly resolved because we put it back on the lovely pool staff to help us out and reinforce their 45 min no reserve rule, which they did without issue. It only happened once so it didn’t bother us every day. We loved our stay and would definitely stay again. 🤩
I heard from the staff this hotel will be an Intercontinental. I'm really shocked, they don't even have a lounge as a Crowne Plaza and the staff don't even know basic hospitality. In fact, I found them very rude throughout my stay. I would suggest choosing a hotel where the word hospitality is not a dirty word. Facilities were old and mediocre, so a lot of money will need to be spent to bring this hotel up to scratch and a total new team of employees will be needed given the attitude I encountered during my stay. Simply awful!
We have returned home from a superb 6- day holiday in the beautiful Crowne Plaza Hotel, Vilamoura. We stayed on a Bed and Breakfast basis and also sampled a few enjoyable evenings meals in the hotel restaurant. The buffet breakfast offers an exceptional high standard of cuisine. The helpful, pleasant reception staff go out of their way to ensure one has the best holiday ever. The ambience of the hotel is wonderful with pleasant lobby areas indoors and shaded areas outdoors. Rooms are well appointed, with comfortable beds and a large, cleverly designed bathroom. We enjoyed a side-facing sea view. There is good air conditioning throughout hotel. The hard-working, courteous housekeeping teams worked effortlessly to ensure high standards of comfort and cleanliness. The hotel itself has a great location. It is situated half way between Vilamoura Marina and Quarteira, and a few yards from a lovely walk along the beach. Thank-you. We hope to return.
I booked this hotel very last minute a couple of days before arriving. Staff are very friendly and attentive. You can order room service 24hours a day. My package only included the room and breakfast so I can’t comment on meal times but breakfast was lovely and I had plenty to choose from. The hotel complex is lovely and big. Peaceful area, so if you are looking for something more lively this isn’t your hotel.
Nighttime is very quiet with minimal noise. The beds and pillows are soooo comfy. There’s only a mirror in the bathroom which is difficult if there’s more than one of you to get ready. The pool area gets busy quickly so I would recommend putting your towels out early as by 10/11 it was full. There are supermarkets and restaurants all within short walking distances. The beach is opposite the hotel. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises to watch. You can also get Uber eats delivered if you fancied a quiet night in.
It took about 25 mins in a private taxi from Faro airport.
7/10 I would recommend this hotel if you are visiting!
First stay and we mostly had a good stay. Our room was ready on arrival which always gets a holiday off to a great start. We were on a high floor with a sea view and small balcony. The room was nice and the bed comfy, but needed a mirror, and some draws. For such a large room the bathroom was quite small, and missing any toilet privacy due to glass partitions. The staff were the highlight, always helpful and friendly. Needs more sun beds or better control of reserved but unused ones. Many parasols were broken but I believe a refurb is about to take place. The dinner restaurant was wonderful staff, but the kitchen can't cope when busy with very long waits. We wouldn't take half board again if we return. If they can sort some of the operational issues, whilst maintaining the hospitality culture after the future refurbishment then this will be an excellent hotel.
