Great experience at the Savoy Place
Spent a fantastic week here with my wife. Rooms and public areas were top notch. The only thing that let the hotel down was most of the restaurants were over priced and under whelming (with the exception of Terreiro which was great)
A special mention to Tiag and Limar Tavares of the Sky bar who were superb
Fantastic hotel
Our stay at Savoy Palace in Funchal, Madeira, was truly wonderful. This is a luxury hotel where there is pretty much something for everyone. From the outstanding service to the excellent food and beautiful facilities, the hotel offers a wonderful overall experience.
One of the highlights for us was the rooftop, where we enjoyed delicious cocktails while taking in breathtaking panoramic views of Funchal and the surrounding landscape. The combination of great service, fantastic food, and spectacular views makes it a memorable place to stay.
If I could make one suggestion, it would be to reconsider the décor in the lobby and surrounding areas. The bright orange walls and carpeting feel somewhat dated and, in my opinion, don’t quite reflect the elegant, sophisticated atmosphere I would expect from a luxury hotel of this caliber. A more refined and timeless design could elevate the first impression and complement the hotel’s otherwise exceptional experience.
Overall, Savoy Palace is a beautiful property with outstanding service and many wonderful amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would be happy to return.

Excellent hotel BUT
A repeat customer just cannot keep away, excellent hotel good breakfast.All the staff are very friendly and helpful EXCEPT What has happened to the pool guys they have drastically changed, whereas before on previous trips have always greeted us happily it is very strained acknowledgement, they always set your bed up with the towels this no longer happens. Setting up the umbrellas this does not happen you have to struggle doing it yourself and moving them. The guys always used to walk round this never happens, they just seem to roll up towels and tip tap on phones. This has been noticed by other people as well. What used to be a great service we looked forward to has disappeared, a great shame.

Our booked hotel was under construction. So we were transferred ( to our surprise) to the savoy palace. We never experienced such a wonderfull hotel. The room, the view from the balcony, the breakfast buffet with the very friendly staf. Very professional staf overall. Twice a day the room was checked for towels or water or make your bed. After 32 years of mariage it felt like a honeymoon. Special thanks to Augusto for the effort to regain our lugage (one suitcase) wich was 4 days delayed in the airport. Your hotel is amazing and we never felt like guests who did not belong there in the first place because of the cancellation.

Little niggles.
Always a fab time here. Just a few niggles. Lack of storage is always a big one for us as we hike. There are no coat hooks anywhere in the room. We have an apartment will excellent facilities however there is no hospitality tray. As I say they are just little niggles but it's something I'd expect from a 5* establishment.
